blondee~ Have you seen the Pilot yet? I have a feeling this might explain a lot of this. Also I thought you asked somewhere else about the scene with Clark on the stake and that was in the Pilot also.  But yeah, I really like that scene with L&M.

Okay, only read the first page so far.. and I've got questions.  First, I guess it's not going to show how Clark got Lana from the tornado, huh? It's just going to flash with him entering the hospital. So we don't know if he *flew* or not, but he sort of *had* too, didn't he? Second, What would his father not do? I didn't get that whole section with Clark & Martha, I must be missing the underlying text here... Continuing on... Why doesn't Martha want to step on Nells toes? What happened between them? Love Clarks line, "Who hooked you up with this?"

Nell's back story is something I'm eager to find out. Along with the parallel and possibly connected story of how Jonathan and Lionel knew each other.

Wow. It seems like they took or reworded alot of the lines, looking back over it. Of course I was so entranced it was hard to hear much. Did they take that whole part out with Lana & Lex about Clark saving her?

I didn't see a Lana-Lex conversation, not about her being saved or anything else. I'd have liked to see that.
It looks as if they cut a lot. I wonder why? They surely had time for the cut scenes - there was still 6 minutes to go before the hour when the episode ended. It was short.
Oh for the DVD version... Or that they would do Euroversion copies like they did for Highlander.

I knew I hadn't missed anything. They did cut that scene. Too bad. But I did like how they didn't just start the show with Clark taking Lana to the hospital. I really liked how they showed the tornado part. Leaves us wondering if Lana will investigate Clark some too now.
And fd, I would also really like to see what happened between Lionel & Jonathon in the past. As well as Martha & Nell (although I believe they cut that part too, so that may never be addressed).

Nell's backstory!
I noticed that you guys don't really know it and the main reason was because it was supposed to be in the original pilot with the other Martha and didn't make it back into the aired pilot.
Nell and Johnathon used to date, like exclusively. Then he ended up dumping her for Martha. There's some tension between them now.

So what happened? How do you know? Was that before Jonathan went to Metropolis? Where does Lionel fit into the picture?

I heard this stuff over at Kryptonsite's spoiler page and also it was briefly mentioned in the episode "Shimmer" during Lana and Clark's porch scene. He didn't dump Nell till after he went to Metropolis because he did dump Nell for Martha. I'm not sure where Lionel fits in the actual story, but I think that Nell and Lionel were/are an item. I mean, how does she know him well enough for him to invite her and Lana to stay over at his place in Metropolis for a riding competion? I doubt it was from just selling some of the Lang's land to him. But none of the Lionel stuff is confirmed or anything, just my ideas.

I agree with you anout Nell and Lionel, though I've had some fun thinking up alternate and corollary explanations for the 'friendship'. I'm curious about the acquaintanceship of Jonathan and Lionel and wonder if they will ever explain (or hint) more on the show. Apparently Martha will be working with Lionel, so maybe some information will emerge there?

Wow. Thanks Kristal!  I've never heard about that before with Jonathon dating Nell years ago. Interesting. And fd, how is Martha going to be working for Lionel? Never would of guessed that one!
