Hey dude. I'm a complete DJer myself.. just can't see why this Post was necessary. If you been posting it all over, too, and looking to be Banned then I don't get it. You could try a realistic explanation ya' know.. although it's been done, :/. Oh well. Spose I'm wasting breath here.

Tsk, tsk.. That line, dunno how relevant it is to the big picture. It's from Season 3 and feelings weren't that way in all the yrs before it, and all the yrs after it. It was a point in time that came & went, otherwise known as a 'Fling'. Lol, k maybe a small step above that, but not a lot. Sure I'm a DJer.. whatever. I love Pacey as much as all of you guys, the guy was cool, witty, all else good. But more of a pimp who was with all the girls, Dawson obviously was the concious, moral one. But guess the show went for reality, the good guy alot of the time don't get the girl, but in this show it was BS kinda, being the whole thing was about that & there was no logical reason to go with PJ since they had so little foundation. Oh well, maybe it's a girl thing, but I didn't care how the 'love triangle' ended, was of little importance to me. This Topic doesn't deserve a convo on this subject, though. One that's soooo big & important.. yet honestly, to me it means nothing in the end. To me, DC should've ended how it was, about friends. I think friends beat out relationships. Thus I've recently come to the conclusion that.. 'Joey Potter & Capeside Redemption' should've been considered the Series Finale. It basically was the finale, and the final 2 the epilogue. But I wish they hadn't made them, why see 5 yrs later? I think Capeside Redemption was an awesome show & how I will always remember DC going out. It was a class ending to me.. Ah, reminds me it's over. Even the reruns went their cycle, .

Lol, I wouldn't have anyway. So yeah, mistakes were made. In fact, I will agree that during many parts of the Series, Dawson was selfish with an ego. To be honest, during Season 1 I developed a bias against him & thought I'd always hate Dawson for how Sn.1 went down, but that changed. All the characters have flaws. It's realistic, and I always could see the only child syndrom in Dawson. I wouldn't call him a jerk, though, he usually had other's interests in mind, he wanted Joey to be happy. So much so he didn't end up with her I guess. As for the Sn.3 thing when he turned her down, that was supposedly an upstanding choice cause she threw herself at him like that. Still a questionable choice, lol, and his *dream* was always what Joey supported most, to me a huge part of why he accomplished it. In the end, I still find Dawson an upstanding guy, cause every character had their perfect perceptions shattered at one time or another. The only reason D/J stands out as a great thing is what they had 'together', not as individuals. Plus the history, soulmates & whatnot, but oh well they chose to break the mold there.
I hadn't seen the 5 yr later finale & I did. I'll say it was good and all, but I still stand by what I said. JP&CR was a terrific finale & it didn't need to be messed with. It was a perfect ending, just enough resolution plus the right amount of ambiguous.

I never saw it like that myself. I mean, it showed her from episode number one in love with him. She pined for him for a LONG time and finally was brave enough to show him how she felt about him only for him to throw the shirt back in her face. AND on top of that when they did sleep together-- he HAD a girlfriend. So he used her like a one night stand. Don't get me wrong-- I love Dawson for the "character" he was/is-- but I HATE him with Joey. I will NEVER feel like he was good enough for her. He ruined his chances one too many times.

Kris-- Yeah-- you figured me out. Actually, I was one in the beginning. Up until that damn Tshirt shit scene I saw. *smacks Dawson* That and I was also a little turned off before that even- when Pacey liked her in S1 and Dawson couldn't make up his freggin mind until Pace stated his feelings. But I could have gotten past that scene mind you- but NOT the "put your shirt back on" And I just cannot fathom why anyone female especially would still think that's okay. Let's see "It was morally correct?" Bullshit! It was a total rejection. OH and Joey

Heh. I felt the same way in Sn.1 and that was only one show, though, but Id did want Pacey & Joey to get together first to get the message threw to Dawson. That woulda been cool if Dawson got his wakeup call that way, but he did anyway. I guess thinking of it, Pacey didn't really like her, he just finally found her hot when he saw her half nude while she was changing.
I've gotta point a couple things out, though, on that 'rejection scene' in Sn.3. 1. There had been what, 16 years of storied history between the two as best friends, so Dawson didn't want it to go that way. 2. Joey had just dumped him.. again, in the Sn.2 finale. 3. Joey was only having regrets of dumping him when she saw Dawson with Eve on his boat. She panicked and went there and did that, which to me was kinda obvious that she was just freaking out.
It seems like your viewing that as a boy and a girl who are brand new to each other and Joey finally summing the guts to show him? Well that's dead wrong. The two were overly-honest best friends for 16 years, and had went threw 'TWO' times going out together/breaking up. They were far deep into that relationship to just say, Joey got up the guts to say she liked him, lol. That's crazy. At that point in time, I'd say it was far passed a boy/girl crush anyway. It wasn't like a rejection in that way.
But it can all be percieved in different ways. One thing I will say is, how you see the Dawson's Creek relationships can relate to how you feel about things in your own life. But I would say strongly, that Dawson & Joey differ from 95% of us all in the fact of their lifelong friendship. While they were lucky to have that special thing, god did it ever complicate the matters, lol.
