Pompeo 'the star' of Grey's AnatomyTV beauty Ellen Pompeo baffled the media at the Monte Carlo TV Festival last week when she was interviewed separately from her Grey's Anatomy castmates. Pompeo's spokeswoman Jennifer Allen insists the actress, who plays Meredith Grey in the medical drama, didn't insist on the separate interview, but the show's producers Touchstone Television did. Allen tells gossip site PageSix.com, "It was at the request of broadcasters that she interview alone because she is the star of the show." Despite Pompeo being declared 'the star' of the show - her castmate Sandra Oh has won a series of accolades for her performance as Dr Christina Yang, including a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and a Golden Globe. Katherine Heigl Talks Grey's Anatomy Source: Heather Newgen July 15, 2006 If you're a fan of Grey's Anatomy then you know what happened with Katherine Heigl's character Izzie Stevens last season. Some may find it sweet that the model turned surgeon went to such great lengths to be with her gorgeous patient Denny Duquette (Jeffery Dean Morgan), but Heigl is not one of those people. "I'm actually more angry than sympathetic. I can't believe she threw her career away. I just can't believe it," she told ComingSoon.net on the set of her new film Knocked Up. "It was a great sort of creative choice. As far as acting goes, it was great drama. But because I know the character so well and she's worked so unbelievably hard to be taken seriously as a doctor and all the years of schooling to get there, I was so devastated. Is like, 'Noooooo... She's worked too hard to throw it all away. She doesn't even know him!' But it was good drama." The success of "Grey's" has created a huge fan base for Heigl and the star admits it's getting hard just to even go to the store. "It's gotten weird," she admitted. "You're like picking out, 'Should I get Charmin or Scotts' and then somebody comes up to you. Everybody just wants to know what's happening next season and what's happening with the characters and I can't tell. I can't tell anybody anything. I don't even really know myself, because they change their minds all the time and they might throw an idea out there and go 'This is what we think is gonna happen,' but then you get the script and it's not even close. So not only can I not tell, but I don't know myself, so it's one of those conversations where you're just like, 'I don't know! I'd just keep watching. Keep watching! We've moved to Thursday nights, so keep watching!'" And if you're feeling sorry for the soon to be Mrs. Josh Kelley because she wasn't nominated for an Emmy, don't be. While she's disappointed, Heigl has the best attitude about it: "Screw them," she says about her cast mates who were nominated. "What happened to mine? That's what I want to know. What happened to my nomination?" she joked. The day the announcements were made she was up at 5:30 AM partially because she wanted to hear who was nominated, but mostly because she had a 6:00AM call time for the new Universal comedy she's working on that is currently being shot in Los Angles. "I have not gotten hold of Sandra [Oh] yet, but I think Sandra is probably up to her eyeballs in rehearsals and performances in New York for her play that she's doing, but again just another person who's really so talented and so deserving. But I wonder if this year she's like, 'Eh, this is old hat. I was nominated last year. Whatever.' I wonder if you ever get like that." Knocked Up won't be out until some time next year, but you can see Heigl again when the new season of Grey's Anatomy starts in the fall. From: Coming Soon.net

'Grey's Anatomy' Stars Steam Up Retailer's Ads Specialty retailer New York & Co. doesn't sell men's clothes, but it is featuring Patrick Dempsey along with Grey's Anatomy co-star Ellen Pompeo in fall ads. "I think it's adventurous of us to put him in there when we do not sell men's clothes," said Robert J. Luzzi, evp-creative director for the retailer. "But the ad is not about the clothes. It's about the brand, the fun." Luzzi also is capitalizing on the public's obsession with all things celebrity-related to drive attention to the brand. "There is for right now, and has been for the past two years, a big desire by the public to know about celebrities," Luzzi added. "While that's the trend, you go with the trend. It's like fashion. You go with the trend. Grey's Anatomy is the fashion trend of TV and you want to be on-trend." This is New York & Co.'s third campaign utilizing celebs. Previous efforts featured actress Eva Longoria and supermodel Iman. "New York & Co. is a sleeping giant," Luzzi said. "I'm trying to make it a household name." To that end, the company will open 50 stores this year, in malls and other locations. The fall campaign will launch in September issues of Cosmopolitan, Lucky, Glamour, Shop Etc., InStyle, O, Self, Redbook and People as singles, doubles and gatefold ads. In-house creative will also be used on the Internet and in-store. Budget was not revealed, but the effort is the largest the company has spent on a campaign, according to a rep. Spend for New York & Co. in 2005 was $10 million, per TNS. --Sandra O'Loughlin From: Brandweek

'Anatomy' Star T.R. Knight Says He's Gay
Thu Oct 19, 4:22 PM ET
"Grey's Anatomy" star T.R. Knight says he's gay, but hopes people don't consider that "the most interesting part of me." The 33-year-old actor addressed rumors of his sexuality in a statement to People magazine Thursday.
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight's statement read. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."
Knight plays Dr. George O'Malley on the popular ABC drama. A former stage actor, his television credits also include "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."
Knight's "Grey's Anatomy" character, a bumbling, puppy-eyed surgeon, has long been in love with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).

Er, that better not be the reason for the fight dammit. The fact that it comes out on the heels of it scares me.
But it bothers me so much that he actually has to issue a statement. WTF? It's no one's business if je's gay, straight or bi. It's a HIS freaking life; I hate how we constantly have people issuing statements on crap that is none of our business.
I like gossip as much as anyone, but man, when it starts getting into areas like this, it makes me feel guilty. LOL I think I've avoided gossip since I heard about it. Which is like 3 days and that's unheard for me!

Evidently, the fight started because of something Washington said to/about TR and Dempsey stepped in. "Evidently"
