im trying very hard not to laugh...

ive been doing laundry since i was 10 and cooking since I was about 12. I was raised by a single working mom so me and my sister had to learn to cook and do laundry or we'd go hungry and be smelly lol

Well, thanks...

I always had someone to do it for me... I don't even think my mother has a clue where the kitchen is. I don't even remember seeing her in one. It's very sad.

I shouldn't laugh. My grandmother couldn't cook until she got married. Now that she and my grandfather have retired she doesn't cook anymore. My grandfather hired someone to come in to a cook thier lunches and dinners so now all gran does it pour cereal, peel fruit and use the microwave

We had a cook, housekeeper, gardner, driver etc when I was growing up, so I never had to do anything for myself. My parents still have them. But I at least have learned how to do things on my own. I may suck at it, but I still learned them. I don't my mom ever did.

im not that great at most forms of housework. I can cook fairly well when properly motivated and I can get stains out of clothing i like. everything else, i don't really care about

I can't remove stains at all, but I sure can make them worse. I ruined a Nicole Miller dress that my ex bought me; I ended up making the stain even bigger and permenate. LOL

you just have to know what yoe dealing with and practice. I was faced with a few choices,

a) spend all my my limited amounts of money buying new clothes because I am forver dropping pens, and food on my pants, or fall in the mud
b)look like a slob by wearing stained clothing
c) stop being a klutz
d) learn how to get the stains out.

none of the first 3 options seem appealing so i leanred how to get stains out. its amazing what one will do when properly motivated

I'd have gone with number one. Actually I have. I wasted my entire paycheck on a Nicole Miller shopping spree and I had to go to my parents and ask them to pay my rent and other bills. My rent is 2800, so with my other bills, they probably wasted about 5 grand.

And, all I could say was... "Well, at least I looked good!" LOL

My parents were pretty pissed too. I have a really good job and the pay is damn good, so the fact that I couldn't pay anything bothered them and I had to pay them back.

But hey... at least I looked good.

Do you have a job now? If so, what?

Oh, fun! You should do something like become a secret shopper or something. You get paid to review resturants and shops. I'm sure they'd have something like that in Canada. One of my friends did that while she was going through school.

I hope you find something; it'd probably easy to get something in retail. I know you don't like that prospect, but I would guess there would be a lot available.

When is your break?
