I like Chloe...Lex has his moments because he's trying to be a good guy, but a lot of other stuff (like who he thinks he needs to be) is stumping up his good side.

what do you will turn Lex bad? He seems so nice now. Will it just be when he knows Clark has super powers? Which sounds pretty shallow to me... Maybe if Lex finds out about Clark and then starts getting greedy and wants Clark to team up with him?

If Lex's turn towards evil has anything to do with Clark's superpowers, I think it might actually be because he's trying to protect Clark's secret, because right now he cares so much about Clark. And Lex admits that he'll do anything to protect his friends. But I think there's also a chance that Lex will turn evil slowly, doing things that outwardly are being seen as good and being recognized for that. (I'm not sure if I explained that well.) Lex has said that he wants to be "great" - he wants to be seen as a great person. He even has his own guy at the newspaper write glowing reports about him sometimes. But so far, most of the good things that he's done (like rescuing the kids in Jitters) don't seem to gain him any recognition. So I think there's a chance that if he pulls some shady deals that actually benefit people in Smallville, people might credit him with helping them, and he might begin to turn evil by deciding that the end justifies the means, and then slowly extending that to feeling that he's above the law, or other people's morality/ethics. Did you see Reaper? I think the most interesting thing in that episode is that Lex is *twice* complimented for what he does - once by his father, for doing something rather questionable (dealing with Dominic), and then afterwards by Jonathan for doing something nice (that whole Whitney-football thing). Approval from the two men he seems to need it from most - his own father and Clark's - for opposite types of behavior. That sort of thing could begin pulling him into two directions if it keeps happening. Quote: Quote: klulu~ you like Lex's father? Care to explain?
I adore him . I know he's not exactly the best dad in the world - so okay, a picture of him with Lex could probably go into the dictionary next to the word 'dysfunctional' - but I think he's fascinating. And sexy, even if he is older than my dad. He's got that whole "Lion King" thing going, too - the confidence, the lion's mane, even the way he walks. Besides, I think he does love Lex, even though he's completely off-kilter in how to raise a kid rather than an heir apparent.

Boy a lot of Lex er's Like the bad boys much? Klulu~ I did see that ep. and I loved the last line when Clark said to his father- "I know how we can catch more fish this time" and then he said "X-ray vision" LMAO! I too would like to see some more interaction between Lex and Lionel. I figured you liked him best because he is the one we know least about at this point. Mysterious man?

It's a tie betwen Chloe and Lex, for me.
As for Lex's eventual fall, I think his fatehr will have a lot to do with it. Right now, Lex desperatly wants NOT to turn into Lionel--but he still falls back on that mode of behaviour when he's cornerd. He has trust issues. he lies. He tries to buy people off. At the same time, he takes responsibility for his AND his father's actions. He puts himself on the line. He supports people like Clark and Lana, with no personal agenda. He desperately craves his father's love and approval, and that actually comes out most clearly in his scenes with Clark's father, Jonathan. That fascinates me.
As long as Lionel is alive, Lex will continue to resist his dark side. As long as Lionel is alive, the possibility still exists that Lex will be able to win his father's love. The second Lionel dies, that hope will be gone. And Lex may forget WHY he's fighting, and what he is fighting for. Without hope, all he will be left with is bitterness re: hsi relationship with hsi father. I really do think that will be a key part of his fall.
As for Chloe, I lveo her because Allison brings so much personality tot he role, and does so much with it. I lvoe the complexities of teh character, as well as her strengths. And I like that she is flawed--part of the problemw ith the way they write Lana is that she's a paragon--she's an ideal. She's not real. Clark put her up on a pedestal so high alls he can do from there is *fall*. She's not a well drawn character so much as a 2-d charicature at times, and KK can't really rise above the material, so Lana isn't nearly as interesting a character to me as Chloe. She's smart, funny, has ambition but also compassion. And I really like how they've handled the Clark/Chloe/Lana triangle. Clark may be in love with the *idea* of Lana--but Chloe is in love with the real Clark--warts and all. That makes it a completely different dynamic, and Allison just nails it.

I think this is an awesome theory. I would like to believe that this really happens. I too think that he does not want to intentionally hurt Clark. I think Lex's past is what may tear them apart unwillingly. I think you hit the nail on the head.

Re-reading this and I *think* this is an excellent storyline. I would love to see that happen. Good vs. Evil, except that the evil only stems from the good. Now I'm sure that didn't make a hairball's of sense I guess I would just like to see the interation between Clark and Lex more. Then again wouldn't it be interesting if Clark wasn't always the good. Meaning the good helping the bad. Now that would be cool to see too! Of course un-intentionally that is.

Favourite character: Lex.
Second favourite: Clark.
Third favourite: Chloe.
It's a show full of great characters. I also like Jonathan very much, and Lionel, and Toby, and Dominic, and Pamela, and Bugboy, and Martha.
Don't like Lana much but I can live with her.

Well - I have to agree. Lionel is magnificent and then some. Love the way he storms through doorways. You just can't ignore him.

I finally took up Bunnys advice and had a look at smallville. It was not bad. I guess my fav character would have to be clark. Of course. Though other than that I'd have to say chloe. I don't know why but I really like her.
