Hey all. I'm simply introducing myself to this Board out of the blue, a Board which sadly appears to be quietting down more and more, . Well I'm gonna say a few things about my DC experience & leave it out there, I hope this Board can still maintain decent use just based off the aftermath left by DC even though it's over now for most.

First off, my account (Global), I'm sure this has to be one of the more unexpected Names to pop up, lol. Well I have no other EZ accounts and don't care to fuss over a new one, and yes I am a Wrestling fan & that's why I've got this Hogan one. Actually, I am a huge Sports fan, wrestling fan, love cars.. oh yeah, I'm a 19-yr-old male, lol. And even though I've seen quite a few guys who love DC also, I know I'm not in their typical demographic so to speak. Well I am not very weird in reality, heck I'm all for the whole machoism deal, lol, maybe my hobbies in life are getting TOO broad. That's what makes my love for DC so funny, it would've been the last thing on Earth I could ever envision myself caring about up to just 4 months ago! That's when I started watching.

Me getting into Dawson's Creek was actually cruel irony in a way. Because without ever watching a show or giving it a chance, I took the stereotypical stance on it, retarded girly overdrama show. In fact, DC was one of the things on TV I made jokes on the most. I obviously didn't watch DC in it's heyday on WB, there was likely no way I ever would have considered it, so my DC story came with TBS airing the re-runs of the series. I was watching TBS a lot cause of their 'OK' movies and I like Saved by the Bell. So DC was just the retarded show in between all that, and I really detested it for no reason. Wasn't right I know, heck even the song I would laugh at. So it was like a big joke on me when I became freakin' addicted to the series and spent 4 MONTHS now watching it loyally (& I've never followed ANY show loyally ever). My pre-judgement came back at me when my hatred for DC turned to curiosity. One day, dunno why, but I was half asleep and left DC on and watched a show. Now I'll admit one of many factors drawing me in was Katie Holmes/Joey. Not even because she's so beautiful, but something just drew me towards her & her character like a magnet, I was curious about her alone. There was MUCH more than that, though, DC was like a magnet, even when I tried pushing it away.

Somehow without ever watching DC, I had a 'tiny' idea of the overall storyline of the 6-yrs of the series. Maybe once a GF babbled about it, who knows? Lol. So my joke ended there, and even though I passed it off as a joke to ppl I talked to about it, I was watching the show. I saw a couple of shows right at the end of the series - Sn.6. I saw the first show of the 2-hr finale, so I wasn't spoiled on it yet saw enough to make me wanna see the WHOLE series. So I got addicted. It was perfect timing since they just were restarting the Series anew from Sn.1. Now it's early Sn.6 and I've taken the whole ride & I'm shocked this ever happened to me, lol. Oh well.. if my love for DC was a fluke or a joke, or makes me seem less macho.. I disagree and oh well, it's worth it. Now I know ppl on this Board view DC as over, but fans of it should be watching the TBS run of the series. You coulda relived all the moments you'd seen & kept the subject alive. But I think a few ppl here 'are' watching them. Oh, as for how I found this place, it's my stop for whenever I miss a day of shows, I get the Transcripts here, so thank god this site is up for me, .

I dunno if anyone wants to comment or what. I guess if anybody does, maybe I could whip out a few lists. I had 3 general lists in mind, all Top 5's! I have quite a bit of various DC shows taped throughout the series, so I can go back and look and decide..

It's just an idea. If there's support for it, then I say let some other ppl begin their lists. You can elaborate a little bit on your choices, but I know how we all are & we'll likely get carried away on that, lol. Just like I have with this 'Introduction Post'! But if you're gonna say you hate Dawson then I have a high suspicion you're a female and being bias. But hey, DC can almost become like religion & politics to the TRUE fans, lol. Anyways, I'm done rambling finally. My name is Gabe and anyone who wants to waste some time reliving DC can reply & if ya got AIM or MSN, that's an option too. So there's others, lol. All right, you're correct about the shows being hard to chose, if you think about it how can you chose 5 out of about 130 shows. Well here's a group of shows I liked the best and really I loved ALL of Sn.1. As to be expected, every Sn. finale & Sn. opener were must-sees. But 'narrowing it down'..

"Double Date", "Beauty Contest", & "Decisions (finale)" from Sn.1. Yes the last 3 shows in a row. Same as 'Josh' but I liked Double Date cause it pushed all the issues, Joey & Pacey were great, & at the end was cool when Dawson got his reality check.

"To Be or Not To be...", "Be Careful What You Wish For", & "A Perfect Wedding" from Sn.2. Pacey went awol on the teacher in defense of Jack's 'Gay Poem' remember. Dawson getting drunk and blasting everyone was freakin' hilarious & pushed the issues. And Perfect Wedding was great & not because Abby Morgan died, lol, though I sure wasn't heartbroken over that.

"Four to Tango", "A Weekend in the Country", "The Longest Day", & "True Love (finale)" from Sn.3. First 2 shows held a weird auro relating to Joey/Pacey's relationship. Longest Day was the culmination of that. And True Love the ultimate culmination.

"The Long Goodbye", "100 Light Years from Home", & "The Abby/Swan Song" from Sn.5. I actually didn't 'see' the 100th episode which really upsets me, but I read it here & it was SO good just reading it did the trick.

Finally, "The Kids are Alright/The Song Remains the Same" from Sn.6.

So that's 14 shows narrowing it down, lol. Now I should make it clear that my description of 'Favorite Shows' aren't necessarily shows I liked, a few of my top ones left me anrgy. It's shows that got the biggest rise out of me, maybe they were very emotional or impaktful. They're shows that I know are the most memorable for better or worse and ones that I would likely watch over and over again. Also.. this is up to what I've seen so far, reruns are in early Sn.6, so I haven't seen the end of the series yet & I'm sure there's a few great shows left or more. Well I know that, but till I see em', I won't list em'. If I could pick 5.. well 6, out of those 14, I think I would chose these, all tied & in no particular order..

"The Long Goodbye(5)", "The Kids are Alright(6)", "Beauty Contest(1)", "Decisions(1)", "True Love(3)", "The Longest Day(3)"

As for my favorite and least favorite characters. I'll hurry this up and I'd say..

Dawson & Pacey are a virtual tie in my book. Couldn't really come up with a hated list. I only hated a few characters throughout the series, and I think the one that comes to mind now is CHARLIE! Lol, I hated him. Oh yeah & I'd have to include Prof.Wilder as a dislikable guy, although it was funny the moment after he kissed Joey.. "Oh God! I'm going to prison now, aren't I?" Lol.. Beyond that, there's characters I've hated at different points in time, for example I hated Jen immensely in Sn.1 & even Sn.2, but of course all characters change with time. I still don't like Jen, but I guess I came to accept her & she's gotten a lot better as a person with time. Anyways, if anybody else has lists they wanna post, I know it's been done, but do it again! Lol. Or if you wanna just give your experience, etc.. Till then, peace out.

Hey man for real good story and it sounds just like the way I got hooked. I used to not look twice at a Dawson's Creek commercial then they started showing it right after saved by the bell and for no reason i just sat there watching it. And the same thing drew me in about the show. Joey. Man I thought i was the only one but ya it was just somethin about her other than that she was real pretty. So ya man thats exactly what happened to me. I guess we watch it for the same reasons.Ha.But I gotta disagree on the top 5 thing. My favorite character is Dawson and then Joey. Maybe its a tie.
