:fight I was just kinda curious if anyone else has any plans to watch Eliza Dushku's (Faith) new series. It's supposed to air next fall on Fox. Date and time are unknown. The plot as I understood it is that she has this power to to go back in time and re-do the previous day all over agin. Meaning she can save people, help her friends and stop crimes before they happen. I read the pilot script and it actually sounded pretty cool. At first I was like "No Faith, No way" , but after reading the pilot I'll definitly be checking it out. I'm still not certain why she went for this project over a Faith spin-off, so hopefully the girl knows what she's doing.:silly

I hadn't heard that Eliza had actually taken another show. Good for her. I'm glad she's doing something. Although a Faith spin-off would of been nice, I'm sure she just wants to move on from it. As does SMG. But I adore Eliza, so I'm sure I will make it a point to check it out this fall!

:fight I understand moving on, but It just seems like the girl would have kept her options open before jumping on with Fox. Maybe consider Faith and read a potential pilot script for each show before signing on any dotted lines. I'm kinda expecting True Calling to be a success. I think Fox is going to make this great show about a female hero that has the power to change people's destinies by altering their chosen paths. Eliza's character is actually named Tru... so it should be some great fun come fall. Plus maybe she'll be the hero to slowly but steady fill the void left by Buffy.:silly

:fight Definitely a deserving girl. I'm hoping her character can fight, maybe I'm still too stuck on Faith, but it sounds like she's gonna come up against some pretty bad people. So knowing a few moves definitely wouldn't hurt in the long run.I'm probably gonna be a lot more worried about Tru when she's in tight situations than I ever worried about Faith, because Faith had the strength and skill and she could take care of herself. Tru is a completely different woman. All I'm saying is if she can kick ass it'll get a thumbs up from me.:bat

:fight She's in a new movie too. It's called "Wrong Turn." It's about two or three girls on a road trip back home from college and take a wrong turn (surprise surprise) and end up coming into contact with a group of mutated, canabalistic moutain men that appearently don't want to give them directions and send them on their merry way. It's supposed to be out sometimes this month. I'll probably end up seeing it. Sounds like my kinda flick.:bat

:fight The synopsis is up at thefutoncritic.com and this is what Fox has to say about the show:

TRU CALLING: What would you do if you could relive a day? If you're TRU DAVIES (ELIZA DUSHKU, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), you'd save lives. Tru is a smart, sexy recent college graduate who – when her high-powered medical internship falls through – finds herself working the midnight shift at the New York City morgue. One night, Tru questions reality when she thinks she hears a beautiful murder victim asking for her help. But the next morning, our heroine wakes up to find that she is back at the beginning of that very same day – twelve hours before a murder that only she knows about is set to take place. With the clock ticking, Tru is compelled to traverse the city of New York over those next twelve hours to prevent this wrongful death, while at the same time rescuing members of her own family from their dangerous and self-destructive lives. Directed by renowned filmmaker PHILLIP NOYCE ("The Quiet American"), TRU CALLING combines the sexiness and speed of "Alias" with the procedural crime format of "CSI." TRU CALLING is from 20th Century Fox Television and Original Television and comes from executive producer/writer JON FELDMAN ("American Dreams," "Roswell," "Dawson's Creek").

It's set to air on thursdays at 8:00 pm on FOX. :bat

I can't wait till this show airs. Eliza is a kick-ass actress and I sure hope the writers don't make her into another "Joey Potter". If you watch Dawson's, you know what i mean. And please, NO TRIANGLES OR LOVE INTERESTS! I am sick of leading women being reduced to "the girl every guy wants to date" rather than a "strong, independent, I don't need a man" woman.

Buffy is the only lead woman who didn't need a man and wasn't even with a man throughout the last season of Buffy.

Not that i don't want Tru to have a boyfriend or anything, I just don't want Tru to "pull a Joey Potter" and care more about boys rather than herself.

:lol You are so right about Joey, Tracey.

Something tells me though, that we don't have to worry about that happening with Tru. This show seems like it's going to put it's focus more on the supernatural end of things.

Although I do/did like Joey, I do have to agree with you Tracey. But I don't think they'll make Tru all "dependent" on some guy or put her in a love triangle. Been there, done that. So, here's to hoping! :drink3

:fight I thinks she's probably going to have a few relationships, but nothing that'll bog down the show much. Also it's good to point out that Jennifer Garner's character on Alias had had all of the above stated love entanglements happen to her and she still kicks a whole lotta ass. Hopefully the same can be said for Eliza's character, Tru when the show debuts in October.:bat

You've got a good point there, Mr. J, about Sydney. She started out with a fiancee! Hopefully, Tru can handle her personal relationships as well as Sydney does. I think that's what has helped make Alias such a hit and if Tru can do that, I'm sure it will go far!

:fight I saw a preview for Tru tonight and DAMN it looks good.I can't wait! I think Tru may not be as capable as Ms. Bristow. I think she may keep some of her relationships at arms length becuase she has the power that she really can't share with anyone and that sets her apart from other people. I could be wrong but I think having this "gift" may force her to cut loose any distractions. I mean any boyfriend she had wouldn't undertsnad why she's always running off in some big hurry or why she knows what will happen before the actual event occurs. Sydney can have relationships because all of those men either knew about her work or actually worked beside her, which meant she didn't have to make up excuses or live a lie. Tru doesn't have that luxary; she's alone in this fight. Nobody can help her because it's her gift, her responsibility, her calling...sorry that was a little cheezy, but it just called out to me. You get the idea though. I could be wrong though. She could have a new guy every other episode and not give a damn.Of course it would be cool if she had a boyfriend that ended up being one of her victims to save. That would warrant some definite explaing for sure.:bat

:fight I saw 3 so far all during Paradise hotel. The coolest one was like a minute long and had her rushing around to "All you wanted" by Michelle Branch. The cooler part of it showed her trying to save CALLISTO:loveu from Xena. She's apparently the first woman Tru tries to save. Also it showed her kicking a gun out of a guy's hand, so I think it's safe to say Tru's a butt kicker. THANK GOD!Oh I also saw one during the OC. Do you guys watch Fox at all? You can't see a preview unless you're watching the channel you know? :bat
