Well, it kind of sucks that the show ended the way it did. For one, the show should not have gone past season 4. After that, it turned into a soap-opera. Anyway, going back to the ending. If Pacey was going to end up with Joey, the show should have been called Pacey's Creek. Are you following? You get the fundamental flaw in the plot? It's a pity that the writers messed things up, especially after season 3. I thought things would get better, but evidently, they got worse. Very disappointing to say the least. Regardless of who ends up with who, and all that stuff... Dawson's character fades out of the series... Pacey's character is clearly undefined... Jen's is lost... Seasons 1, 2 and 3 made me a regular viewer... the rest of the seasons had me hoping for something better. Let me know if you feel the same.

Remember an important concept... KW took events from his childhood and blended them into the story. If you have the season one dvd, they have interviews from KW as well as the cast..Very interesting stuff..
What reason did they have to suddenly change and magnify the relationship between Pacey and Joey..What was the reason.? In the beginnig they hated each other..Or did they? pacey had to always tell his best friend Dawson that Joey was crazy about him. Why? How did he know?

Hey Guys! I know that some are gonna not be happy with what I post. One because I have already been mentioned in the thread for my D/J videos. I still love them but after KW left the show it really changed. I think things would have been written differently if he had stayed with his show but he didn't and in Season 3 I didn't recognize the characters and most of all the witty dialogue I loved wasn't there either. So I quit watching. I didn't watch until I saw a preview of The Longest Day. So of course also hated how the Season 3 finale ended. Well I have recently watched the repeats on TBS and I think that Pacey and Joey are a Great couple now. I never saw the build up before and now see why the fans wanted them together. I still love Dawson and Joey as well. I honestly think both are Wonderful couples. I don't know if KW had written the triangle which I think their would have been one eventually. The show may have turned out different. DC turned into a completely different show after he left. In Season 3 P/J and the conflict with Dawson was the only interesting aspect. I honestly think it saved the show. Without that storyline that season would have been very forgettable. Yes the show is called Dawson's Creek but that doesn't mean he should definetely get the girl. I hated the writing of D/J after KW left. The relationship completely changed. They weren't as close and just kept hurting each other over and over again. I especially hated Dawson blaming Joey for Mitch's death. In the season 5 finale I hated that Joey didn't go to LA with Dawson. I mean she went with Pacey at the end of Season 3. I had hope for Season 6 that maybe we would finally get more but again the writer's had Dawson hurt Joey by not telling her of his girlfriend. Then of course we never even saw them together on show again for months. Like many I figured since KW was writing the finale they would finally get together but the truth is P/J are the ones that had a long lasting relationship and the way things were written I think it was fitting for them to get together in the end. To me the magic of D/J was not there after KW left. KH and JJ played off really well together and the writer's and fans went with it. While not really resolving D/J because they wanted to keep viewer's guessing. So they gave little moments like the Season 4 and 5 finales. Along with the Season 6 premiere. The writer's wanted to keep the shipper wars going as long as they could. Looking back though I honestly think after KW was gone the original vision of DC went with him. The truth is most of the time the couple that you don't ever think would get together is the one than become most popular. It happen on soaps all the time. I can name many examples of unexpected couples. There are 2 that are very prominent to me. Luke and Laura Daytime's biggest Supercouple. Another which is my number one ship is Spike and Buffy. Both of these couples were not planned in anyway the fans reaction to them made them happen. The same happened with Pacey and Joey. Alright I am done with my post. lol This is just my opinion. I know some will disagree but I just felt like letting this out. Jaime Bee www.jaimebees.com

I agree, that after KW left the show, it changed the plot and direction of the story..For me, the connection of P/J made it interesting... There is no question that if a fan watched the show because they liked the D/J story with Pacey being the best freind, then it's absolutely understandable why the change would turn you off to the show. I couldn't stand Dawson from the beginning..I thought he was a moron( just my personal opinion) as Joey cleary expressed signs of affection for him and he ignored it.
No question Pacey became a stronger character, when KW left. No question in my mind that JJ carried the show. No question that Joey became a much happier person after she finally accepted her feelings of affection for Pacey.
So I didn't have any care to watch the show till season 3.
At first I thought the portrayal of P/J from the end of saeson 3 through 4 was a result of JJ and KH real life relationship. But a bio on the show revealed they were only involved in season 1. So it appeared they were simply working well together, and probably good friends..
But that's something we might get to hear more about on the dvd commentaries, maybe?
What's really amazing, is that for all the fans who got turned off by the changes in DC after season 2, There sure are a lot of fans who appreciated what Paul Stupin did with P/J because there is so many stories written all over the web which has P/J together.

I didn't really care about either couple by the end of the show. I think she should have been with someone else. Like that guy we saw at the begining of the finale. He made her bearable. Or maybe it was because it was only one scene

What I liked about the Joey/Pacey relationship was that it was unpredictable. Dawson and Joey seem to be much more "routine" if you want to put it that way. Almost as if they were going through the motions. Joey and Pacey had the passion. IMO

I just watched back all those episodes and my heart will never stop to think that dawson will, by all means, end up with joey.. they always be nervous, passionate towards each others.. dawson used to be very annoying especially in the first season, but he did grow up throughout the series. I love to see dawson during the fifth & sixth episodes. My fav episodes would be the one that joey became upset to see dawson with jen back together. The two first episodes from season 6 were totally awesome too. But I do think the writers did not give justice to the dawson.. pacey was definitely a player, he slept with all the gals in dc.. couldnt imagine why joey will be better with that kind of guy.. of course joey was annoying too sometimes.
