Hey this may be all theory & then again, maybe spoilerish...this was posted by Shilohaura and is quite a read
I also second this, as I noticed (for the first time) when rewatching the Pilot... the woman sitting on the other side of the street, journaling...hmmmmmm...thoughts guys?
Shapeshifter has me all psyched about something she noticed and posted on the Pilot discussion thread! She said she noticed at the beginning, as Liz' journal entry scene faded into the busy Crashdown, that there was an old woman sitting at a table, also writing something as Liz walked by. SS made a possible connection with the Pilot - young innocent Liz; next week's EOTW - older, wiser & slightly greying Liz; and the time travel theme. Could it be possible that the writers had the foresight to have Future Liz travel back through time, perhaps surviving with Future Max since Max NEVER really quit loving Liz, to be at the Crashdown again when it all started?
The reason I find this soooo interesting is because of the spoilers I've read on the New Year's Eve episode - Melinda Metz first contribution to the series. Liz is working at the Crashdown, helping with a Senior Citizens NYE Party, while all the others are out partying. There's one little old lady that knows just a little too much about Liz - enough to creep Liz out a little! Knowing that there's some one very special Liz should be with - that he's different, and loves Liz very much! Could FL return to bring Liz & Max back together, having realized that Tess was not the answer - that she & Max are only strong when they're together?
And Max has some interesting behaviors, too. He's rumored to have a massive revelation about his "son" soon - perhaps beginning in this episode? Anyway, he's out partying - not really enjoying anything because Liz isn't there - and actually using his powers rather publicly throughout the night (maybe coming to grips with what he is & being more comfortable about it?). At one point, he walks through a park where kids are playing frizbee. It lands at his feet & they ask him to throw it back. He does, and suspends it spinning in the air for quite some time. Supposedly a look of "realization" comes over him as the kids are amazed and tell him to give their toy back. He then sends it crashing to the ground saying, "crashdown!" Now, is he thinking about the original crash? Or that he should be at the Crashdown with Liz, no matter WHAT Mr. P thinks? OR - Is he having some major turning point? Is FL sending him flashes - drawing him to the Crashdown & Liz? (They are together at the stroke of midnight!) Has FL been sending flashes all along? Is he simply waking up from an extended major mindwarp? OH, the possibilities!
Now, I may be setting myself up for disappointment here, but I am REALLY psyched to see this episode! Shapeshipfter has got my imagination reeling with possiblities and "what if's" and I just can't put the voices in my head back into their cages! Thanks lots, SS!
