"Grey's Anatomy" - Katherine Heigl
LOS ANGELES
Izzy's going to have her hands full when "Grey's Anatomy" returns from its holiday break. Katherine Heigl says her character will be involved in a love triangle. She wouldn't dish any more than that. Heigl does say there will be "some kind of prom" episode, though she doesn't know how that will work. Heigl also says "someone leaves the program." As for Meredith and Dr. McDreamy, Heigl says no one's being told what will happen with them. Grey's Anatomy returns January eighth

:lol That's a fact. That was a big eppy for Alias fans. Grey's needs something big like that for after the Super Bowl otherwise, what's the point?

Although, Grey's has a much higher rating, so it's not like it can really grow that much.

I still can't understand bringing in Ricci. That is something that needs much more explaination and justification. LOL I mean she was in the Addams family movies. Ew.

You'd think that as successful as this show is, "bigger" people would like to be on it!

Exactly. A real star. Not a C-lister!

New spoilers. Kind of.

Episode Detail: Grey's Anatomy Begin the Begin
The docs toast the New Year with a mandatory work limit, which Cristina finds constricting, and she complains about it to Bailey as they fly to harvest a heart for a patient with a crush on Izzie. Other patients include a frustrated novelist who has eaten his novel and a 14-year-old girl who hasn't reached puberty and yearns to be “normal.” Elsewhere, Addison detests Derek's trailer; Burke asks Cristina to move in with him; and Derek visits Ellis Grey (Kate Burton) without Meredith's knowledge.

Episode Detail: Grey's Anatomy Tell Me Sweet Little Lies
Cristina is hesitant to “officially” move in with Burke, and George threatens to move out of Meredith's house unless she gets rid of Doc. Meanwhile, Alex gets his board-exam results; Meredith takes a blood test for Alzheimer's; and Bailey begins to have contractions. Patients include a competitive eater with hiccups; a rock guitarist who lost three fingers in an accident; a woman who's unnervingly cheerful; and an elderly woman who won't leave the hospital after being discharged.

From Watch with Kristin:

From kiwiseed: Grey's rocked last night! Any chance that they'll bring Christina Ricci back as a love interest for George? They were so sweet together. (TV crush: Josh Holloway, hands down!)
Did you see the T.R. Knight video clip from last week? He turned 18 shades of red when I suggested she come back as a love interest--apparently, he has a real crush on her! Too cute. But so far, there are no plans for her to return. By the way, I'm going to a Grey's Anatomy party tonight to celebrate the DVD launch, which happens Valentine's Day! So, email me any questions you have. And check out E! News tomorrow night for the interviews.

From angelgirlla: I screamed, cried, laughed, etc., last night at GA. Is there anything you can share, little tidbits that won't spoil too much?
It was amazing was it not? The second half was better than the first, and I honestly cannot believe how utterly fantastic it was. That show is just pure genius. I thought I was having a panic attack halfway through the ep! And the final shots of the shower and McDreamy and Mer...damn. That show is just unbelievable. Now, as for your question, forgive me, but I don't believe you've revealed your TV crush. Spill it, and I'll spill, too!

From igetemailed: Dr. George "don't look at my va-jay-jay" O'Malley...awesome show last night! I so loved not knowing too much! Any news on what might be coming up on Grey's?
Laugh-out-loud funny. And it was in a moment where I was crying. No easy feat! Next week will mark the arrival of several new, important characters. We knew about Derek's ex-best friend Dr. Mark coming to Seattle Grace (he's played by Eric Dane, who also starred as Jason Dane on Charmed), but I hear we also will meet another sexy new doc (meow!) and Meredith's dad.

From brenda: T.R. Knight! Now how about some Grey's couples news. Any hope for Alex and Izzie?
Alex's feelings for Izzie will grow now that they've finally christened that hospital closet. Actually, we're gonna see a vulnerable side of him soon, when he starts to get jealous--thanks to the heart-transplant patient (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) who, as I told you about a month ago, will be back and will make things interesting for Izzie.

Okay, according to EP(Meredith) in the new TV Guide, one of the interns is leaving. WHO? My fear is Alex; I love Alex. I can do without everyone else though.

(Meredith is not leaving and odds are neither is Cristina or Izzy. So please... GEORGE! GO! NOW!)

From: Watch with Kristin:

From Sharon: Is it true that Natalie Cole is guest starring on Grey's Anatomy? Can you tell us without ABC siccing the dogs on you?
I have my bodyguards standing by. And, yes! Natalie showed up at the L.A. Confidential party with her arm in a sling and told us, "I was on the set of Grey's Anatomy a couple of weeks ago, filming an episode, and I slipped and fell. But I'm fine. It's no big deal." Here's how the rest of the convo went:
K.V.: Were you doing something physical?
N.C.: [Laughs] I was just walking.
K.V.: And tell me, do you play someone's love interest?
N.C.: I am a patient in this particular episode, and I come in looking very strange, because there's something that happened to me, between me and my husband, and then it gets a little more serious as the story develops. It's good.
K.V.: So, which cute doctor is your doctor?
N.C.: You know, all of them are so cute. I mean, of course, meeting Patrick Dempsey was terrific, but my particular favorite is Isaiah. Isaiah is a honey. He's just a honey.
K.V.: It's such a great show.
N.C.: It really is. It's lots of fun. The cast is absolutely terrific. They were so nice, so kind to me. The executive producer, Peter Horton, is just terrific. The writer, Shonda, is amazing. She has done an amazing thing, and it's taken them about 10 years to get this show on the air, so I'm really, really happy for her.

From aliciajo: Grey's Anatomy? I know why some people do not like Meredith. The writers didn't let us get to know her well enough before giving her so many issues. She's so messed up, and we're suppose to care?
I hear ya, babe. And I will give you the cast's thoughts on that very storyline in this week's column. Patrick Dempsey, also, was not pleased. Quick, somebody, give that man a hug!

Heigl talks underwear security and cute boys

I think Katherine Heigl has a crush on me.

I mean, seriously, how else would you explain her exuberant proclamation of love in this video clip?

Okay, so, she was just being sweet and playful as she hugged me goodbye. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't spread the rumor that we're in a blossoming romance and are planning to run away together, should it? Should it? (Ahem. Clearly I am the one with the crush. But what can I say, that girl is my favoritest girl in Hollywood, especially since she admitted she's a die-hard Everwood fan. But I digress...)

Such over-the-moon, delirium-inducing moments only happen at what has become my favorite event of the year, for it kicks such gluteus maximus: The Museum of Television and Radio's Paley Festival. It's that the two-week-long tube-a-palooza that puts fans in touch with the casts of some of the season's best shows.

I so wish you all could take part, but since I know many of you missed it, I bring you goodies from the first few nights--Grey's Anatomy, Entourage and Supernatural (with more coming next week). Enjoy!

Grey's Poop! First things first: For those of you wondering about rumors that a castmember is "leaving," supervising producer Krista Vernoff set me straight (sorta) during the Grey's Anatomy night at Paley: "It's not that an intern was leaving the show. The quote was that an intern was leaving the program, and honestly, we haven't actually decided yet. We haven't broken story yet for the finale. I'm assuming that it will happen at some point, because we set that up in the pilot, but I can't even say whether or not it'll happen before the end of the season, because we actually don't know yet."

I also asked Sandra Oh, but she just had a good laugh, saying, "You know, I heard that. I don't know. Maybe I won't have a job. I don't know! I love how you tell me what's going on with my show. That's terrible!" (You can see for yourself in the clip at left.)

Regardless, an even bigger topic that night was the now infamous George-Meredith hookup, which, as you know, left more than a few fans miffed. Some fans said they felt it came as a huge surprise, but Shonda Rhimes had this take: "I don't feel like it came out of nowhere. I feel like we've been leading up to that since the very first episode, when George introduced himself to Meredith and was very clearly interested in her. So, to me, it was a natural progression. I feel like a lot of shows would wait until season five to do that, and I was like, Let's just throw it all in there now and figure out what to do in season five in season five."

George himself, T.R. Knight, (who, by the way, has been hiding what looks like a new haircut now for a month--not sure why!) had this to say on the subject: "What I liked about it was...the touching. [Laughs] No, I just liked that George acted on something primal, but also, it wasn't just a 'poor George' moment. It's like George, yes, has loved her since the start, but he also hasn't been listening to her since the start, or he would have known she didn't love him. So, it's not that Meredith's bad. It's, like, he had a responsibility, too, and he didn't do it."

For the record, Patrick Dempsey was (get ready for the heart pangs) "hurt" by the Meredith-George hookup. (Now, get ready to drive over to his house and offer some sympathy...er, um, baked goods.) He says so in the clip at the right.

Other tidbits revealed to the Paley audience:

Sandra Oh originally auditioned for the part of the Nazi Miranda Bailey and mused, "Thank God I didn't get it. Can you imagine if we didn't have [Chandra Wilson]?" And how.
Ellen Pompeo was asked what she has in common with Meredith Grey, and she said, looking at Patrick Dempsey, "I really do have a crush on him!"

And Patrick told the story of his audition process and how Shonda Rhimes stared at him, expressionless. "I was completely terrified of her!" he said. "I left saying 'There's no way I can work with her.' " Shonda explained that she found him so dreamy she was brainstorming dialogue for him the whole time he was there.

Pshaw! As if people can't form sentences when they see Patrick...Mc...Demp...What was I saying?

Oh yeah, the thing I'm dying to tell you. I heard some scoop about an upcoming storyline that is so good I'm saving it for Monday's chat, so don't miss it!

From Watch With Kirstin

From brandella: Grey's Anatomy. Is Meredith hooking up with O'Dreamy?
Not at first. She is going to do something that is so inconceivable and nonhuman you might think she's a robot: She is going to reject Chris O'Donnell in the next new episode.

From nelline: Is Grey's new this week?
Yes. And the first five minutes are very sexy! (At least two couples are gonna be doing it, including the Shepherds.) We are also going to see that Alex is working with Addison now--and they just might drive each other crazy.

From jordynboo: Any hints as to what happens to Denny? I love him!
Denny survives at least until the season finale. I'm hearing that he does get the heart transplant! Although, I'm not sure if it's going to be successful or not. Either way, he's going to at least be around for these last four episodes. Also, I'm hearing George replaces Alex, helping Izzie with his case.

From gogobooter: Kristin, I'm concerned about George on Grey's. He seems to be getting pushed on the outskirts of the storyline, and now he has been kicked out of Cristina and Burke's apartment. Will he ever catch a break?
And how. He and Callie are going strong--much to the horror of Meredith and Izzie. I'm hearing George might be playing Jack to their Chrissy and Janet once more (read: moving back in), and Callie's un-ladylike bathroom habits have the girls in a serious tizzy. (A funny one at that, which by the way, I once experienced with Cameron Diaz...and when you see what she does, you're gonna laugh out loud at that.)

From moku613: How McCrappy was Derek last night?
McS--thead.

From smile3818: So, you witnessed ---- [the names have been deleted to protect the dirty] exit a bathroom sans hand wash? Ewww. How long will Callie be around on Grey's?
Yes, I did! It was at a gym, no less. I've never looked at the dumbbells the same. As for Callie--she is going to be back next season.

From nelson: On Grey's, Meredith and Izzie were so bitchy to Callie last night! Was it just me, or did you sort of feel bad for her?
The good news is Sara Ramirez, who plays Callie, said that the ladies have all welcomed her with open arms in real life. "These are women who are respectful, who appreciate their craft, who appreciate their jobs, who really love the show they're working on, and they're very passionate about their own characters. They're powerful women, and we all kind of relish each other's strengths. They're all very smart and funny and fun and self-deprecating."

Sara also said that although she was somewhat intimidated on her first day, T.R. Knight was quick to make her feel comfortable: "Because we are working like scene partners in a way, we sort of needed to build a relationship right off the bat, and he was so open and took me around by the hand. Literally, the first day that I got there, he happened to have a short break, and he showed me all around the building and introduced me to everybody. So, when you have people like that, it makes the job really enjoyable and easier to walk into."

From ruth: I am so in love with Grey's and McVet.
McVeitch so wants to be a McVet it's not even funny. I can be your mother figure, put your handsome hand in mine

From wonderd: Grey's Anatomy: What's going on between Burke and Cristina in the season finale? Both the CTV and ABC previews show Cristina standing alone on the roof and Burke taking off in a helicopter. Is there some significance?
There is definitely something big for the world of Burstina in the next episode this Sunday. And I'm not just saying that based on the promos.

From reddoor: Are they still going to make a Grey's Anatomy character bisexual?
It's been pushed until next season, from what I hear. In a totally unrelated (or is it?) mention, this month's Out magazine has a great interview with Sandra Oh and part of it is up right now at Out.com. Kristen Bell is also in the issue, so I highly recommend picking it up!
