I'm currently reading a book on Greek Mythology. It's really interesting. It's like a soap Opera, lol.

Just pretend it's a soap opera, because that's basically all it is! Who slept with who. Who's so-and-so's father/mother. Who loves who and shouldn't...Soap opera stuff!

Mythology isn't the only soap opera out there on the shelves. The monarchies of Europe are a total goldmine for that stuff. My personal passion is for the Tudor monarchy of England (1500's to 1600's). A total soap opera. Really, if they'd just teach the juicy stuff in schools, kids would be hooked! I mean, Henry VIII marries his elder brother's wife after bro kicks the bucket. She has one kid, a girl, and lots of stillbirths. Now Henry gets a wandering eye and wants to find a way to get rid of Wife #1 because he's all aflame with lust for one of her ladies-in-waiting. End result is he breaks off from Rome, forms the Anglican church, of which the king is the head, divorces Wife #1, marries #2. #2 births a girl, stillbirths a boy. Henry is getting sick of #2. Trumped up charges of adultery result, her head is whacked off. #3 dies soon after giving birth to a boy. #4 comes in from overseas, Henry is very much not attracted to her, has marriage annuled (he never slept with her, after all). #5 is young enough to be his daughter, gets busted screwing around on Henry, head is chopped off. #6 is a widow who gets on great with the stepkids (all three of them). Henry dies. There's more soap opera to the Tudors, but I don't want to go on all night.

I learnt all the juicy stuff about the Tudors in school. Where abouts do you live because in Britain there was this really interesting TV show about each of Henry's wives. I don't want to sound like a dork but it was fascinating.

I live in the US, and I think I saw the program you're talking about. IT was on public broadcasting in my area and, yes, it was very good. I enjoyed it.
