Generally, and this is depressing, but the only time I wear skirts are to funerals. So...I don't wear them very often.

I started wearing skirts again recently, but my friends would be like "Look, she's wearing a skirt" like they just saw a dinasaur come back to life or something *sigh* So, that kind of discourages me. No miniskirts definitely. Mine is ankle-length. :joke

If you like it, do it. They'll get used to it soon enough.

I used to hate wearing skirts when I was little and my Mom would make me wear them. Then, when I was old enough to decide myself, I only wore jeans. About three years ago I started wearing skirts again. Some of them are even really short, because I have really thin legs, but my upper thighs are the only part of them that are bigger, so I wear shorter skirts to disguise my toothpick like excuse for legs. I only wear those when I'm having a good day though! :)

I hate skirts with a passion still. I only wear pants. I can't stay in formal clothes long either. I dunno... I just like loose clothing that I can run in. Too active to be put in dresses and stuff like that.

I like dressing up on occasion, and then after an hour or so, I'm ready to get back in jeans. But to get the reactions from people, especially men...yeah, that makes it worth it. When they don't recognize you. THAT is priceless, and proof positive that I can look incredibly drop dead gorgeous when I want to. And to hear a guy say, "You're the best looking bouncer in town" is just So Rich. That he said it in front of his wife was so not good, and I felt bad for her.

I once wore this kinda tight black top to college and my friends told me some guys were looking. I know, that's supposed to make me feel good, but I just felt weird because I felt like I was naked or something.
Anyway, I forgot to mention shoes. I totally go for flats. Give me anything that resembles heels and I walk like a duck or something.

:lol Yeah, I tend to have my problems with hell, too. For me, it's sneakers. Love them.
I know what you mean about feeling naked. I used to complain about guys never looking at me twice. Now, if they do, I'm all at once like: "Huh? Do I have spinach in my teeth?" :lol

Heels suck. I can't walk in them for some reason. I tried it once and just ended up breaking the shoes so I stay clear of 'em.

On Thursday, I'm going to a musical put on my a local group, and I'm going to quasi-dress up, and my American Sign Language prof is going to be there. I look forward to her reaction, as I show for class in t-shirt and jeans and do nothing with hair (other than ponytail) and no make-up.

Zook- Hope you have fun at your musical! :dance :dance
Anyway, I can never understand how some girls can wear those extremely high heels. They practically tether and sway on the heels and I really wonder whether it's worth the pain and risk of breaking some body part. Totally not worth it for me.

Breaking a bone... not so fun. Rather just live short than go through pain.

Zooks- hope you had fun at your musical!

The musical is tomorrow. And I got my appointment with Social Services for Medicaid rescheduled, so I don't have to miss classes! YAY! And my application for a new social security card is in! YAY! I lost my old one, in case you were wondering. And I need it when I go in for my Medicaid interview.

'Gypsy' is based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, a very famous burlesque dancer from back in the day. Her mother was this incredibly overbearing stage mother who pushed her dreams on Gypsy (real name Louise) and her sister, June, who was the 'star' of the little act. It was basically a cutsie little thing with the kids being perpetually 9 going on 10. When vaudville dries up, the guys in the act split and June elopes. So Mama turns her eye on Louise, and they get this real cruddy little kiddy act going. They get booked into a house of burlesque, and one night, when they need someone to go on stage and fill space, Mama volunteers Louise. Right. So Louise (who gets the stage name Gypsy Rose Lee then) goes out, and I guess finds she has a talent for doing a striptease. I went for the ASL, not for the show. And, honestly, the Deaf people are real lucky they couldn't hear the pit orchestra. The onstage singing (when the mikes were working) wasn't half bad. But it's regional theatre. And I did learn some curse words. *evil grin* So did the others from my class who were there. If they picked up on them and plan to use them, I dunno. I'll be nice about it. OH! And I learned the sign for 'gimick' during one of the songs where the strippers are telling Louse that no talent is required to do what they do, just the ability to flaunt it and have a new angle on doing it. One of the chicks, who is very, very stacked, had light-up stars. ONe on each breast and one on the front of her thong. Wow. I'd die of humiliation if I had to go out in that! Anyway...

I can't remember them now, but, yeah, there were some bad words. Ah, well. I know the universal one-fingered salute, so...yeah. ;)
