They were friends. There's a rumor that JVDB liked Katie and I think they went out a few times, but they decided they didn't like each other like that. Then, she started going out with JJ. I don't know when though.

Yeah, in real life I think it would be that JVDB must of liked her but the second she saw JJ she was in love with him. Who wouldn't be?

I wonder if that caused a lot of friction on the set.

As I recently reported, while James Van Der Beek's Dawson and Joshua Jackson's Pacey duke it out to be Joey's ultimate amour, the two actors have been actively lobbying for their character to win. On this particular afternoon, K.H. sported a dark red, short-sleeve top and slightly faded jeans with her hair pulled back. Looked even sweeter than she does on the WB show and grinned as she waited for Josh to catch up.
In dark shorts and dark Polo shirt, J.J. trotted up to the young babe. (His closely shorn hair, by the way, was looking much fuller than in the first few D.C. eps.) Boy gave a smile and "thank you" hand wave to a car that stopped to let them cross the street.
With a friendly guy like that, no wonder Katie isn't spending her rare free time in J.V.D.B.'s trailer. Maybe she's sick of the blond brat's constant condescension every time she mispronounces one of the SAT-smelling words the writers put in her mouth.

Good news to hear.. hehehehehehehehe... Except with the whole trashing James Van Deer Beek issue.. Whoa, that was mean..
But, anyways, getting on the article's good side, I must admit, after reading it, I was in the giddy side..
Now analyze however you can, I really don't have anything else to say about it.. Just the fact that they are still apparently very close, and try to be "friends", quote and unquote.. lol..
I also heard, actually, even the Dawson's Creek newsletter said that when Josh and Katie was filming the Cinderella Story, and they were up to the part when they were gonna kiss.. Josh and Katie wanted it to be so perfect, they kept wanting to do the scene over and over again.. They wanted it to be the right time, the right scene, just the right moment.. So Josh and Katie had to do that scene over and over again, where Pacey grabs Joey's face and kisses her. The director wasn't the one who demanded the scene to be taken over and over again, it was Josh and Katie themselves..
Hmmm... so I could analyze it in two ways.. Josh and Katie just wanted to kiss each other over and over again, and their excuse was to make it perfect.. Or it could be simply that Josh and Katie finds the relationship between Pacey and Joey very important and amazing, that they feel they have to make the first kiss just right.. So either way, it's an awwwwww! LoL

I have noticed something. Did anyone watch the kissing scenes between Joey and Eddie and Joey and Dawson? I find them pathetic. Seriously, there is no emotion or passion. The love scenes with both were just as bad. It's like they just put their lips together. I am serious.

Compare this to when Joey use to kiss Pacey. They looked like they were so in love and actually enjoyed kissing each other. The love scenes of a Winter's Tale were so good.

Definitely have a point there! It's so obvious that they worked the best on screen "together". I don't think the writers ever anticipated this though. As they wanted the viewers to fall for Dawson and Jo but didn't realize how much in love P&J were and that there scenes blew everyone away. Thus causing a conflict on how the "initial" storyline should go.

If Pacey would of been Dawson from the start (switch characters) it so could of been a go.
