Jen, that guy was basically telling Vaughn that he could nail his ass for helping Sydney rescue Will after he had told the CIA that he was suspicious of her actions lately...unless he convinced Sydney to talk to her mom. Thus, the blackmail.

Her mom totally confuses me. I still don't know what to think of her. That smile at the end of the episode after Sydney laid down the law with her... Not sure what to think about her and her loyalties yet.
Love how Vaughn just keeps getting more and more protective of Sydney. Too cute! I felt bad for him when he went and talk to Irina, especially when she said he looked just like his father.
And poor Sydney...did you see her face when her mom pushed her hair behind her ear like Sydney always does?!
I can't wait for next week!

Yeah, Irina killed Vaughn's dad...and that's why she said Vaughn looks just like him...to get to Vaughn. The hair thingy was the very first thing when Sydney and Irina meet at the cell and Sydney asked her a question. Irina paused and then did the hair thing and I swear Sydney about died right there. You could just she the realization that she does something her mother does!
