More on Michael's role... *this article was written before he was cast*
FilmJerk.com has learned that the New Line Cinema feature "Monster-in-Law" is now looking for two items: A new title and a leading man, able to hold his own with leads Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda.
The film, which begins filming in Los Angeles this May, will be directed by Robert Luketic ("Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!" and "Legally Blonde") and is currently hailing itself as the "Untitled Jennifer Lopez/Jane Fonda Feature." Sources say that the name of the production should change in the near future, although declined to say what the new name might be.
The leading male role, Kevin, is listed as being between 28 and 35 years old; this poor fellow is going to marry Lopez and have Fonda for a mother (Ben Affleck need not apply). The film focuses on a woman who thinks she has found her perfect man‹ until she meets his mother. In an interview with MTVNews.com, Luketic explained that the film is "an interesting, emotionally complex piece about two very strong women coming together and forcing the other to like her despite the fact that she doesn't."
