Meet the Devil

The movie's plot is about a detective of the New York homicide department makes a dubious deal with a murderer who seems to have supernatural abilities. He promises to bring the dead wife of the cop back to life in exchange for impunity. Although feeling guilty, the cop agrees to make the deal but discovers later that the return of his wife is only the first step of an evil plan. There is no current start date for this project.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Former "Dawson's Creek" star Joshua Jackson is returning to series television with a lead role in a CBS legal drama pilot.

The untitled project, from "CSI" executive producer Carol Mendelsohn, revolves around brilliant legal associates at a powerful D.C. law firm who battle moral, ethical and legal challenges under the tutelage of a ruthless managing partner.

Jackson will play a first-year associate whose career takes an unexpected turn when he is assigned the case of a death row inmate.

The actor, who played Pacey Witter on "Dawson's," will next be seen in the indie features "Bobby" and "Aurora Borealis." Last year, he starred opposite Patrick Stewart in the stage production of David Mamet's "A Life in the Theater" in London's West End.

Joshua Jackson commits to 'The Affair' for Showtime

Fringe and Dawson’s Creek alum Joshua Jackson is making the jump to Showtime for the cable channel’s pilot The Affair. Jackson will play a Long Island cowboy (that’s not a metaphor, his character actually manages a ranch) in the drama that deals with spouses, wandering eyes, and the effects of an affair on two families.

The Wire’s Dominic West was previously announced as a cast member. He’ll play Noah, a high school teacher with four kids who begins an affair with Cole’s (Jackson) wife Allison (Luther’s Ruth Wilson.) Maura Tierney (The Good Wife) also stars in the pilot as Helen, Noah’s college sweetheart and wife of 17 years.

House of Cards producer and writer Sarah Treem is heading up the project with her In Treatment colleague Hagai Levi and Mark Mylod (Shameless). The press release announcing the news notes “this provocative, one-hour relationship drama will be told separately from the male and female perspective.”

Diane Kruger Wanted to "Slap" Joshua Jackson After Their First Kiss

Love at first sight? Hardly.

According to Diane Kruger, her boyfriend of seven years Joshua Jackson didn't make the best first impression when they began dating in 2006. During a Sept. 17 appearance on TBS' Conan, the Bridge actress explained why she wasn't always so keen on the former Fringe star.

"He thinks he asked me out on a date, which is not true, because I did not agree to that. I agreed to have drinks with him," Kruger, 37, said of Jackson, 35. "I actually had plans with someone else for dinner, so I know I didn't say yes to dinner. We were sitting at the bar, and it's nine o'clock, and I'm ready to leave. And he was like, ‘Let's go, we have dinner reservations.' And I felt really bad because he looked very eager and he put on a clean shirt. And so I was like, 'Ok, fine. Let's go.'"

Despite his best efforts, Jackson had a hard time charming Kruger. "He took me to this romantic place, which is kind of awkward when I think of it—it was a little intense," the German beauty said. "It was overgrown with beautiful flowers, to which I had a huge allergic reaction—like really, really bad. I was sneezing and coughing and my eyes were watery."

"I thought he might say, 'Let's call it a day. I'll bring you home.' And of course not. He talked about himself for an hour and a half. Nonstop," she continued. "He took me back to my hotel in his car, which was a piece of s--t. Excuse me, but it was. The door was eaten by his dog, it smelled so bad. If you know Josh, you know he was not the tidiest of guys, so trust me, it was not cute."

Jackson seemed unaware that the date was not going well. "He leaned in for a kiss," Kruger recalled. "I swear to God, at the end, I was like 'Should I slap him?'"

The Dawson's Creek alum redeemed himself the following day when he sent Kruger flowers—with a box of Kleenex, of course.
