I'm already making plans for my February birthday, as I have to (no joke) schedule the trip to Canada around zoo conferences and things like that, because two of my friends are keepers. :lol3 I was talking to them last Saturday, and they were saying they had conferences and stuff, so they weren't sure if they'd be able to make it, and I said that's why I'm asking now; so we can work around everything that's going on. And then there are the friends that are just plain busy, and you have to book these kinds of things ahead of time. :grin

Yeah, I got my pizza! :clap I'm such a pizza freak. Glad you made it back for my birthday, destinyrebel. Sort of like a birthday gift. :grin
Actually, compared to other years my birthday was pretty boring. Usually, I would go out with a bunch of friends or just my best friend to a mall nearby. This year though my best friend had furthered her studies to Russia *sniff* and I have gone to this mall so many times I could practically walk around it with my eyes closed.
You see, my town has only ONE (or shopping centre as we call it) which everyone goes. There is a bigger, better one which is far by my standards which I cannot drive to since my driving skills are severely lacking and so we're pretty much stuck with one mall.
Anyway, I didn't really feel like going out this year (must be the growing old thing). But I did get some birthday greetings from my friends so that was fun. I wish that I could spend it with you guys though. You guys are kinda whacked up in a good way that I'd probably have lots of fun. :grin

Sounds like it was a nice birthday. Sometimes you just need to do nothing. And you think we're whacked? :silly :grin

Hey, crazy can be fun! lol

My 21st birthday was a *total* bummer. To start with, I had to work that day. At the time, I was working as a veterinary technician, and this year my b'day fell on a Saturday, and Saturdays are *always* nuts, and this was no exception. I ended up putting in 3 hours of overtime. *groans* Then, on the way home, I call a friend who's supposed to be doing dinner with me, and she can't make it. But I still had one friend to go with, and dinner went fine, but when we got back to my place to watch the movie I'd rented, the VCR wasn't working, so we had to go to another friend's house. Now, I'd gotten some flan (a Mexican custard dessert) to go to enjoy later, and when we did cake and whatnot, the friend whose house we were at assume, without asking first, that she was welcome to some flan, and speared 1/4 of it. I let it go. That was so not how I planned to spend my birthday. But the last two years have made up for that. My 22nd was spent with lots of friends at the Olive Garden, and last year, I went to an Irish pub in Canada and got to listen to lots of really good music and a guy at the bar was scoping me out. *G* Must be the shirt I had on, because I always seem to have guys scoping me out when I wear it.

My 21st birthday was a mess. Two of my friends dragged me out to every bar (the town where I went to college had an extreme number of bars, all within walking distance of each other) and people I didn't even know were buying me shots. Ugh! I was not used to drinking that much and it didn't agree with me (read: pukefest).

Sorta like a birthday gift, my ass... Come on, I'm really not that cool... :rollin Nah, I'm just kidding... Anyway, glad your birthday went well. I think quieter things are sometimes exactly what is needed. It's what I've got planned. :)

Laura- sounds exactly like how mine was! I lived in Atlanta back then and we all went to a place called "Buckhead" Full of bars lining the streets. Yep. Lots of fun. Lots of free drinks. Don't remember too much. :drink :drink

See, people? Birthday disasters like these are the reason why I turn into this huge boooring freak on my brithdays who'd rather spend the day with her family alone than meeting friends out of the house. If they want to, they can come over though. They all know where I live, so... :grin
