'Grey's Anatomy' Topping 'Housewives'

Step aside, "Desperate Housewives."

For the second week in a row, the over-the-top ladies of Wisteria Lane have been bested by the hot-sheets doctors of "Grey's Anatomy."

"Grey's Anatomy" drew 24.3 million viewers Sunday night — continuing a streak of big ratings that began with its post-Super Bowl broadcast earlier this month.

"Housewives" — once the gold standard of Sunday night popularity — pulled about 23.4 million viewers.

"Grey's" featured a couple of cliffhanger episodes — revolving around an unexploded bomb in the operating room — in recent weeks. That may have helped the show to a bigger tune-in last week.

But that's over now — which means millions of viewers got hooked on the show in just the past two weeks.

Through the end of January, "Grey's" was averaging about 17.9 million viewers per week — which means the show's audience jumped more than 35 percent due solely to the Super Bowl exposure.

I'd rather they stay on Sundays and take DH's spot and have DH move to Mondays.

I'd rather have that as well; Grey's would have a better chance at growth with a move to 9pm on Sunday's. It'c quite evident that Grey's in coming out of the shadows and while DH remains a ratings hit, that show is declining while Grey's is soaring.

ABC would be stupid, but they're run by Chimps!

We'll have to think of something that works for the ABC brass... they're worse than Monkey's and Chimps.

Natalie Cole's "Anatomy" Lesson

There were plenty of doctors in the house, but unfortunately for a dinged-up Natalie Cole, they were all fake.

The 55-year-old "Unforgettable" Grammy winner slipped and broke her arm on the set of Grey's Anatomy last week, Cole told E! Thursday night at a Los Angeles party.

Cole had been filming a guest spot on the hit ABC drama at the time of the accident.

With her anatomy in disrepair, and nary a real medic to take care of her, the able-bodied faux staffers of Seattle Grace managed to call 911 and have an ambulance take Cole to a nearby hospital. She was patched up and pronounced well enough to return to the Los Angeles set, where she completed shooting on her scenes.

An ABC spokeswoman declined to comment on the nature of Cole's role, but did say the singer-actress would appear in one of the final episodes of the season.

Cole is the latest guest star to check in to Grey's Anatomy, which has become one of the top shows on television both critically and ratings-wise during its season and a half. The series was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Drama Series in January, with costar Sandra Oh claiming the prize for Best Supporting Actress. Grey's Anatomy is the fifth-most watched series this season, averaging about 20 million viewers per episode, per Nielsen Media Research.

Having her arm in a sling hasn't kept Cole from hitting the party circuit. Aside from showing up at a pre-Oscar party Thursday in L.A. sponsored by Los Angeles Confidential magazine, she appeared in Beverly Hills last week for Star Jones Reynolds' new book, Shine, according to the The Insider.
In addition to her Grey's Anatomy foray, Cole is coming off a lifetime achievement award at last year's 36th Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans. She has also been working on a follow-up to her most recent album, 2002's Ask a Woman Who Knows.
