Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled A Game of Thrones. Filmed in a Belfast studio and on location elsewhere in Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia, Iceland, and Morocco, it premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011. The series has been renewed for a fourth season, to air in 2014.
The series, set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos at the end of a decade-long summer, interweaves several plot lines. The first follows the members of several noble houses in a civil war for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms; the second covers the rising threat of the impending winter and the mythical creatures of the North; the third chronicles the attempts of the exiled last scion of the realm's deposed dynasty to reclaim the throne. Through its morally ambiguous characters, the series explores the issues of social hierarchy, religion, loyalty, corruption, sexuality, civil war, crime, and punishment. It is the most recent big-budget work to have contributed to the popularity of the fantasy genre in mainstream media.

Well I got hooked on the show through being forced into watching it  but eventually got hooked on it and I am right up to date on the show. I haven't read the books but friends are trying to get me to read them. I love Khalessi and her dragons, hence the nickname

It is almost at the end of season 3 now. I fell head over heels for Drogo will try and sort pictures tomorrow. Oh you should watch it its very good. My partner has read all the books whereas I haven't so what happens next is a surprise but from what I believe it follows the books well. Will need to get some videos etc in here too

Oh well... I guess I was wrong too! LOL And yeah, pictures and videos-- well we might not know what's going on though. maybe from the beginning? Are the books better than the show? I could always look for the book this week. What's the name of it?

Well its certainly different to the programmes mentioned above but I personally love it as much as the shows above. Characters I love and hate and couples etc. There is no way you won't love the dragons. And Peter Dinklage who is in it is so funny. I prefer the show but my partner likes the books. I will post them when I locate them online

Well, okay... I'm definitely going to look for the book tomorrow (do you know the name of the first book by chance?) and I will watch it this summer for sure! (I wish they had it on Netflix- but will have to stream it instead). Still have to stream the last season of SOA too.

OOOooooo... Thank you for those links! I will definitely put that first one on my next order along with the second book of Mortal Instruments! And onto some general discussion... I had to tell you last night I got up to episode 9 finally! Whoo-hoo... I am starting to make some progress! OMG, about Geoffrey taking over as King and his Mom ripping up the paper!

I know! And loved the whole scene with Khalessi's brother and the "gold crown" of death part. Cant wait for these dragon eggs to hatch already! Her and Drogo (is it?) do make an awesome couple!  And Geoffrey is just a little shit.

Oh my god I loved that episode. Drogo is  I think he is totally hot ! They rock as a couple and those eggs hatch soon. Are you getting hooked on it? Geoffrey is awful. I want him dead. Let's start a campaign

OMG?! I made it past season one last night! I'm on season two episode two now.. And holy crap-- I'm soooo upset about the witch doing that magic on Drogo and now he won't wake up-- but I'm trying to not be too upset because I'm thinking if you and Stalker are still talking about him now in season 3 then he must wake up again.  And I saw the DRAGONS! They are sooooooo flipping cute! Love it, love it, love it! Geoffery killed her father-- I really HATE him now. I wished she would have pushed him over the bridge. I'm in with the Let's kill Geoffrey campaign!  I also like Snow so far.
