Yay! Just realized I got my long craved for fourth drink and didn't even notice cause I was so caught up in posting! Anyway: since we're already disussing dresses, I loved Liz's wedding dress (as in her actual wedding dress, not the one she wore in Max's Vegas fantasy).

Zook, didn't work for me either. You should post it in the SS Oh and I actually liked Liz's dress in the Vegas version much better as it reminded me more of what mine looked like. Traditional.

I see. Actually that's what I liked about the Graduation dress, it was unconventional.

That's cool. I'm just more of a conventional girl. I really didn't like her dress much (I mean I did like it but didn't feel like it was wedding matieral.) I did like the flowers in her hair though. (but again would perfer the vail over it or with it ) Zook- What a beautiful black dress! And loved your hair!

Yeah, I looked really, really good. That was...oh, about 7 years ago. I haven't changed overly much since then, so it still looks like me. The friend I'm with did my hair and makeup. The dress was $25 at a secondhand store. I got my whole ensemble there dirt cheap, and I looked better than most of the girls who dropped several hundred on their get-up. hehehe...

My mother made both my prom gowns. I remember my friend Nicole spent a ridiulous amount on some designer gown (her parents would not contribute so she paid herself) and when we got there, 2 other girls had the same dress in the same color.
You look great there - never would guess it was $25!

Yeah, the joys of secondhand. And it was this vintange thing, and vintage was in that year. Oh, the jewlery was from the mall. Cost me more for that than the dress, the gloves, and the shoes put together. lol
I have a sketch of a gown that my best friend designed that's just...wow. And if I ever get it scanned in, I'll stick the link up here.

Yeah, I usually did end up convincing my parents to buy the 140 dollar gowns. But I always lucked out and was the only one with it on. I think because no one seemed to like my taste at the time I suppose. Like for instance, my senior year everyone pretty much wore blue black or red. But I wore all white. ( I think I was the only one there in all white- as most girls wouldn't think of it because of the whiteness and how dirty it could become. )

Thank you, thank you , Maj! Don't worry, a few weeks ago I was just where you are now, and look at my drinks now...you'll get there eventually. Quote: Quote: didn't feel like it was wedding matieral.
That's true, in fact. Still liked it. 25$ is really a good buy. I never went to what you could call "prom" here (we don't really have that), so I never had to buy a dress for that. The only long dress I have is black though. I'd like to be able to do my own creations though. Currently I'm having a hard time being taught how to sew trousers. *passed out from exhaustion of sewing*

I found this really nice black brocade-like dress that has lace and faux pearls along the top of the bodice at a garage sale, and it looks like it's strapless, but it has two black straps running up the back to a choker-type thing. I wore it to a black tie affair last April, and one of the guys who was there (while his wife was with him) said I was the best looking bouncer he'd ever seen. lol For those who are interested, there's a pic of me, post event, in my Yahoo album titled 'Best Looking Bouncer In Town', or something like that.

My mom calls it (jokingly) my 'slut dress'. lol Whatever. Compared to what I usually wear, I suppose it is. It's kind of funny, I suppose. Most of the time, I'm in a t-shirt and jeans, no makeup, hair back in a ponytail. So when I actually bother to trick myself out, people don't recognize me. It's happened on more than one occasion. People truly have no clue who the person who just walked in is. I had a guy look at my prom picture and ask who was in it.

Tess's dress was my favourite, because it was understated yet classy. I just love the material and the colour as well. Overall, I also think she looked the best. Oh my gosh, is this really me saying nice things about Tess? *gasp* Anyway, I think that Maria's dress was pretty nice. It looked cute on her. That's why I was surprised to see a lot of you guys say you don't like it. Not that I'm complaining, everyone has different tastes. Liz's dress was great too, but I would have liked it better if she didn't wear the necklace. It totally didn't match the dress. Okay, this is probably not important but my prom dress was maroon and the material was velvety. I loved it because I like see through clothing (not too revealing though) and the top was slightly see through. I know, my description sucks!

Yeah, I'm pretty shocked, too... Quote: Quote: I would have liked it better if she didn't wear the necklace. It totally didn't match the dress.
So the way I see it, I was the only one to like the necklace...

No, you're not saying nice things about Trash, you're merely saying the dress looked good on her. You're complimenting the dress, NOT her. There, you have been absolved of the crime of Saying Nice Things About Tess.

I didn't mind the necklace. Just not something you'd see at a prom, IMO.
