Roxy posted a scene at FF from early on in the beginning of the finale. Joey goes to see Pacey and it's after the initial hugs and kisses take place:
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joey's eyes drift to the wall behind the bar where a poster of "THE CREEK" hangs. She smiles. Pacey: Our boy did good. Can you believe that little independent movie he made -- got turned into the hit teen soap of the WB?
Joey: You've done good too, Pacey.
Pacey: And you.
A moment between then. It's quiet and nice. Finally...
Joey: How does it feel to see your life portrayed on television week after week?
Pacey: Dawson's been kind. He could have really stuck it to me. But, that Sam girl. A mixed up wreck that one.
Joey: Thanks.
Pacey: I'm sorry, I just have to hug you again. God, it's good to see you.
Pacey unespectedly gives her another hug. Joey hugs back. The moment full of emotional history.
That 'thing' between them, that 'it', that 'spark'. It's still exists. And, it's potent.
Just then, Joey looks over Pacey's shoulder to find Dawson standing at the end of the bar... watching. She breaks away as Pacey turns and sees him too. Silence.
End of Act Two.

and boo! hiss! to dawson ruining a perfectly good moment. ahh...just like Anti Prom. good old days.

Ok, take a look back in the spoilers here. There is a spoiler that said. When Pacey and Joey where at the dock after the fight with Dawson in 621. They said that when Joey is talking to Pacey, we learned how Joey and Pacey meet, it says, some thing about a Butterfly Garden or something.

-------------------------- Pacey's sitting alone on the dock, where he's obviously been doing some thinking and sobering up for a while. After a moment, Joey walks down and joins him.
J: You kay, Pace?
A moment, and then he wearily replies.
P: You don't have to do this. J: Do what? P: Check up on me. I know what you want to do. Go in there, Jo. Help him lick his wounds. You don't have to sit out here watching over the lost cause. What's the point, right?
Joey shakes her head frustrated.
J: Nothing ever changes here, does it? P: Nope. These are the roles we were destined to play. J: No, Pace, these are the ones we chose. Look at us. Sitting on this dock in front of the same house we've been haunting for years. We're practically ghosts of our former selves, Pacey. I don't even think anyone remembers what they're mad about anymore. P: I'm not so sure about that.
A moment. They look out over the Creek.
J: Do you remeber when we met?
He thinks about it trying to remember.
J: These people came to town - - do you remember? The natural History Museum in Boston lent us their butterflies. P: (remembering) Live butterflies. Hundreds of them. Yeah...they had them in a tent over the rose gardens. And Doug had me guard the screen doors so they wouldn't fly out. J: I think we were five. And my mom brought me, and I remember feeling like I was the queen of the world that day because Bessie didn't come. And you were guarding that door like it was the most important thing you'd ever done. P: Well, butterflies, you know. Very delicate. (beat) And then Dawson came with his dad. I was supposed to go over his house after. J: You did. But I asked if I could come too, remember? And you got all mad, and told me that Dawson was your best friend, like I was going to take him. P: The world seemes so small then. I couldn't imagine you two knowing each other. J: The three of us had only just met, Pace. P: And I was a jerk to you every single day after that. J: Well yeah. You though I stole your best friend. Probably seemed like the end of the world at the time. (beat) If I wanted to go back in that house, Pacey, I would have done it a long time ago. Don't you know me at all by now? P: I just don't want you sitting out here feeling sorry for me, Jo.

Re: CREEK SPOILERS - I refused... And so you fell for Pacey. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- given the final outcome, i could care less how joey reacts in the 2nd act of the first hour.
but whether we see the return of the Face or not, we know that pacey and joey keep on flirting at the table. . . which is what dawson also notices.
remember this scene happens the same night dawson has the dream.
karensisco is a media **** Posts: 1578 (5/4/03 2:03:18 pm) Reply Re: CREEK SPOILERS - 'Every time I'm around you, I'm happy.' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this is a reply to both pacenjo4eva and pozibility. the 623 and 624 scripts are not subtle. at all. so while there is not one particular moment in which dawson goes, "Aha! i see that pacey and joey still love each other," nearly every interaction that dawson has with either of them, it is clear that the one is thinking about the other.
with so many point blank hints right in the first hour, it seems like the "twists" and "turns"--beginning when jen collapses-- are just meaningless plot devices. i don't think they are meant to keep the audience guessing WHO joey will end up with but WHEN they will finally get together. once she is capeside, joey makes it known several times that she knows who she wants; she is just afraid to make a move.

make more sense?
That's what us PJer's have always said. She wanted Pacey and only wanted Dawson as a friend.

jen DOES have a role on the Creek; like jess said, joey wishes that she had jen's role.
i am not exactly sure which scene that is of joey walking in the rain. it is NOT when she is in paris (because she's wearing a scarf in those scenes). for the record, no caps from 624 have been released.
gale does not send joey to look after dawson. they get interrupted over trivial stuff like getting plates, etc. like i said, the "suspense" isn't really over who she chooses. after she talks to him, it is CLEAR that she wants to be with pacey. (which is why this idea that the show could end with d/jo on the dock is ridiculous). i think the audience may just be frustrated in terms of actually seeing them together. . . so the final scene of them together watching the show comes last.

ETA: i just want to emphasize that joey really does not make a "grand gesture." there is no wall, no PA announcement, no running to a dock. in fact, it is somewhat opposite of that-- more of a quiet moment. i'm interested to see how it will play out.

quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i think what mostly makes us d/jers sad is if she goes to tell jen she always knew who she wanted... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
in that particular context i am not sure joey is saying that her WHOLE life she has known that she has wanted to be pacey. but even if that's what she means, it doesn't mean that she didn't or couldn't love other people in between. she clearly loved dawson and eddie, too. but what she is saying is that pacey is THE ONE.
i think this is the exact same storyline that tom kapinos proposed when he said that he thinks dawson and joey met too early and had to have other important relationships before ending up together--something to that effect.
additionally, it sounds like if dawson and joey ended up together, some people would be willing to dismiss pacey and eddie as guys that joey really didn't love after all. but *this* storyline says that ALL of joey's past relationships are important in some way. it's not a zero-sum game where if joey loves pacey then she never loved dawson.

Pacey clearly acknowledges that he used to try to be worthy. He says as much to Joey more than a few times, not so much anymore.
What Pacey says in the second half of the script is that Joey makes him feel alive, and that life has a different reality with her in it (this is all said to Jen, for those keeping spoiler score). But Jen moves on to tell him that he needs to make himself feel alive and he needs to be happy in this life because he's not getting another chance. Pacey takes this to heart and like LT said, he essentially tries to choose himself in the end when Joey's Choice Changes Everything. Again.
The FUNNIEST part of the script is this line between two of the scenes. They seem harmless enough on their own, but when they are put together, heeeee! Lily asks Dawson what a soulmate is (and while Dawson is going on and on and on and on and on and on, and then on some more) Lily loses interest. But there is one line that Dawson says (they are also talking about a movie) that directly ties in to the Big Moment At The Wake between P/J. Essentially, TPTB are basically telling us that Joey is Pacey's soulmate. Heeeeeee. Pacey was just happy to be in love with her, he had come to the conclusion that was enough for him and ne needed to let her off the hook so he could be happy.

quote:
Pacey discussion with Doug ties more into the fact that Pacey has stopped trying to find love and seeks out impossible situations. Not that Joey is some sort of impossible situation (that is proven later).
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like he is giving up the fight cause he does not think he has a chance in hell of winning it. Which is when Joey calls him out on his insecurities. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am highlighting this again because it is most certainly not the case. Pacey doesn't "let Joey off the hook" because he doesn't have a chance, he lets her off because he wants to go on and be happy in his own life. That was Jen's wish for him, and it also directly ties in to the conversation between Dawson/Lily where he tells Joey that simply loving her has been enough for him. He makes that VERY clear. I don't know where you got the insecurity stuff from. The only thing that is even close to that is when he pokes fun at his own insecurities during (well, right before) the food fight.
Impossible situations keep him from feeling. If anything, Pacey's scared of his feelings for Joey because Joey has lacked the guts to make an actual decision in what, six (now ten) years? Even with regards to Dawson, he tells Jen flat out that it isn't like that anymore.
Another thing that is made clear before all of this mess is during the direction of the Pacey/ Joey scenes, or when they are interacting in the group. After the first time he kisses her in front of the B&B he drives away with a nervous smile. He knows. She knows. And it's really that simple. Pacey knows he can win this one, but what good is winning if it's a disappointment? Pacey had to let go of his idea of what "Joey" was to him in order to be able to move on. Like Joey said to him last week, he had to get out of his own way to find a place in his life for her. This time it was the one he actually wanted.

daaaaaamn. what a great discussion! anyhow, when i said that pacey has to "give up" something i was referring to something a little more specific. but let me explain it another way: when i first watched "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," i was *very* angry that pacey would help joey feel at ease at the worthington party but felt like he had nothing at stake. as a pacey fan, i wanted him to use his skills to make something "better" of himself, too. but pacey was simply content to love joey despite her y, wishy washy self. and like he said, he wanted people to see her from HIS point of view.
this version of pacey returns in the finale. it's like the Lloyd Dobler Pacey where he realizes that the job he does best--his "thing," so to speak--is to love joey unconditionally. every day. heh.
secondly, i want to address all of the people who are outraged over the "i've always known" line. what have you made of the patrick/harley scenario all of this time. the entire point of their mini-arc was to demonstrate the *possibility* that pacey and joey could have hooked up even earlier than they actually did. the advice that joey gives harley (a younger version of herself) is all about KEEPING patrick around because she knows that he is The One, despite his flaws. in "That Was Then" joey tells harley that the choices she made when she was 16 were motivated out of fear, not out of repressed love for some soulmate. and she says that she would have done things much differently if she could, which would have minimized the problems that she had with both pacey and dawson.

First off, the boy is fine. I'm almost angry at the wardrobe department for having him dress in such sad attire because Josh in a nice clean collared shirt gives me goose pimples.
All he talks about is that the finale has something to do with the cut above his eye (which we already know who it's from and why) and then he says "Other than that I think you should just watch because it's actaully going to be very good, the 2-hour episode, the finale!" He exaggerates on the word 'very' a little strong there.
Awww!
Josh loves P/Jo too! You can tell!

What cibershe said.
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Understood, but if that's the deal then, why does he end up with Joey? If he feels that he needs to go make himself feel alive? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What cibershe said.
In regards to Dawson wanting Joey. Dude, these two have barely even spoken in the last five years and they both know damn well that they aren't going to do much of that D/J "alone" time in the next five. They'll always be friends but as far as every Dawson needing a Joey and every Joey needing a Dawson, that's a frelling fantasy. Joey finally learns how to deal with him, in my opinion. Placate the fantasy, and live in reality. Heh.
Did I mention what cibershe said? That is totally my take on it. For once Pacey lets go, and if Joey wants to be with him she's going to be the one to put him first. Double growth as I like to call it. Pacey bucks up and stops being Pacey "I'm ****wipped by the surly **** (tm: eep!who?)" Witter, to Pacey "takes life by the balls" Witter in two sentences. And dude, if a guy ever said something like what Pacey says to Joey in that scene to me, I'd be doing UNGODLY things to him immediately afterwards.

See Rox, When Pacey says he is going to let JOey off the hook, he's finally breaking out of his shell of insecurity and starting a healthy adult life. He's accepted the fact that Joey will always be the one for him, but she may not necessarily recipricate the feelings. I think you see a tremendous amount of growth in Pacey during this one scene. I think Joey's moment of growth and clarity happens during her scene with Jen.
Dawson's realization on how things should happen is when he's taping Jen in the gardens, but that is my take on it.

Actually Rox, I can kind of see where you are coming from. But I got the whole "Pacey doesn't think he is good enough" idea from his discussion with Doug in the hospital in 623..and also from that second scene in the kitchen. He tells her he's letting her off the hook cause loving her is enough for him. Like he is giving up the fight cause he does not think he has a chance in hell of winning it. Which is when Joey calls him out on his insecurities.

Pacey needs to give up the notion that he is not good enough. Joey re-assures him that he is indeed *good enough* in the later part of 624.

Apparently the wb have been leaking 'phoney' scripts and that jen isn't gonna to die.
It might be Joey in a car accident driven by Dawson and she dies in his arms...
Intresting if true but most likely this one is the phoney spoiler
