Nope. I wasn't aware there was a book until the book signing pictures were posted on the Alias thread!

Of course. :) I've just read the introduction so far. Basically. JJ Abrams thanking everyone..the cast, the writers, the writer of the book (Mark Cotta Vaz), the crew, and the views.
Next up is a "memo" from Mark Cotta Vaz to the book publisher about the Themes of the Alias. More info later...

Ok..The "memo"

Basically, Mark Cotta Vaz just talks about how he prepared for his visit to the Alias set. He read Bond books. He intially compared Sydney to Emma from The Avengers, but came to realize that Sydney is not just "eye-candy", she's intelligent, beautiful, and know's how to kick ass! He talked about his first trip to the Disney lot where they film Alias and how surreal it was.

Alias is filmed in Orlando? Or CA? at Disney? Wow. I didn't know that. Very cool! I wonder if she'll be kicking Mickey's ass anytime soon? :drink

Ok...Star Profiles

Basically, they went through and did tiny bios on each of the cast...Jennifer, Victor, Ron, Michael, Carl, Bradley, Kevin and Merrin. Very tiny bios and then a tiny bit about the character they play. It also lists the 11 emmy nominations it recieved for the first season. :clap :clap

The Beginning..."And So It Begins..."

Mark Cotta Vaz walks you through the set of Alias. SD6 and Sydney's apartment are permanent sets. Vaughn's office, the newsroom, and Devlin's office where all one interchangable set. Weird. He walks through the production offices as well. It does talk about the fact that Abrams actually came up with the idea of Alias while writing for Felicity. Who knew! :) Abrams beams about Jennifer and how beautiful and smart and funny she is...she's the girl next door, but she can kick your ass! :lol

The Writer's Room

Chapter 2 was all about the writers and their process. They have a huge bulletin board with index cards outlining each story and character and important plot points. Jennifer even snuck in to check out the board to see where the story was going, but got so excited about pulling off her own "spy move," that she forgot what she read! They write what's called "The Fifth Act." Basically, a general show is 4 parts (acts) and the story is resolved. But the Alias writers do what we all love and leave each show with a cliffhanger and the "Fifth Act" is the first part of the next show. It resolves the matter and the writer's are devoted to it. Last season they had a general idea what important issues they wanted to come about, but no idea how to go about it. I.E...Sydney's mom is KGB and comes back from the dead. It was just a matter of getting to their specific plot points. Evidently, everyone of the writers love writing for Will, but the audience hates him! They found that out through focus groups and internet message boards. :grin

"The World of Alias"

Chapter 3...This chapter talks about the characters more indepth and their relationships with each other. Victor and Ron actually both read for the part of Jack, but Abrams thought Ron would do a wonderful job as Sloane instead. Its discusses the color palette...Sydney's personal life is done in alot of warm colors, SD6 is all about grays and blues, and the CIA is about browns..being proper. SD6 was to be sleek--the CIA was more bland. The custome designer for Alias never got to do any drawings for Sydney's clothes. She basically would throw things together because of the quick pace of a tv series. So, after the season, she had some of Sydney's outfit's drawn and they are shown in the book.
