I'm excited to see it too, it looks pretty interesting. I doubt they would kill Liz too, but something else may happen to her..who knows.

Oh dear lord...that episode sure was...WOW. I don't really feel like typing out a long opinion, so I'll just say a few things: All power to Maria, for now..for not becoming a Pop Princess. w00t. She IS really talented..although she kept pissing me off throughout the episode playing Michael like that. I felt Liz was kind of following in Maria's footsteps..but, I respect her choice. She still loves Max...that whole scene at the window when he mouthed, "I Love You." I died, it was so cute! Ahh...hmm, also..I dunno what else to say...Kyle is such a sweetie..and next week's episode looks great! I think Liz did a really good job this week though. One more thing. THEY PLAYED JUDE! YES! (Jude is one of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters ever. EVER. *points to sig*) Okay, call me obsessive, but I don't care. They played it during the scene in the Crashdown when Maria was talking to Valenti, she had her hair in two buns..kind of, ahem, short outfit on. The song was called Everything I Own, cover of Cream..anyways, if you heard it, yay you! They didn't say it at the end though, I was upset. *cries* JUUUUDDDEEE. Dun mind me, I have no school tomorrow ^_^

Hey folks!
Can you believe it? An actual quality episode in season flee. Who would have thunk it? Although the Maria/record producer bit was hokey and ridiculous, being that they already somewhat used that bit in "Blind Date", and Maria did a far better job with "In The Air Tonight". Other than that, the entire eppy had something that has been missing from RosSh** since "A Roswell Christmas Carol", twenty-some odd episodes ago...QUALITY. Unbelievable! Was the usual "writing" staff all on Christmas break when this one was written? Maybe some Good Samaritan replaced their crack pipes with soap bubble pipes that week? Who knows? But never let it be said that I don't give praise when it is justly deserved.
Some TERRIFIC, emotional, heartfelt, realistic, introspective, character driven dialogue...for once. No Isaboob and Jessidiot...for once. JOY! And what do we have? A Max/Michael scene where Max FINALLY says he screwed up over and over, and Liz NEVER has! Finally the "writers" may have dropped the "redemptive Max" bit they have been trying to foist on the audience-the same crap the audience hasn't bought all season, and have switched channels to get away from. And Max says he will go to the FBI if he has to, to save his beloved, and undeserved, Liz. And Michael BACKS DOWN! My GOD, shades of season wonderful!
Then we have Michael trying to be the "good boyfriend" to his EX! Michael wanting a HUMAN in his life? Realizing what he really wants? And the TOPPER, Michael turning away Maria at the end, realizing that her music career, and whether or not to compromise, is something that only she can choose because she will regret it if someone else makes that choice for her! My goodness! They must have used a Temp Agency for the "writing" staff that week! And THANK GOD for that!
And Liz, rather than burden Maria with her Alien problems, puts her friend's welfare before her own, and struggles on without her! Gee, they actually REMEMBERED what Liz's character is supposed to be! Have they been pulling out their season wonderful tapes, and finding out what good writing and good characters are or what!? And they even REMEMBERED that Maria is supposed to be a little wacky! And her oils are back! WOW!
And they remembered what Liz and her dad are SUPPOSED to be like together! They EVEN had subtle undertones from the first season, how Liz just may be "little miss studious Harvard scientist wannabe hopeful" because of her parents pressure! Subtlety like this hasn't been seen in Roswell since season wonderful, other than in the fanfic realm. Maybe those goofs are reading the fanfics, to find out what quality storytelling really is? If they are, I sure hope they continue!
Can you believe the great Liz/Kyle scenes!? Friendship? On RosSh**? Someone pinch me! Kyle keeps his wonderful sense of humor AND is there for Liz, whenever she needs him! JOY! And Max is willing to RISK EVERYTHING for her!
The TRUTH comes out! How could that Alien A** sleep with TRASH! And mention the DEMON SPAWN all of the time! And Max feels like a heel. AS HE SHOULD! And Liz walks away from Max...AS SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE SEASON PREMIERE!
What? TATB might FINALLY be REALIZING WHY HALF of the FANS have BOOKED for SMALLVILLE? Or did UPN finally put JK on the leash he so justly merits? And my is it a SHORT ONE if he was forced to actually put out an episode like this one, that is completely and diametrically opposed to all of the other CRAP he has spewed out since the last six episodes in the last horrific season.
And LIZ decides to get her life back under control and walks away from His Royal A**H***! She found her BACKBONE! Liz Doormat is gone, and Liz Parker is back! It's about d***ed TIME! And Max is even acting a little bit like MAX is SUPPOSED TO! Now if he would only LOSE THE LEATHER and keep eating HUMBLE PIE 'til the stars burn out.
Pity they are still continuing to HUMILIATE poor Jim Valenti with the "Kit Shickers" CRAPOLA! He must really be making a dent on the old mortgage making twenty bucks a performance. Who knows, maybe COMMON SENSE will come back to the "writing staff" and they will drop that horrendous subplot? I can dream, can't I?
Special mention has to go to: Maria's hair. Obviously the make-up and wardrobe department was manned and ready by the same morons that have been bargain hunting on Maxwell Street in Chicago. Just fire them already. They suck dingleberries. Maria's hair looked like a cross between Bride of Frankenstein/Pippi Longstocking/Great Aunt Frieda/And an electrical storm. Made her Crash Helmut/Romulan Centurian/Female Impersonator style from The Pilot look like High Fashion. Mr. Blackwell is going to devote a chapter just to this episode.
What can I say? Even with this episode's shortcomings, of which there are many, it was still GOOD! It could even be WATCHED AGAIN! When was the last time any one of you actually wanted to do THAT?! Let's just hope that this wasn't just a flash in the pan, but signifying of better things to come! If they actually put out episodes like this one on a regular basis, fans may actually come back!
Now all they have to do is undo all of the HORRENDOUS DAMAGE they have done: Tex, SpOT, Alex, et al, and they might have a ratings WINNER on their hands!
All my love,
Rick

WOW Rick, I have always loved your posts..funny thing is I thought the same EXACT thing.. I said to myself, I wonder if they locked the writers in the closet for this episode? I am in Love with Roswell again. I have never loved Liz as much as I have tonight. Talk about a HUGE change of direction.. I am so proud. I even taped it and I am so glad I did, because come tomorrow I WILL be rewatching it..(mind you this is HUGE for me, as I haven't taped an episode since season one. Serious. First I must say, did I cry my eyes out or what? and it wasn't along with Max, I started crying when Liz yelled at Max about why he slept with her, I went downhill from there, I when she slammed the window down on him and said she had to fix it herself...I did *smile* for one small second at the end when she was in the bus, I guess because I was so proud of her. Okay, on with the rest... Kyle, loved him.. I especially loved when he pulled Max away from Liz and told him to stop hurting her...I loved his line about having another year to obsess over something Maria, great voice, but I was angry at the way she treated Michael and surprised at some of the things she said to him.. Liked the part towards the end with Maria & Liz talking on the bench.. how long has that been? I've missed seeing them talk about things... Michael.. liked the part where he tried to reason with Max as they were shoveling dirt, but then realized Max was right and jumped back in...I felt extremly bad for him when Maria let him go.. first you could just *feel* how in love he is with her when she kissed him...poor Mikey G Max.. still mad at him... I was just waiting for him to say to Liz that "I am so sorry, if I could take it back, I would in heartbeat.." anything, something.. but we get "what do we do now" Come on Max Apologize already.. beg.. plead..I might just love you again Although, I will give credit when he stated that he's messed everything up with Liz to Michael.. but he said it to the WRONG person... I LOVED the part when Liz said she couldn't trust Max, and I loved the different things that happened to her... I along with many others I'm sure, am hoping this great writing continues.. If they locked those writers in the closet and hired new ones..GOOD... LEAVE THEM THERE... I can say now, I have officially been sucked back into the Roswell world...

I loved this episode. I watched it again tonight even though I seen it early Saturday. 1.Shiri was back in the lead. 2.No Isabore(I apologize to any that like her, but I simply can't stand her). 3.The episode felt like it came from S1. 4.SA/JB's chemistry felt real again. I've seen the chemistry in some of the other episodes this season but it wasn't anything like S1 and well tonights was. Especially the window scene. 5.Liz going off on Max. It should have been done a long time ago. 6.Kyle they finally gave him airtime without it having to involve a character I can't stand (again sorry as I stated above) Now my biggest shock was my brother who has probably never watched a complete Roswell episode since it's been on the air. Actually watched tonights.

Loved it, watched it twice last night after it aired, and once this morning. The best episode since the end of season1, besides an Isabelless ep. is always a good ep .

A great epi specially for season flee ^_^. One question tho if Liz gets alien powers cause she was healed by Max does that mean that all of the people Max healed will eventually have something like this happen to them? If that's the case all of those children that he healed on Christmas and not to mention Kyle and Samuel... Just a thought.

IMO It was a very exelent episode. I loved the whole idea of Liz getting alien powers and her needing to leave to find the normal-ness he he. I really started to hate Max in this season but in this episode I actually felt sorry for him and I started to notice he was acting more like season *wounderful* Max always did. I'm a big fan of M&M and can't wait till the get back together, I loved the fact that Ria is starting up the whole musical thing agian. But I felt sorry for Michael he wants Maria so bad and she's just messing with him through out this hole episode. It was pretty good though when he didn't let her come into his house ha ha. I think she desearved that there lol anyways I'm off bye bye

I totally loved the episode! There was no Isabel which was a definite plus and Kyle was on for longer than just a couple of minutes! The window scene was really depressing and was fantastic. I thought it was just as good as all those S1 episodes!

Kyle had so much screentime that I had to love this episode. Kyle rocked. I love that Liz went to him with her problem. Yeah, he can relate, but she also knows that Kyle actually knows how to be a friend. After last night, I am officially a Loyalist.
Liz told off Max for sleeping with Trash and rubbing it in her face by whining about his son. I really had to love this episode.
Max is just plain creepy now. Seems a lot of people liked him, but he's giving me the heebie jeebies. And he looks so very, very old. How can anyone think he can get away with playing a high school student? It was so great when Liz closed the wondow on him. Hard to believe I used to love them together. ::shudder::
Maria - could there be any more shine on that girl? That opening number... did they even listen to that before they aired this episode. She should never sing that song again. She sounded fine singing the other song (in the studio) but the sucked at Paradise by the Dashboard Lights. Plus there was that ick factor of singing a duet with Jim. Go to New York, Maria. Go play with Rath and Lonnie. Whatever. I loved it when Michael asked her if she even knows what's going on with Liz.
Isabel was great in this episode. Yup.
Did I mention how great Kyle was?

Dear AllieBehr143,
You haven't seen season wonderful? You won't believe the difference in quality and substance between season one and seasons spew and flee. It's a totally different show now. A totally horrible show now. Ch Ch Changes would barely meet the quality threshold of season one. Wait 'til you see The Pilot, 285 South, The Convention, Blind Date, Independence Day, Toy House, Sexual Healing, The White Room, Destiny... EVERY episode is a class act! Every character is three dimensional. The interlocking friendships. The comparison and contrast between the couples. It was BRILLIANT! Makes the crapola on now seem like rejected scripts from Gilligan's Island.
All my love,
Rick
