We've yet to see how the season will be but I like the sound of it. I like the way the characters have developed, especially Clark; watching the reruns made me recognize how he has matured over the season.

I hope not to see Lois Lane, because I always disliked her role in the comic. Maybe we'll see her and maybe she'll be all right. But what do we need Lois for, when we have Chloe? I hope they keep Lois as a sort of in-joke, the cousin in Metropolois we never get to see.

I really hope we see Bruce Wayne.

What would spicing up do for Lois Lane that we don't already have (and better) with Chloe Sullivan?

Far as I can see, Chloe's only failing is that she doesn't have the initials L.L. But she does have two l's in her name.

... And just as rich, and more dangerous in many ways.

Lois Lane is Chloe's cousin. The producers plan on introducing her and Perry White sometime in the near future.

I *sincerely* hope that they don't drag characters from Superman's adult life into the Smallville universe. There are more than enough interesting people and possible plot twists to keep things moving along nicely for years thank you, without bogging down the works with future relationships of Supe's.

There is no "Superman" in Smallville, there is only Clark. And that's the way I like it.

Well, I have to disagree. I just don't like Chloe much. I definitely do not like Chloe pairing up to be friends with Lana; especially when she never cared much for her before. AND this seasons Chloes is making me cringe even more. She just reminds me of a whiny little minion.

Now Lana to me did throw me the first season. You have to remember alot of us viewers never read the comics and all that. We only pretty much witnessed the movies like myself. So Lana *did* does seem to resemble Louis more so than Chloe. The only big similarity I can see between Louis and Chloe is the whole Newspaper Daily Planet thingy. Then again, the only thing I can see between Lana and Louis is one the name.. Louis Lane and Lana Lane a little to *similar* and they both have the "dark" hair pretty look like you mentioned. Of course the whole romance side can be debated between them depending on who ships who so I won't bother with that.

Also, I can completely understand where you are going with the dead parents thing Mab and I do agree to a *certain* extent except I really have liked her alot this season and did last year as well. And I do agree that she never cared about Clark or anything else for that matter last year but this year she does seem much more involved in others lives and not so much "just about her". It almost seems that Chloe has resulted in taking her place here as she seems "just about her" this season. If you ask me that is.

Who says they don't? They didn't in the comic, or in any of the movie versions so far, but this is a whole new series with continuity and canon of its own. This is not the Clark of any previous version. So he might well end up with Lana Lang - who is not a Lana we have ever seen before - or not. The writers are free, as far as I can see, to do what they choose.

Of course, I don't want him to end up with Lana, but that's beside the point.

I think I like her better without Whitney, but I still think she has a lot of growing up to do.
