You guys are crazy! ;)

But I have to admit, Orlando looks mighty fine as Legolas! ;)

Who would have thought that long blond hair and pointy ears could look so good on a guy!

Well, maybe we're crazy, but we definitely like it that way - although I still maintain that I'm Fehrly sane ;)

Yes, Legolas is just such a hot elf... I love it when he speaks elvish... I don't know why, it's just a turn-on for me :dunno

Thought we needed some quotes...

From Fellowship of the Ring:

Boromir: It is a gift. A gift to the foes of Mordor! Why not use this ring? Long has my father, the Steward of Gondor, kept the forces of Mordor at bay. By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe. Give Gondor the weapon of the enemy. Let us use it against him!
Aragorn: You cannot wield it. None of us can. The One Ring answers to Sauron alone. It has no other master.
Boromir: And what would a Ranger know of this matter?
Legolas: This is no mere ranger! He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance.

***

Legolas: A shadow and a threat have been growing in my mind.

***

Legolas: There is a fell voice on the air.

***

Legolas: A lament for Gandalf...
[heard in the background]
Merry: What do they say about him?
Legolas: I have not the heart to tell you. For me the grief is still too near.

***

Legolas: We cannot linger.

From The Two Towers:

Legolas: [in Elvish] You're late.
[in English]
Legolas: You look terrible.

***

Legolas: A red sun rises, blood has been spilled this night.

***

Éomer: What business does an elf, man, and a dwarf have in the Ridder-Mark? Speak quickly!
Gimli: Give me your name horse-master and I shall give you mine.
Éomer: [dismounts] I would cut off your head, dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground.
Legolas: You would die before your stroke fell!

***

Aragorn: Not idly do the leaves of Lorien fall.
Legolas: They may yet be alive.

***

Gimli: Some of them have seen too many winters.
Legolas: Or too few.

***

Legolas: They run as the very whip of their masters were behind them.

***

Gimli: What's happening out there?
Legolas: Shall I describe it to you...or would you like me to go find you a box?

***

[During the Battle of Helm's Deep, Gimli has killed an Uruk-Hai warrior]
Gimli: Legolas! Two already!
Legolas: I'm on seventeen!
Gimli: What! I'll have no pointy ear outscoring me!
Legolas: [shoots two more arrows] Nineteen!

Be back later with some pics. ;)

:lol :lol Thank you for the quotes, Jenny! :flowers I loved the entire counting thing between him and Gimli! They cut it short in the movie though; in the book it was a lot more explicit, I think.

Believe it or not, but nowhere in LotR (the novel) does it say what color Legolas' hair color is, and, in fact, a case can be made that it's actually brown. There is, honest and truly, a debate over the color of Legolas' hair.

The body count thing from Helm's Deep is a bit more drawn out in the novel. I'm glad PJ included that. Now, if he'd only seen fit NOT to bring the Lothlorien elves to Helm's Deep, that would have been even better...

Oh, ditto, Zook. I get beyond mad over the Helm's Deep scene. :shake :wall

And are you sure Legolas' hair is supposed to be brown? :thinking Now I have to read the novel again...I always thought he was blonde in the books as well.

I sitll haven't finished reading the books ('cause I'm a slacker). I need to do that!

The title of this thread reminded me. There is a town about an hour from here named EFland, and everytime I see it, I read it as ELFland. :lol Just a random bit of information for you. ;)
