Grey's Anatomy's, Katherine Heigl, Hits the Big Screen in Los Angeles for Exclusive Movie Event Los Angeles moviegoers will have an exclusive opportunity to see Side Effects, the timely, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the pharmaceutical industry starring Grey's Anatomy's sexy intern Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl).Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2006 -- Prior to its national DVD release, Los Angeles moviegoers will have an exclusive opportunity to see Side Effects, the timely, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the pharmaceutical industry starring Grey's Anatomy's sexy intern Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl). The film will run on the big screen for a last-chance showing from May 12 to 18 at Laemmle's SUNSET 5 located at 8000 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, 90046.
Based on writer/director Kathleen Slattery-Moschkau's decade of experience working as a drug sales rep., Side Effects is a satirical, insider's look at the pill-pushing tactics of the pharmaceutical industry's leading companies. The film has been heralded across the country as a light and entertaining approach to a heavy issue.
With Michael Moore's film Sicko due out in fall of 2006, the pharmaceutical industry will have its hands full this year. For me, this is not a witch hunt, says Slattery-Moschkau. It's about accountability, raising awareness, and leveling the playing fieldthe beauty of a free market system.
Side Effects reveals the fascinating, and sometimes laughable journey of Karly Hert (Katherine Heigl), a young woman struggling with love, ethics and a discontented career in the pharmaceutical industry. Karly, seduced by the perks and benefits of corporate America, is oblivious to her own value system until she meets Zach Danner (Lucian McAfee), a down-to-earth guy who encourages Karly to walk her talk and leave her empty job. Karly finds out that leaving is never as easy as it seems.
Tickets for Side Effects will be available in advance from the Laemmle's SUNSET 5 Website at
www.laemmle.com.
