There's more.
Episode 616 - That Was Then
-This episode will tentatively air on March 26.
-Anna Fricke wrote this episode. (credit Jason at dawsonscreek.com)
-Joey is babysitting Harley in this episode. Conner (age 16) is there studying too. He is sort of Harley's (age 15) boyfriend, but when he sees Joey, he gets a crush on her. Harley gets pissed. Harley and Conner banter back and forth. Joey gets annoyed with Conner and tells him it's never going to happen. She says things like, "You boys are all alike!" She gives him some advice, telling him to fight for Harley and that guys should never give up the fight. She also says that Harley is a smart, sassy chick, and if she had a brain, she would never speak to him again. (credit Monica M at FF)
-Conner's name has been changed to "Patrick." (credit Linda at PN)
-Dawson goes back to Capeside to give a speech for his former high school film class teacher, Mr. Gold. He meets a kid named George who reminds him of himself at that age and gives him some advice. (credit Monica M at FF)
-Pacey's father is in the hospital. Pacey has scenes with him and Doug, who both say nice things to him. His dad's condition isn't terminal or anything too serious. He's going to be fine. (credit Monica M at FF)
***THE TEASER OPENS IN PACEY'S APARTMENT ON THE SAME DAY PACEY AND JOEY HAVE BEEN SPRUNG FROM KMART. PACEY'S APARTMENT IS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM HELL'S KITCHEN, AND HE LOOKS OUT THE WINDOW. HE DECIDES TO GO TALK TO JOEY ABOUT "ALL THE THINGS THEY AREN'T TALKING ABOUT." AS HE OPENS THE DOOR TO LEAVE, THERE'S JOEY. THE ENTIRE SCENE IS ABOUT SEVEN PAGES LONG. THE FOLLOWING ARE SNIPPETS FROM THE SCRIPT:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some banter as they try to get to the point...
JOEY: It'd be nice if maybe we could stop being polite. PACEY: Thank god you said something, because I've been meaning to emotionally abuse you.
They quickly get to the point...
JOEY: ...I guess I wonder if you regret any part. But what I meant was... do you regret telling me what you told me? PACEY: Depends. Do you regret hearing it? JOEY: It's kind of hard to regret hearing something that's already been in the back of my mind. ...
Joey makes an analogy by talking about the Choose Your Own Adventure book series...
JOEY: ...I would cheat on them. If the chapter wasn't going how I wanted, I wouldn't even finish it. I would go back and start over until I got the happy ending. PACEY: Everyone does that. JOEY: Yeah, but that's not exactly a realistic way to live your life, is it?
Pacey grows a spine that functions in front of Joey...
PACEY: ...We're older now, Joey. I'm not going to walk away if I don't like your choice. In fact, I don't even think this is entirely up to you.
They go on to agree that they regret how things ended back in season four. They talk about how much they have changed. And after that...
JOEY: So, do you think we can leave the baggage at the terminal? PACEY: Didn't you once go out to sea with nothing but a toothbrush?
They go on to discuss that they both need to think some more. Joey says they need a plan, and Pacey jokes that he's not good at planning life-changing decisions. Then this is said...
JOEY: All I'm saying is, call me. Or I'll call you. Just to hear how you're feeling or -- He cuts her off, touching her hair or gently brushing her cheek. Whatever feels right. PACEY: -- Since when do you need an excuse, Jo? She catches onto his hand and they lean in towards each other. These are two people who really just want to be kissing. And they almost do. They hover in front of each other, lips practically touching for what seems like a hell of a long time. Joey bites her lip, pulling gently away.

***JOEY MAKES IT TO THE DOOR, AND SHE AND PACEY DECIDE TO ORDER PIZZA INSTEAD OF PARTING WAYS JUST YET. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***ACT ONE OPENSA WITH MR. GOLD AND DAWSON TALKING ABOUT THE DAYS OF CAPESIDE YORE. THE FOLLOWING IS A LINE FROM THE SCENE:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAWSON: Come on, Mr. Gold. Self-reflection on high school grounds is dangerous enough. Let's not make it worst by reminding me that I used to have an ego.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** HETSON BEGS JOEY TO WATCH HARLEY WHILE HE GOES ON A DATE (WHICH IS AT 3:30 IN THE AFTERNOON). HETSON IS FREAKING OUT THAT HARLEY HAS BECOME BOY CRAZY. JOEY SAYS THE FOLLOWING TO HIM:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOEY: You should watch it, you know. Sexual deviation might not even be on Harley's mind. You keep being this strict with her, she's gonna realize that there's something fun and naughty she's apparently missing out on.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***PACEY GETS A PHONE CALL INFORMING HIM THAT HIS DAD IS IN THE HOSPITAL. PACEY FREAKS AND RUNS OUT OF THE OFFICE. WE IMMEDIATELY CUT TO PACEY RUNNING THROUGH CAPESIDE'S HOSPITAL LOOKING FOR DOUG AND HIS DAD. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***DOUG IS A JERK THROUGH THE ENTIRE EPISODE. APPARENTLY, HE IS JEALOUS OF PACEY'S MONEY AND TRIES TO TAKE IT OUT ON HIM. HE'S REALLY OUT OF LINE, BUT HAS QUITE A FEW SCENES WITH PACEY. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***IN ACT TWO, THERE IS MORE DOUG AND PACEY. MR. WITTER IS GOING TO BE OKAY. PACEY IS REALLY WORRIED ABOUT HIS DAD THOUGH. DOUG ACTS LIKE A BRAT AGAIN. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***WE CUT TO DAWSON TALKING TO MR. GOLD'S CLASS ABOUT THE MOVIE, WICKED DEAD, THAT HE JUST FINISHED. THE MOVIE GOES STRAIGHT TO CABLE. PEOPLE ARE AWED BY TODD. DAWSON TALKS ABOUT GOING BACK TO HIS ROOTS, WHICH HAVE "HEART." HE TALKS ABOUT PERSISTENCY. HE ALSO MENTIONS HOW HE NEVER WENT TO FILM SCHOOL. HE GETS INTRODUCED TO GEORGE, WHICH IS A MINI-DAWSON. GEORGE KEEPS CALLING DAWSON, "MR. LEERY". (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***CUT TO JOEY AND HARLEY. JOEY IS BEGGING HARLEY TO DO HER HOMEWORK. JOEY LEAVES HER ALONE IN HER ROOM AND A BOY NAMED PATRICK FALLS OUT OF THE CLOSET. HARLEY LEANS TO KISS HIM AND JOEY COMES BACK. PATRICK IS A MINI-PACEY. HARLEY IS A MINI-JOEY. PATRICK MAKES LEERING COMMENTS TOWARDS JOEY, AND EVEN CALLS HER JOSEPHINE.
***CUT TO PACEY AT THE HOSPITAL CALLING JOEY. HE GETS HER VOICE MAIN. BEFORE HE CAN LEAVE A MESSAGE, DOUG SHOWS UP AND PACEY HANGS UP. PACEY VISITS WITH HIS FATHER. THE DOCTOR TELLS PACEY THAT HIS DAD WAS JUST TELLING HIM HOW PROUD HE IS OF PACEY. DOUG GETS PISSY. THE DOCTOR SAYS THAT HE CAN ONLY HAVE ONE VISITOR AT A TIME, AND HE CHOOSES PACEY FIRST. DOUG IS A BRAT AGAIN. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)***IN ACT THREE, PACEY AND HIS DAD ARE MALE-BONDING. THE FOLLOWING IS A SNIPPET FROM THEIR SCENE:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MR. WITTER: You really would do anything for me, wouldn't you? After everything, you're still... you grew up to be one of the good guys. I knew you would. And I should've told you that more often. PACEY: Once would've been just fine. (off his look) Dad ... it's okay. Jut get some rest.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***MR. GOLD SHOWED HIS CLASS "CREEK DAYZ" AND "SEA CREATURE FROM THE DEEP" TO PREPARE THEM FOR DAWSON'S VISIT. GEORGE LIKES CREEK DAYZ. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***HARLEY, PATRICK, AND JOEY ARE BANTERING BACK AND FORTH. JOEY IS TRYING TO KEEP THE PEACE, PATRICK IS LEERING AT HER, AND HE AND HARLEY ARE FIGHTING. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***DOUG IS STILL A BRAT. HE'S SAD THAT HE'S NOT DAD'S "FAVORITE" ANYMORE. PACEY CALLS HIM ON IT. DOUG BRATS SOME MORE. (credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
***IN ACT FOUR, JOEY AND PATRICK ARE TRYING TO GET HARLEY TO COME OUT OF HER ROOM. THE FOLLOWING IS A PORTION OF JOEY AND PATRICK'S SCENE:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOEY: I don't mean to do anything to you but give you some advice. Walk away right now. Don't ever mention me again. Go home and strum on your guitar or whatever it is you do and dream up some fantastic gesture to get this girl back and never think there's a day in your life when you have to stop doing that sort of thing. That's the worst thing that a guy can do. Give up the chase. And be realistic, Patrick. If I weren't such a nice girl I would have laughed in your face and called you Junior the second I met you. PATRICK: Why didn't you? JOEY: You remind me of someone. Now get out of here before I remember what it was that pissed me off so much about that guy when I was your age.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***PATRICK LEAVES, AND JOEY IS FINALLY ALLOWED IN HARLEY'S ROOM. THE FOLLOWING ARE SNIPPETS FROM THEIR SCENE:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Patrick...
HARLEY: I've seen how it goes with the other couples in school. They just want to be together for the sake of having someone. To grab onto someone for the slow songs. But Patrick, he makes me feel something. And even when we're fighting, I feel like he gets me. Like he cares what the outcome of the conversation is. And I don't think I'll meet anything else like that.
Harley asks Joey about her relationships, and how they are when you're older. Later, during the conversation...
HARLEY: Was it this hard for you in high school? JOEY: Of course, but everything's twenty-twenty in hindsight. Now, all the problems Pacey and I had seem so petty. And all the obstacles Dawson and I went through seemed unnecessary.
Later...
HARLEY: Well, how can I skip the middle part? What would you tell yourself back then, if you could? And it's a damn good question. JOEY: I've been wondering lately why things were different. Why I could talk to Eddie without being scared. When you're sixteen, so many of the choices you make are motivated by fear. Like one wrong move is the end of the world. And before Eddie, I was rotating in this high school circle. Adolescence kept repeating itself. But then I remembered, he didn't know me then, and there was something fearless about that. And suddenly I wasn't looking back. Maybe that's all it is. Taking a deep breath and forgiving yourself for yesterday's mistakes. You'll see Patrick tomorrow and want to punch his face in. But maybe he'll say something to change your mind. And you have to hear him, Harley. When I was your age, I let all the little things get in the way and I think there was a lot I didn't let myself hear. A lot that would have make things better. Don't be afraid to move forward. HARLEY: So if all this is because of Eddie, why didn't you follow him across the country? JOEY: It's not just about him, Harley. Not really. It's about me and what I'm ready for.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***CUT TO DOUG AND PACEY, KIND OF MAKING UP AND WITH THEIR DAD. CUT TO PACEY DRIVING UP TO THE LEERY'S IN HIS BMW. DAWSON IS THERE, BUT PACEY DIDN'T KNOW THAT. THE FOLLOWING IS A PORTION OF THEIR SCENE:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PACEY: I was in town. I wanted to check in on your mom, see how the work on the house was going. DAWSON: Wow, that's ... thank you.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***THEY GO ON TO TALK ABOUT GROWING UP AND THEIR DADS. THE FOLLOWING IS HOW THE SCENE ENDS:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAWSON: Hey, Pacey? PACEY: Yeah? DAWSON: I just made some coffee. Do you maybe wanna come inside? Sit down for a while? It's been a long day. Pacey looks at him and realizes that it's been a hell of a long time since he went into that house just to talk. And it sounds nice. He stands up, takes the rest of the wood that Dawson left behind, and starts to follow him inside. PACEY: Yeah, I'd like that.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***CUT TO JOEY AND DECISION TIME. SHE CALLS PACEY AND GETS HIS VOICE MAIL. SHE LEAVES THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE FOR HIM:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOEY: Hey. It's me. (beat) I thought I would have an answer when I picked up the phone, but I didn't. And then I thought I would come up with something as I was talking. No such luck. I think the problem might be trying to figure this out alone. We should probably do this together... shouldn't we? (beat) You know how they say if you could do it all over again, what would you change? Well, I would probably change a lot of things... but I'm also pretty lucky that I have the chance. I guess what I'm saying is, I'm not going to look at you and think of everything that happened, Pace. I'm just going to think of everything that could. (beat) Call me back. She hangs up the phone, a little nervous, a little excited. But not, for the first time in a long time, scared. End of Show.
(credit Roxy, courtesy of TWB)
The only thing I am worried about is Eddie coming back at the end of 617. The spoiler source says Joey is totally into Pacey and that's what I am getting from reading the spoilers.
Did you read the line where Joey says this to Pacey?
JOEY: ...I guess I wonder if you regret any part. But what I meant was... do you regret telling me what you told me? PACEY: Depends. Do you regret hearing it? JOEY: It's kind of hard to regret hearing something that's already been in the back of my mind. ...
I knew she wasn't over him. Bite me DJer's. I can't wait to hear the reactions of people who thought this was just a sweeps stunt.

Same here, LT. welweeeetaaaaa. And yes, the w's are on purpose. I just wanted to say that my understanding of Eddie's return is that he's only on for three more episodes after 17, and really, I don't see him as a problem at all. Eddie is in like six seconds of 17 as is.
I hope she is right. I hope they give us some good Joey and Pacey love scenes. This desk thing sounds hot. Do you think the writers purposely don't right DJ as a couple and know how bland they are together? Sometimes, I wonder.

I am new to the board and so first off I want to "hey" to everyone! I stopped watching DC when Pacey and Joey broke up but when I saw a preview that had them kissing I knew it was time to come back. I started watching last week and it was such a GREAT episode - although I know tomorrow's is going to be even better! I am going to hold onto the hope that at the end of this crazy DC thrill ride Pacey and Joey's love is the strongest thing left standing!

Hey everybody they are saying, that in the finale, Joey is not going to end up with Dawson or Pacey, i will personally destroy the life of the writers, if they put Eddie and Joey together in the finale. Joey and Pacey = True Love, Soulmates, Lovers. Dawson and Joey = Brother and Sister, best friends. Eddie and Joey = the one with no future and the one that needs to be with Pacey.

I just cannot believe that the writers would bring to the surface the mutual passion, love and desire for each other that Pacey and Joey have only to have them be broken up by someone else. It would go totally against Joey's character who - I would like to believe - would not be with one guy if she still had feelings for another. It was made obvious to us last week that Joey's heart still belongs with Pacey and vice versa - no way can they rip it away now and expect us to believe that it was all a lie!

I knew about the Eddie crap. I like this place too much to upset everyone. It's unfortunately true. I hate Eddie. He is a not talent hack and will never come close to the Pacey and Joey chemistry. Here's a pic to make me feel better. "Why won't Pacey talk to me? I only brought this boring loser Eddie here to make him jealous." Pacey: He doesn't seem to comfortable, now does he. He may notice you moved your elbows over to me." Eddie: "I hate it here. There's something going on between those two, I just know it." Eddie fucking who? Die a painful death.

The spoilers are getting worse and worse. I want to throw a brick at my tv. My only hope is that the show doesn't end with the hellmates. If nothing else, Katie hates the Dawson and Joey relationship and has stated she doesn't want them to end together. Right now, I only hate Joey Potter.

TY, who do you think you are. How dare you call us Pacey and Joey fans pathetic? In my opinion, they are the greatest couple ever. I am so sick of hearing about Dawson. Dawson and Joey were broken up a year when Joey and Pacey got together. Who the hell cares that he was her first love? You know what, Audrey knew what she was getting into by dating Pacey. Do you recall a 503 conversation? How boys never get over Joey. That was when Joey went to see Pacey. I am so sick of hearing about how great Eddie is. He leaves Joey at Christmas and doesn't even contact her while they are still in a relationship and only came back because he thought she was pregnant. You are entitled to your opinion and we are entitled to ours. Pacey and Joey have more chemistry in their finger than Joey has with Dawson or Eddie. I will back it up if I need too.

I have 617 dialogue. It has a jealous Joey over Pacey and a girl. Then, in 618, she supposedly wants Eddie. It makes no sense. Someone was on the set and saw them film it and based an opinion on it.
Sharone at PN Here's some more from 617 to chew on. It's right before the hot desk action. We always knew that P/Jo fights/banter made for some good lovin:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- P: Nice timing. Where was this professional attitude when you were pouring coffee all over aht reporter? J: Oh, don't say "that reporter" like you haven't burned her name into your memory! P: You know, if you're jealous, this is eally not the best arena to play it out in. J: Jealous! Hardly. (a beat as she recalls her behavior) Okay. I had a mild psychotic lapse. Which is odd. Why would I be jealous? P: Do you really wanna work through all this right now? J: It's kinda ridiculous, really. It's not like you would be drawn to such a shrewd businessy type. (beat) Right? P: It doesn't matter, because you're not jealous, right? (a beat. Joey is sheepish) In fact, I'd like to write Ms. Shaw an apology. Take a letter please, Miss Potter. (credit TWB)
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pacey and Rich laugh at her sparking wit in the way that men laugh at gorgeous women who haven't said something all that brilliant.
P: Come on in, Sadia. Joey, could we get some coffee?
Joey narrows her eyes. This is war.
J: (sweetly) Right away Mr. Witter. Let me just whip up a batch. S: (calling after her, chipper) Thank you!
Joey swishes out of the room, checking behind her to see if anyone's appreciating it. But Pacey and Rich are otherwise engaged in getting Sadia comfortable. Joey narrows her eyes again.
WAR. {credit TWB)
-Pacey and Joey are reunited by the end of this episode and are clearly into one another. They go on their first date in the teaser. (credit Roxy at PN)
***JOEY WILL WORK IN PACEY'S OFFICE. (credit TV Gal)
***JOEY VISITS PACEY AT HIS OFFICE, AND RICH SUGGESTS THAT SHE FILL IN AS PACEY'S ASSISTANT FOR A COUPLE WEEKS. SHE COMES IN TO WORK THE NEXT DAY AND WACKY HIJINKS ENSUE. SHE ENDS UP EMBARRASSING PACEY (IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY) IN FRONT OF RICH AND A REPORTER (MYSTERY WOMAN FROM EPISODE 612), WHO IS THERE TO INTERVIEW THEM. LATER, PACEY GOES TO THE HELL'S KITCHEN TO "FIRE" JOEY. HE TELLS HER IT WON'T WORK BECAUSE WHENEVER HE SEES HE, HE ONLY THINKS OF ONE THING. THEY KISS AND AGREE TO MEET AT HIS PLACE, AND THAT'S WHEN EDDIE SHOWS UP. (credit Monica at FF)
-Joey, in a fit of jealousy, pours coffee all over some chick. (credit Roxy at FF)
***THE FOLLOWING IS A SNIPPET OF DIALOGUE BETWEEN PACEY AND JOEY:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PACEY: Thanks for not setting those papers on fire and throwing them at me. I think you're really getting good at this. JOEY: Is there something you'd like to say? PACEY: What was that today, Joey? JOEY: How do you know that woman? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-The following is a snippet of a scene between P/J at his office:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PACEY: Please forgive my assistant's behavior. She's new at this and ... Joey crosses her legs. Pacey can't help but enjoy that. PACEY: ... very bad. JOEY: What was that last part? Something moronic followed by something inane? They stare at each other for another moment, then LEAP AT EACH OTHER OVER THE DESK, KISSING WILDLY. Joey's half up on the desk, things are falling everywhere. It's all very messy and ridiculous, but quite sexy all the same. Just as it's getting PLEASINGLY HOT AND HEAVY, Rich walks in.
(credit The Wicked Bostonian at PN) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***THE FOLLOWING IS A SNIPPET OF A SCENE BETWEEN PACEY AND JOEY:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PACEY: Yes, but I know you're there. And I never would have gotten this far if you were five feet away from me all day Joey. Trust me. JOEY: Oh really? Why not? PACEY: You're really milking it for all it's worth, aren't you? JOEY: Yes, Mr. Witter, I am. PACEY: It just so happens, Joey, that whenever you're within five feet of me, twenty even, there's pretty much only one thing I want to do. JOEY: Do tell. He smiles and they lean in towards each other and tenderly kiss each other. It's lacking the awkward moment of their earlier date and the anger of their fight in the office. In short. It's kinda perfect.

Episode 618 - Unknown Title
-This episode will air on April 9.
***AUDREY AND JACK NOT APPEAR IN THIS EPISODE, AS PER EARLY VERSIONS OF THE SCRIPT. (credit Monica at FF)
-The outline contains an Eddie/Joey kiss (it may just be Eddie kissing Joey), a Dawson/Audrey scene, and Dawson/Pacey antics. There is also a Pacey/Joey scene after the Eddie/Joey scene. (credit hoydenish at FF)
***PACEY AND JOEY CHAPERONE A DANCE THAT HARLEY ATTENDS. (credit sharone at PN)
***JOEY HAS A "SHOCKING REVELATION" OR A "MOMENT OF CLARITY" IN THIS EPISODE. (credit Stela and Monica at FF)
***THIS EPISODE PICKS UP RIGHT WHERE EPISODE 617 LEAVES OFF. JOEY IS SURPRISED TO SEE EDDIE. HE TELLS HER HE CAME BACK FOR HER. HE WAS PRACTICING WHAT HE WAS GOING TO SAY TO HER, AND THE VERSION IN HIS MIND ALWAYS ENDED WITH THEM KISSING AND HAVING SEX ON THE BAR. HE ALSO SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT SEEING THEM MARRIED SOMEDAY. SHE TELLS HIM IT'S TOO LATE AND THAT SHE'S MOVED ON. HE LEAVES, BUT SHE LOOKS TORN UP AND CONFLICTED. (credit Monica at FF)
***JOEY WAS SUPPOSED TO MEET PACEY AT HIS PLACE WHEN EDDIE REAPPEARED. PACEY WONDERS WHY SHE STOOD HIM UP AND WHY SHE'S ACTING WEIRD. THEY HAVE TO ESCORT HARLEY AND PATRICK TO A PROM/DANCE, AND JOEY IS ACTING ANGSTY AND MAKING HER USUAL FACIAL EXPRESSIONS (THE SCREEN DIRECTION DETAILS THEM). SHE AND PACEY FINALLY GO OUTSIDE AND TALK. SHE TELLS HIM THAT IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK. HE TELLS HER THAT SHE SEEMED PRETTY SURE BEFORE, BUT SHE KEEPS SAYING NO. SHE SAYS SHE HAD FUN HANGING OUT WITH HIM, BUT SHE DOESN'T WANT TO START DATING AGAIN. HE CONTINUES TO ARGUE, AND SHE FINALLY TELLS HIM THAT EDDIE IS BACK. PACEY BACKS OFF. HOWEVER, HE COMES BACK AND THINGS END SOMEWHAT AMICABLY. SHE GOES TO EDDIE'S PLACE AT THE END OF THE EPISODE. SHE DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING; SHE JUST KISSES HIM. (credit Monica at FF)
***JOEY INITIALLY REJECTS EDDIE, TELLING HIM THAT SHE HAS MOVED ON AND IS WITH SOMEBODY ELSE. WHEN EDDIE LEAVES, WE PAN TO JOEY'S FACE AS SHE REALIZES SHE JUST LET HIM LEAVE. JOEY GOES OFF FOR HER DAY WITH PACEY. JOEY SIDE-STEPS ANSWERING PACEY'S QUESTIONS ABOUT WHY SHE STOOD HIM UP THE NIGHT BEFORE. THEY GET PAST HER STANDING HIM UP AND GO TO CHAPERONE THE PROM. THE APPEAR TO BE HAVING FUN AND ENJOYING EACH OTHER, BUT THE STAGE DIRECTIONS IMPLY THAT JOEY IS CONFLICTED ABOUT EDDIE. SHE CAN'T GET INTO BEING WITH PACEY NOW THAT EDDIE IS BACK. SHE EVENTUALLY GATHERS THE COURAGE TO TELL PACEY THEY NEED TO TALK. THIS IS WHEN THEY "BREAK UP". PACEY CALLS HER OUT ON THEIR NIGHT TOGETHER, THEIR MUTUAL DECISION TO TRY, AND HER COMMENTS TO HIM ABOUT WANTING TO GO FOR IT. SHE TRIES TO EXPLAIN WITHOUT ACTUALLY EXPLAINING. SHE DOES NOT TELL PACEY ABOUT HER FEELINGS FOR EDDIE, BUT DOES DISCUSS HER FEELINGS FOR PACEY. SHE TELLS HIM THAT SHE CAN'T BE WITH HIM AND THAT HER HEART ISN'T IN IT. THEY DISCUSS THINGS A LITTLE FURTHER, AND SHE FINALLY TELLS HIM EDDIE CAME BACK. PACEY WALKS OFF AFTER HEARING WHAT SHE SAYS. HOWEVER, HE COMES BACK, THEY DANCE AND MAKE THEIR PEACE AND PART WAYS BEFORE SHE GOES TO EDDIE'S. WHEN EDDIE OPENS THE DOOR, JOEY PRACTICALLY JUMPS HIM. THEY ARE KISSING, AND THE EPISODE FADES OUT BEFORE WE CAN GET EDDIE'S REACTION. (credit hoydenish at FF)
***JOEY TELLS PACEY, "WE CAN'T DO THIS, PACEY. I MEAN, I CAN'T DO THIS, IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK." THEY TALK ABOUT THE PAST FEW DAYS TOGETHER, HIM QUESTIONING HOW SHE WAS ALL FOR IT YESTERDAY AND WONDERING WHAT HAS CHANGED. AFTER SOME BACK AND FORTH, HE ASKS HER WHY. SHE TOUCHES HIS CHEST AND TALKS TO HIM ABOUT HOW HE FEELS FOR HER. THEN SHE PLACES HER HAND OVER HER HEART AND SAYS, "I DON'T FEEL IT. I'M SORRY." (credit hoydenish at FF)
***JOEY TELLS HARLEY THAT EDDIE IS BACK. (credit hoydenish at FF)
***THE DECISION TO END THINGS BETWEEN PACEY AND JOEY IS NOT A MUTUAL ONE. IT'S JOEY'S DECISION. (credit hoydenish at FF)
***IT APPEARS THAT EDDIE IS ONLY IN THE TEASER AND THE FINAL SCENE OF THIS EPISODE. JOEY'S CONFLICT AND DECISION SEEM TO BE ALL ABOUT HER AND HOW SHE FEELS. SHE DOES NOT CHEAT ON PACEY. SHE'S RELUCTANT TO TELL HIM HOW SHE FEELS, BUT SHE DOES. PACEY QUESTIONS HER, AND SHE ANSWERS. JOEY MAKES IT KNOWN THAT IT'S NOT HIM, IT'S HER AND THAT HE'S GREAT AND WONDERFUL. JOEY IS VERY HONEST ABOUT EVERYTHING. (credit Stela at FF)

The latter, I'm afraid. But during the whole episode (esp. the dance), it's obvious she's not quite sure. Ahh it's rather complicated. During the break-up scene she seems to have made up her mind, although she's still not too confident about her choice. Could be just that she's afraid of hurting Pacey, but there might be more to that.
Basically earlier at the dance Joey often finds herself thinking what a great guy Pacey is, and so on. So that could mean hope.
Even though the dance in the end - as sad and touching it is - bring closure in some ways, Joey's still not sure if she'd made the right choice. At least that's what I sensed from it.
BTW, that spec of Pacey having a nightmare is SPECTACULAR. Just how brilliant would that be?
Seems, like she is confused. She tells Pacey he is a great guy. She must really be over him {insert sarcasm}
Here's more about someone who saw the scenes being filmed. It does make me feel a little better

I think you summarized it pretty well, which is something I haven't been able to do since I'm having these confused feelings about this issue constantly in my mind.
It's really very different to just read the script and then actually have it acted out. I think people want the fact that Joey might be regretting her decision to dump Pacey to be more obvious. And it would be obvious if it were in the script or in her words.
Then watching the scene and especially their gestures, eyes and simply their chemistry, it just makes me so confused. They really just never want the song to end. And Joey, well her sadness in that dance scene is so obvious. Pacey, though, shows what a brilliant man he's become by respecting Joey's choice at the end.

But the thing is I can't help it. The gestures are in contradiction with the words Joey said earlier. The break-up itself wasn't rude. It was really the way Joey just destroyed Pacey's dreams that hurt me as a P/Jer. I believe she was trying her best not to hurt him, but as he's pouring his heart to her, she has no choice but to tell the truth: it ain't gonna happen.
I don't think that at the moment they're dancing Joey is ready to change her mind back, cos just afterwards she takes the taxi to Eddie's parents' place.
It's really tough to try and know for sure what is really is that's making Joey so sad after the break-up. Could be that she's remembering all the good stuff between her and Pacey. Could be that she's sorry for treating Pacey like she did. Could be just that she's starting to realise what a great thing she just let slip away. Could be that she's still torn between Pace and Eddie.
I don't know, but sad she is for sure. There could be more good reasons, there probably is. But despite all the negativity of the previous scene between those two, the dance is so touching, even if it's the end. It is just too beautiful to describe.

He's not going to push Joey anymore. I too think it's lovely how just as he hears the word Eddie, he leaves. It's like he now has pride not to fight with Joey about that. He's just kind of letting her go, but with love. Joey didn't respond to any of his love declarations, so I think he knows there's not much he can do without coming off as a complete jerk. So be backs off, respects Joey's choice, even if it's killing him. Such a gentleman.
Hope that made at least sense.

I wish I got to see them film it. I want to see it acted out. I kind of agree. Pacey and Joey's chemistry might make the scenes seem different from what' s in the script.
