She starts going on and on about how sorry she is... as I look at the Jeep.

No big deal.

And then she catches my eye as she turns and tries to hide the limp.

"Maria... come here. You hurt your leg... didn't you? Are you sure your okay? Come on... let me see it..."

Sweet Jesus. I think my leg is sprained or something.

"No, it's... fine. I'm okay."

But she sits down anyway, insisting that her leg doesn't hurt, even though it does - she just wrecked Max's car, and now he's going to think she's trying to fake an injury to get out of some sort of lecture.

Maria looks at Max. Says nothing, and bites her bottom lip.

"Okay, so it does hurt. And I wrecked your car, and now we have no way to get around, because I can't even walk properly, and so now I ruined your whole trip or run away thing, whatever this is now, and we're stuck in the middle of... somewhere... I'm hot, and thirsty, and..."

She tries not to cry. Very hard. But a tear escapes her eye and she wipes it away.

Great, now he thinks I'm a whine-ass. Everyone does, why not Max too? One more friend to pity me. Go DeLuca.

"I'm sorry."

"Cute? This? No. Maria DeLuca is not cute. The ditz, everyone says - the wacky best friend to perfect, beautiful, Liz Parker."

She then looks at him.

"I'm sorry. I just... keep saying that, don't I? Yeah... look, you don't have to fix my leg, but it would be really nice if you could. Thank you."

She then tries her best to smile as he raises his hand up over her leg, a glow radiating from it...

Uh-oh.

Maria grabs Max's hand and is pulled to her feet. Surprisingly, the pain is gone. She looks up at him and murmurs,

"We're gonna have to run."

Sadly, I have checked and cannot find the url for the Part three of this story and all the posts from this thread. Ezboard has stated this:

A. Invisible replies within a topic may be caused by replying to a corrupt post. To get around this, use the top "add reply" button rather than the bottom one. You shold only need to add one reply in that method to get the thread working again. At this point in time the invisible posts will still be invisible however. We are working on a fix for this bug which will make any invisible replies show up in the topic.

Q. I still have some invisible topics at my board, can you get them to show up?
A. An invisible topic is one which has been restored and can be accessed with a direct link, but does not show in the topic listing. If you can provide the url of a topic that you can access, but does not show up on the list please post it, and we can reload that forum. Reloading will only make invisible topics visible, but will NOT restore anything beyond what is already restored.

If we can find the url to part 3 they might be able to find the 'invisible' post, otherwise a large part of this story is gone and is therefore impossible to continue/re-write. My apologies.
