Quote: Quote: but all I do know from Season 2 is that a certain couple breaks up.
It's not Martha and Jonathan, is it? Just kidding . And since we can spoil and speculate on this thread, I'll go out on a limb here and guess it might... just... possibly be...Lana and Whitney? See, that's perfectly safe, because no one except me thinks that they actually belong together . But I don't stay sad for long, so I'll join the Happy Dance, just 'cause bunniefuu's happy! Oh, is this a good time to remind people that in some versions of Superman, Lana and Pete end up married? Maybe we'll see the beginnings of a romance between them now... (Ouch! I think people just stuck pins in little klulu dolls over that one! )

Um... are we just going to leave it at guessing or did we want this thread to be confirmed? Not from my knowledge do Jonathon & Martha seperate, although I do recall reading someone's theory that he might die in the finale. (Of course we know that is not going to happen.) See and the funny thing here is, I thought I was the only one who wanted Clark & Lana together. All I hear from anyone is, well you know he is going to end up with Louis in the end. Sooo!

Wow. I think I need to go re-rent the movies. I thought Lana and Pete were fictional characters the show made up. All I can remember is Clark, Louis and Lex from the series. My bad. Now I'm intrigued as to what exactly you are referring to and did the characters look the same? Age? Relationships to Clark? Oh and sorry about the double posts.. I have to keep them short or I get to when the phone rings and knocks me off at night time. Well that and I'm working on getting to 2000.

Lana was a red head (played by Annette O' Toole, the current Mrs. Kent in the 3rd movie. I don't think Pete was in the movies but in the comics he is white and blonde. He was Clark's best friend and found out about Clark's powers on a camping trip. Clark didn't know this though and Pete secretly helped him cover his tracks so no one else would find out. In some versions of the Superman story, Lana and Clark were high school sweethearts, but in others they just had a very close friendship. Hope that helps

Boy am I ever lost now... Just how many versions are there? I thought there was only the one movie with sequels. And thank you for the insight.. I'm so sorry I haven't been in here for awhile, I'm just really busy trying to get the music forum up and running ASAP.

Well, comics-wise, there's Golden Age, SIlver Age, Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis, Byrne revamp, etc...
TV-wise, Lana's been played by KK, and appeared in oen ep of "Lois & Clark" and was played by the chick who plays Ainsley Hayes on West Wing.
In the movies, Annette O'Toole played Lana in Superman III when Margot Kidder declined to sign up to play Lois in the movie.

Quote: Quote: Just how many versions are there? well, the movies are one version and the comics are a few versions and the cartoons and previous shows could be considered versions too. Now the comics being many versions may sound weird but its true. Yeoman Prince mentioned them but I had only heard of 2 before, there was Pre-Crisis and that was when Lana and Clark dated, but then there is Post-Crisis where they were just friends. The Crisis (which spilts the two apart) was when DC Comics totally redid the Superman story by having some kind of catastrophe occur, I'm not exactly sure what it was because I have never even read a comic, this is all coming from the www.supermanhomepage.com and some very knowledgeable people on comic forums.

spoilers from Kryptonsite's Spoiler page: Quote: Quote: * Martha's father, William Clark, comes to town after many years of being estranged due to conflicts with Jonathan. Clark wants to get to know his grandfather more but will the family rifts keep them all apart? * Clark does a super-feat underwater! Did we mention that Clark will be wearing red speedos in this one? In a Superman first, it won't be on top of a costume, either! * Somehow the "freak of the week" can make people age at a very rapid pace, possibly so he/she can stay young. One Smallville High student is a high schooler one minute, shriveled and dead the next. * Smallville High has a new principal, Principal Reynolds, who challenges Clark to find his journalistic side. Could our predictions of a demise for Principal Kwan be true, or could he have just transferred? We're assuming this will be answered by the end of the first season. * The new principal apparently used to be a professor at Exeter Prep when Lex attended the school there. For some reason Chloe thinks the new principal is shady. * This doesn't really sound like a season premiere, as none of the "cliffhanger" moments from "Tempest" are even addressed.
edited to add: The title for this episode is "Redux" and will air sometime during the 2nd season.

bun--I asked "Clark Kent" at the Torch forums why he doesn't credit you, and he swears up one side and down the other that he's getting the script pages from another source--but it is awfully dodgy that the scenes he's posting there just happen to be the *exact* same ones you've gotten from Mr. A. Is it possible that Mr. A is ALSO sending them to him? Can you ask Mr. A?

Loony Archivist - I can answer that one. I know for a fact that Mr. A does not give spoilers out to him or anyone else except Jen and I.

. I know for a fact that Mr. A feels the same exact way I do and always sends them right out to me and doesn't ask for any thanks in return. I used to post them without anyone even acknowledging them. We have nothing against sharing whatsoever.

a main character may be leaving this season, according to spoilers it'll be Whitney, Lionel, Lex, or Chloe. But we know it isn't Chloe because she is in spoilers for next season and so is Lex so that only leaves Whitney and Lionel (Lex's dad). Who do you hope/think will leave?

I don't want anyone to leave, but I'm prepared for the inevitable. Of course, it can't be Lex. If Lex left Smallville, I doubt that the show would survive. The Clark&Lex friendship is the whole point of the show - the thing that sets it apart. Lionel's my favorite character, but he's not technically a regular, so I'm thinking that when they say a "main character," they're more likely referring to Whitney. Not that I want to see him leave, either. Without Whitney, there's only the Clark/Lana/Chloe triangle, and that kind of thing gets played out all the time on other shows. So I'd really rather have Whitney stick around. 'Sides, EJ is both gorgeous and talented, and the show ought to make better use of him. On the other hand, I love Lionel to pieces, and I think he's much too important to Lex's storyline and his descent into evil. And the family relationships are what I watch the show for. So I'd be seriously disappointed if the writers got rid of him too soon. So I'm just hoping the spoilers are wrong, and that no one's leaving. (I know, I know, I live in the clouds .) But given the wholesale slaughter of my favorite characters on other shows lately, I've grown resigned to this kind of thing. Edited to add:BTW - In Al Gough's interview, he does say that after the season finale, Lex and his father will be "more diametrically opposed" than before - so I'm really hoping that means Lionel will still be around. I don't like to be sad for long .
