Here's some information about James' upcoming movie Venetian Heat. They still don't have it listed at imdb, so this is all I could find. :)

Latest Updates on: Italian Heat

Monday 16th June 2003: Italian Heat Update:
James Marsters has been signed up to star alongside Derek Jacobi and Sean
Bean in a movie called Italian Heat that will start filming in September.
He had this to say "It's from a hit play on the West End of London called
'Italian Heat,' and being that there's a lot of sex in it, I think that's
the wrong title. It sounds like soft-core porn... It is about a gay man,
who I play, who is in a marriage in fascist Italy and he's got a horrible
marriage and two refugees come into the house that he lives in --- one's
gay and one's not -- one takes to the wife, one takes to the guy. The thing
is that in fascist Italy, people were being hung for being gay and the
thing that I responded to in the script was --God, let's get personal --I
was in a long-term relationship. In fact, I was married to a woman who
didn't really love me... Anyway, God..I know what it's like to live a lie
without even knowing you're living a lie and in my experience there was a
sexual component to it and so what I responded to in the script was that a
scene could be about how important it is to be yourself no matter what that
is and how high a price you have to pay or should be willing to pay to be
yourself."

Friday 1st August 2003: Italian Heat Update:
The following info on Italian Heat has been sent "It is based on a
theatrical play titled by the same name. James Marsters plays a gay man.
His character is in a marriage gone wrong, to a female, in facist Itally.
In facist Itally the penalty for being gay is to be hung. His wife and he
take in two refugees, one being gay, one not. Of course by the end
everything is set straight, the two gay guys together, and the wife and
other refugee together. James Marsters describes the script in his own
words, "It sounds like soft-core porn..."

Friday 1st August 2003: Venetian Heat Update:
Amber has just been in touch with the following update to a project once known as Italian Heat "I just received a newsletter from the James Marsters Official Site. I thought you might want the latest news on his new movie. The things said leave me to believe the title was changed to Venetian Heat. It also lists off a few of the actors and their roles. These are exact words:

James Marsters is cast in the upcoming movie "Venetian Heat".
Filming is scheduled to begin October 27, 2003 in Papigno, Italy

ADRIANO - James Marsters
FRANCO - Patrick Dempsey
DON GIORGIO - Derek Jacobi
SCHNEIDER - Sean Bean
FABIANI - Franco Nero
MARIO - Rupert Evans"

I think it did get cancelled for good ~ I read that there were not enough funds so it was aborted.
