Bunnie - No I think you might be right. the second I saw the beginning of AToTP I was like: "OMFG, now they've gone and done it. Look what too much fanfic can cause. I'll never watch this creepy show again." I mean, just the way they organized the beginning...we were supposed to think they suddenly had all split up and paired up differently. I think it was purpose. They just played around. They couldn't have done much more anyway in the few episodes that were still open until the finale. Maybe if Roswell hadn't gotten cancelled, they would have followed that line, just to try. Not if they had to end the show anyway. They just tried to wrap up the lose ends somehow before "Graduation", but I think before they got there they figured messing a little with people's minds was okay, I think.

So you think that the net and/or some of the fanfic caused some of the fucked up story arcs?

At least I consider it a distinct possibility. I mean, they did pay attention to what the fans wanted, that's why the finale turned out the way it did turn out (well, it also shows how little attention they payed to the fans but that's another story :Shake). For instance, Tess being killed - that was positively fan induced. So I think they might have gone with "let's spice (sorry for the choice of words ) up the couples a little, fans think about it anyway", too.
