-Dawson and Pacey do not appear in this episode. (credit Stela at FF)

-Audrey comes back in this episode. (credit hoydenish at FF)

-Dr. Drew (from Loveline) will guest star in this episode. (credit GrayC25 at PN)

-This episode will focus on the relationships of several couples on the show, particularly Joey and Eddie. As a benefit for a campus counseling center, Joey and Eddie are hauled before an audience to discuss their relationship with "Loveline" hosts, Dr. Drew Pinsky and Adam Carolla, who will be playing themselves. Jack and David face some of their own issues at the event, and a newly returned and sober Audrey has eyes for Dr. Drew. Pacey doesn't have a major part in the episode. (credit Zap2it.com)

-At the event, the characters start airing out their dirty laundry. One relationship, in particular, is this girl trying to break up with a guy, but she idealizes him and thinks he's the greatest thing in the world. He's so perfect that she has to sabotage the relationship. (credit Dr. Drew at The Loveline Companion)

-Adam and Drew weren't happy with the way Adam was portrayed in the script. Adam comes off looking like an ass, trolling around backstage for girls. Meanwhile, Dr. Drew comes off looking like a saint, and all the girls want to know where he is. Drew isn't around because he catches an early flight out. (credit Dr. Drew and Adam on Lovelines)

-Jen is in the episode. She is helping to organize the event because it's for the counseling center she and C.J. volunteer at. She's onstage with Dr. Drew and Adam, sort of co-hosting. (credit Monica at FF)

-Since the rewrites, the episode is much more focused on Jen and her problems with C.J., as well as her worries over Grams. (credit Stela at FF)

-The following is a snippet of dialogue between Jen and C.J.:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JEN: Oh, boy. I sure hope someone picks up. Ring, ring. Ring, ring.
C.J.: I'm not gonna do this.
JEN: (ignoring) Desperate girl here. Ready to do something irrational if she doesn't find someone to talk to... quick.
C.J.: (uninspired) Hello?
JEN: Hello, is this the Helpline?
C.J.: Yes.
JEN: Because you didn't answer it as the Helpline.
C.J.: (indignant) Hello, Helpline.
JEN: Who am I speaking with? Because you didn't say your name?
C.J.: (exasperated) Hello, Helpline. This is C.J. What's your crisis?
JEN: Hello, C.J. You have a really sweet voice.
C.J.: Do you have a crisis or not?
JEN: Yeah. I guess I do. And you sound like someone I can trust. Someone who could be completely and utterly sympathetic to a girl with a lot of problems.

-Read an extra's account of the filming of this episode (primarily some Lovelines event scenes) here. (credit joeylovespacey/Melissa at FF)
-There were special extras used in the Lovelines' audience to ask Dr. Drew and Adam questions. Josh directed the extras and gave them suggestions, changing some of the questions in the process. The following are several examples of the questions that were asked:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GIRL #1: Is it good for the skin?
(Josh told her to emphasize it and the act like she was rubbing something on her face.)
GIRL #2: Is it okay to use a vibrator?
(Josh told her to look as innocent as possible.)

GIRL #3: Sometimes I am so loud that I disturb the neighbors.
(Josh told her to try it again and change little things like I wake up the neighbors, they call the cops, etc.)

GUY #1" Is it weird that I like to listen to “Pop Goes the Weasel” when I am with my girl?
(Josh told him to do it again with different songs. He was really getting a kick out of this and so was everyone else.)

GUY #2: How small is Too Small?
(Josh told him to use hand gestures.)

GIRL: How many partners are too many? At one time?

GUY: Is it true that it happens to every guy at least once?

(credit Melissa)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Adam and Jen do not see eye-to-eye in the episode. Adam has to "yell at her" or they get into an argument of sorts. (credit Adam and Michelle on Lovelines)
-The following is a portion of a scene between Jen, Adam, Dr. Drew, and C.J. at the Loveline fundraiser being held at Boston Bay:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADAM CAROLLA: Before I was a yob. Now I'm an expert. How'd that happen?
DR. DREW: Actually, maybe you should answer that question, Jennifer. People came here tonight to help the Helpline -- may as well give them a sample of what they'll get when they call in.
JEN: (hesitant) Okay, well if you must know... I think the answer to that question has many parts. One, this girl does not sound like a self-hating whack job. Maybe she's just... confused.
C.J.: To say the least.
JEN: And two, maybe she's got a lot on her plate at the moment and simply doesn't have time for a relationship.
ADAM CAROLLA: And three?
JEN: That's it.
ADAM CAROLLA: You can't do a countdown of reasons and stop at two.
JEN: Says who?
ADAM CAROLLA: It's an unwritten precept. Like never double dipping, or never peeing in a pool, or always looking straight ahead when you're at the urinals or --
JEN: Okay, okay, fine... Three...

-Jack will have a storyline in Episodes 619 and 620, and possibly beyond. (credit Joe at dawsonscreek.com)
-The following are Jack scenes with David and a "Hot Guy":

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Int. Boston Bay College. – Cafeteria – Afternoon
The buzz of the big event is in the air. The cafeteria is decorated with reminders of tonight's event.
Jack sells tickets to a frenzy of girls at one end of the table. David waits on a random hot guy at the other.
HOT GUY: So are there like assigned seats or how does this work?
DAVID: General Admission. First-come, first-served.
HOT GUY: So if I wanted to sit by someone specific…the best way would be to just ask him.
DAVID: (hands him a ticket) That would work.
HOT GUY: So…you going with anybody?
DAVID: Me?
HOT GUY: Yeah. Is that a problem?
DAVID: (flattered) No. Well, I normally wouldn't mind…But you'd have to ask my boyfriend…Jack.
The frenzy of girl customers moves off, allowing David to point out the boyfriend in question.
JACK: You rang?
DAVID: Yeah, thought I'd introduce you to this guy who had the good taste to hit on me. Jack, this is…
HOT GUY: Fred. Hi. Sorry about that.
They shake. David starts waiting on a new customer.
JACK: No problem, it's cool. Well, I mean…it's not cool of course. Although I do like to pimp him out from time to time.
HOT GUY: Gotcha
He smiles. Jack smiles back. After which a slightly awkward pause ensues. And since David's busy, there's no one to break it up. Finally, Jack takes the initiative.
JACK: Well, it was nice meeting you.
HOT GUY: You too.
Hot Guy gathers his things and leaves. David finishes up with his customer and turns back to Jack. Oblivious to the fact that he may have just met his Waterloo.
DAVID: He seemed nice.
JACK: Yeah, he did.
And back they go to selling tickets.

...

Jack sits alone, scanning the crowd for David. His jacket reserves a seat next to him. But seats are filling up all around him. How long is that going to work?
HOT GUY: I hate to tell you this, but in about two minutes there's going to be a riot for that seat.
Jack turns and sees a familiar face. Just not the right one.
JACK: Hey.
HOT GUY: Hey. Jack, right?
JACK: Yeah.
HOT GUY: Fred. So where's the boyfriend?
JACK: That would be the question of the hour. Clearly not where he's supposed to be.
HOT GUY: But it is taken…right? The seat.
Jack squirms a bit. At a crossroads. Show's about to start. Looks around a final time for David. Doesn't see him. Figures he's been hit by a truck or something.
JACK: Uh…no, no…what the hell…it's all yours.
He removes his coat. HOT GUY takes the seat. Off Jack, and the wave of guilt crashing across his face…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-A scene was filmed in which David walks up and sees Jack sitting and talking with another guy. David gets really mad at the other guy. The following is a snippet of dialogue between them:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GUY: (to Jack) You are going to get reamed for that.
DAVID: For not saving your boyfriend a seat?
JACK: David-- You remember…
DAVID: Yeah, Nice to see you again. I thought we said the right side…
The lights go off and the audience starts clapping.

-A scene was filmed at the Lovelines event where David asks, "What should a person do if they see their boyfriend openly flithing with another guy?" (credit Melissa)
-According to an early version of the script, this episode is largely focused on Joey and Eddie. While they are not without any conflict, they are also schmoopy and in love. (credit hoydenish at FF)

-Joey obsesses about her grades with Eddie. Dr. Drew and Adam Carolla appear at an event to support Jen's counselling center. (credit Wanda)

-"The Eddie" is a sex move. (credit Monica at FF)

-Eddie tries to make several sexual advances (kisses, etc.) towards Joey, but she pushes him away. (credit karensisco at PN)

-Joey is worried that Eddie will leave her again, which causes her to be standoffish towards him. (credit hoydenish at FF)

-Joey and Eddie are experiencing "trust issues" due to the way he left her before, but he says everything he cane to put her mind at ease. They make up by the end. (credit Stela at FF)

-Neither Joey nor Eddie mentions Pacey or Dawson with regards to their trust issues. (credit Jill Leigh at FF)

-While in the audience, Eddie asks Joey, "Why is it so hard for you to talk about sex?" Adam Carolla says, "I think we have a winner here," and Eddie and Joey are brought on stage. (credit Melissa)

-Sex is still an issue with Joey and Eddie, which just becomes fodder for the Dr. Drew and Loveline thing. It's been toned down a bit and a more serious issue was added. Dr. Drew clues in on the fact that Joey has other issues that probably go back to her father, but Joey won't have it. She is not very cooperative. Joey and Eddie are still together at the end of the episode and go off to have sex. (credit Stela at FF)

-Audrey tells Eddie she will kill him if he hurts Joey again. (credit Monica at FF)

-Joey and Eddie ditch Audrey at the end, so Dr. Drew has to give her a ride home. (credit Stela at FF)

-Pacey mentioned Joey several times, in terms of someone who has slipped away, but feels he has to cut his losses at some point. As far as he knows, she is still with Eddie. (credit karensisco at PN)

-Sadia is gone after this episode. (credit karensisco at PN)

-Eddie does not want Joey to leave school to go away with him. They are planning a summer trip together. It appears that Joey is at the end of her school semester. (credit Jill Leigh at FF)

-Joey initially says yes to Eddie's plan of going to Europe together, and they seem happy. Then, she is no longer sure that it's a good idea. They have an argument that leads Joey to have another "moment of clarity." She has little epiphanies about herself. (credit Stela at FF)

-Eddie leaves Joey a goodbye letter that is a voiceover at the end of the episode. (credit Monica at FF)

-The reason Joey ends up saying no to Europe and the reason Eddie leaves is because Joey says she is running away from someone and something again, which leads to them getting into a fight. She says she has made that mistake before and it ended up blowing up in her face, so she's not going to do it again. (credit Jess at PN)

-Joey tells Eddie that she's not sure that going to Europe is a good idea, and they should think about it because it's no way to resolve their problems. She says that running away on a romantic adventure seems like a good idea at the time (this is when she is referencing Season 3), but all the same problems she had before she left were still there when she got back. She basically says she doesn't want to escape from her life again. Eddie doesn't like this, which leads to a heated argument. During the argument, Joey has an epiphany about herself, and three specific instances/episodes are mentioned in the stage directions of times she ran scared from her issues and feelings. (credit Stela at FF)

-The three episodes that are referenced are Episodes 100, 323, and 602. (credit Jess at FF)

-Joey initially has reservations about leaving right away for Europe with Eddie, and they fight. He leaves because she needs some time alone. The rest of Joey's scenes are with Professor Hetson. They discuss "Catch-22" and coincidentally what she had an insight about earlier. From their discussion, she decides to go to Europe with Eddie after all, but she finds his letter and that he's already gone. (credit Stela at FF)

-The last scene is Pacey going up to Dawson's house, while a voiceover of Eddie reading his goodbye letter to Joey is playing in the background. (credit Jess at PN)

-The episode ends with Pacey standing in front of Dawson's house in Capeside, trying to work up the nerve to tell him about the money. (credit Monica at FF)

-The teaser of this episode picks up where Episode 620 leaves off with Pacey at Dawson's house. Pacey just doesn't have the heart to tell him about the money. (credit Stela at FF)

-Audrey is sympathetic and a good friend to Pacey. They share a scene at Hell's Kitchen. Jack Osbourne is also there. (credit hoydenish and karensisco at FF and PN)

-The following is from the scene between Pacey and Audrey at Hell's Kitchen:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INT. HELL'S KITCHEN – LATE AFTERNOON
It's a slow afternoon at Hell's Kitchen and Pacey is sitting at the bar, looking a little more unkempt then the slick Pacey we've seen all season. In addition to a drink, we see that he has an application for Hell's Kitchen sitting in front of him.

(Filler scene follows between Audrey and Jack O. – they both see Pacey and proceed towards him.)

Pacey and Audrey share lines of what they've been up to since they've been gone. Pacey talks of Audrey's rehab stint, and Audrey questions what happened to Pacey's job. Audrey makes a cute comment that she's Pacey's personal superhero.

AUDREY: …. What are you hiding from, Pacey?
PACEY: The guy in the suit. (beat) Funny thing about the suit. It only brought bad things, but people sure crawled out of the woodwork telling me they were proud of me for wearing it.
AUDREY: Well, if it helps, I hated it. (beat) Besides, they weren't proud of the job. They were proud of you.
PACEY: It's not so much about the job, Audrey. I mean, after all, it was just kind of a front in the end, wasn't it? I reeled people in and let them believed in me for a second. What a colossal mistake.
AUDREY: You know what? This isn't you talking. This is you're former self rearing its ugly head. What did the guy in the suit do that was so incredibly bad, Pacey? Was it really bad enough to be boozin' in the afternoon?
PACEY: Pretty much, yeah. Let's just say I gave some advice and I took some money and I should never in the lifetime have been allowed to do either one. And now there's a big old mess that even the smooth talker in me can't fix.
AUDREY: Well, thank god for that, right? Because that guy was full of bull. (beat) Come on Pacey. I know moments like these. One path is the harsh reality and one path is the comfortably numb. But guess what? In the morning when you're sobered up, the problem's still gonna be there, only now it will be a big, festering wound and you'll be the jerk who sat back and let it get worse.
PACEY: Thanks for not walking on eggshells around me.
AUDREY: I'm your personal superhero, remember?
She knocks into him gently, maybe gives him a comforting squeeze on the shoulder. And we leave them there, two people who know each other pretty damn well.

-We find out something interesting about Grams in this episode and how Jen is dealing with it. (credit hoydenish at FF)
-Grams and Jen have a garage sale. (credit Sunchild at PN)

-Jen's mom (played by Mimi Rodgers instead of Mel Harris) shows up by taxi at Grams's house. She walks up to the door and rings the doorbell. Jen answers and is surprised to see her. They talk and then hug. Then Jen helps her mom bring in her luggage. (credit Sunchild at PN)

-Dawson does not give Joey his script as a gift, however, he leaves the script for her at the B&B, not knowing that she's in town. He also apologizes. (credit hoydenish at FF)

-Dawson and Joey have three scenes together. (credit karensisco at PN)

-Dawson and Joey discuss the past and some of the issues between them. Pacey is not a topic of an issue in their conversation. Neither Dawson nor Joey knows what is about to happen concerning the money. (credit Stela at FF)

-Joey spends a lot of time at Dawson's house, arranging for his movie to get made after he throws his script away and starts trashing his room. Gale (and her credit card) comes in and tells Dawson that he is fired from Leery's Fresh Fish and to go make his movie. Joey does a lot of work to make Dawson's room back to the way it was in Season One. She's not spending all of that time with Dawson while he's working at Leery's Fresh Fish, but she does spend some time there beforehand. (credit Roxy at FF)

-Dawson and Pacey have two scenes together. (credit Stela at FF)

-Pacey and Joey have one scene together. (credit Stela at FF)

-Dawson, Pacey, and Joey are all in the same scene at one point. (credit Stela at FF)

-The following is a portion of a scene between Dawson and Joey right before the Dawson/Pacey fight:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INT. LEERY HOUSE - FOYER - NIGHT
Dawson and Joey walk down the stairs.
JOEY: God, I didn't even realize how late it had gotten
DAWSON: You probably never thought when you came over here that we'd spend the whole afternoon talking.
JOEY: Call it a nice suprise.
DAWSON: Still didn't solve my problem, though.
JOEY: What's that?
DAWSON: Same one I've always had. Finding someone to play you.
Joey's flattered. They step out onto the porch...

(credit Jenn at FF)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-The fight between Dawson and Pacey is in front of Dawson's house. Joey is just leaving. Pacey stops her by grabbing her arm and tells her to stay because she should see this since she's going to hear about it anyway. Dawson and Pacey rip into each other and say things that really need to be said. Joey is horrifired. Dawson runs off into his house, and Pacey goes to the dock. Joey goes after Pacey and stays with him. She makes him feel a lot better, and they talk for quite awhile. The following are a few snippets from their scene:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pacey is sitting alone on the dock, where he's obviously been doing some thinking and sobering up (he's drunk, not sloppy) for a while. After a moment Joey walks down and joins him.
JOEY: You okay, Pace?
A moment, and he wearily replies.
PACEY: You don't have to do this.
JOEY: Do what?
PACEY: Check up on me. I know what you want to do. Go in there, Jo. Help him lick his wounds. You don't have to sit out here watching over the lost cause. What's the point, right?
Joey goes on to tell him that she wants to be there and if she wanted to be with Dawson she would have gone.

We hear how they first met when they were five. It was at a butterfly garden.

JOEY: If I wanted to go back in that house, Pacey, I would have done it a long time ago. Don't you know me at all by now?
PACEY: I just don't want you sitting out here feeling sorry for me, Jo.
JOEY: I don't feel sorry for you, Pace. I just feel for you. Can't you ever tell the difference?
PACEY: I don't know. I guess I can't. We've had kind of a confusing run of it, haven't we?
JOEY: No matter how much I love you, or how long I stay with you, you're only going to remember the moments when I leave.
PACEY: You're gonna have to forgive me for that, because those are pretty much the toughest moments of in my life.

Another piece of dialogue from the scene...

PACEY: My best friend in the whole world just walked away from me, and he said things that can't ever be taken back. And the saddest part of all that, is that my best friend in the whole world basically hasn't known me for three years. So tell me, how does that make me a man with a support network?
JOEY: You've got one person right here, Pace. But I know that won't ever be enough. Not until you let it.

(credit Roxy at PN)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Joey tells Pacey that her feelings for him are not romantic and are just as a friend. She tells him that he really needs to put his issues with Dawson behind him and go fix their friendship. (credit hoydenish at FF)
-Pacey is whining about how they have "scripted parts" in this drama, and Joey basically tells him that's not true. At that moment, she's decided to wash her hands of the whole situation and go to Paris. Pacey says that she is supposed to be in there with Dawson and not out there with him. He's not talking about wanting to be with her, he's talking about how things are "supposed" to be. Joey tells him that she may not be in his life the "scripted" way, but she's in his life in her own way at the time. She's in his life on her own terms. She goes on to talk about how they are ghosts of their former selves, and like with all ghosts, they need to make peace, so they can move on. (credit Roxy at FF)

-The following is from the end of the dock scene between Pacey and Joey:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXT. LEERY DOCK - NIGHT
PACEY: This isn't your fight, Joey.
JOEY: You're right. It's not my fight. Because it was all over a long time ago. Now you just have to make it right.
PACEY: You said it yourself, Jo. I can't get out of my own way. I don't know how to fix this.
JOEY: Yes you do. (beat) That's the thing about ghosts, Pace. They say they don't leave until they're at peace with what they left undone. Don't you want to move on?
A moment, and then Joey crouches behind Pacey and gives him a fierce hug before she walks away, leaving Pacey alone with his thoughts, looking out over the water.

-Pacey and Joey do not discuss Eddie. His name is never even brought up. (credit Roxy at FF)
-The last Pacey/Joey scene is at the beginning of Act Four. It's not the last scene of the episode with dialogue. The last scene is a montage, and the episode ends with Dawson/Pacey angst. (credit Stela at FF)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Season Finale 5/7
After Pacey loses all of Dawson's money for his upcoming "Dawson's Creek" independent film, Pacey takes it upon himself to raise enough money from the Capeside community to allow Dawson to complete his film with the help of Jen, Jack, Audrey, Grams, Gail, Doug and Todd! Joey (who has already broken up with Eddie) feels that her triangle with Dawson and Pacey is resolved as the two have once again become best friends, leaving Joey the opportunity to pursue her dream of going to Paris.

JOEY: (v.o.) But this is how it felt ...

ENDS:

JOEY: I can't swear this is exactly how it happened. But this IS how it felt ...

RESTAURANT OWNER: (hands the bag to customer) Which is what exactly?
Pacey takes a beat, smiles. It's been a long day. Filled with salesmanship. And this guy seems pretty cool. He shrugs. Puts all the bull**** aside...
PACEY: Honestly, man. Just trying to help out a friend.
The restaurant owner smiles.
RESTAURANT OWNER: You know what? Don't go any place. (to the customer) I'll be back with your change.
**** THE ABOVE IS CROSSED OUT ****

START SC # 1

Pacey smiles, victorious. And then the blonde customer does something unusual for an extra... she speaks.
BLONDE CUSTOMER: You've changed your pitch a lot since this morning.
PACEY: Excuse me?
BLONDE CUSTOMER: You don't remember me, do you?
PACEY: Should I?
BLONDE CUSTOMER: Yes.
PACEY: Oh my god. The receptionist. You're the receptionist from the dentist's office. Thank you, thank you so much. That was my first stop of what's been a very long day, and --
BLONDE CUSTOMER: -- No, you really don't remember me, do you?
PACEY: I'm sorry. I...
BLONDE CUSTOMER: From high school? I mean I have to admit this is kind of a blow to my ego. The way you used to follow me around all the time. It was kinda pathetic, actually. And her eyou are... firve years later, and it's like you don't even remember me.
The restaurant owner returns from the back with her change.
RESTAURANT OWNER: Here you go, Christie.
BLONDE CUSTOMER: Thanks. Nice seeing you again, Pacey.
She starts to leave.

END (handwritten)

**** THE FOLLOWING IS SCRATCHED OUT ****

PACEY: Christie?
RESTAURANT OWNER: Yeah, Christie Livingstone. Used to be head cheerlead --
PACEY: -- Christie! Christie, wait up.
Old Pacey is back. He takes off. Eternally chasing the girl. We see him catch up to her in the door way. Then...

CUT TO:

EXT. LEERY HOUSE - AFTERNOON - LATER (D-3)

While Joey fixes Harley's hair, they have a little chat about the script.

HARLEY: So you're sure I'm not a lesbian?
JOEY: Yes, I'm sure.
HARLEY: Because it would explain a lot. I mean otherwise... why do I hate this next door neighbor girl so much? And why would I rather hang out with this asexual film dork than go to France?

**** END CROSSED OUT SECTION ****

Handwritten SC # 2 3/3

INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT (N-3)

Pacey is ensconced in a booth with Christy, who's long since finished her to-go order. They've been hanging out awhile, catching up, drinking coffee...
PACEY: The truth? Of course I'm telling the truth. Why would I lie about such things?
CHRISTY: Pacey Witter? Sad-ass stud and man about town?
PACEY: Okay, I would lie about such things. But in this case I'm not. I really did sail practically all over the world. And I did own a BMW. Gospel truth.
CHRISTY: I see. And now, after much soul-searching, you're back... right where you started from.
PACEY: Well, not right where. I'm talking to you, aren't I?
CHRISTY: Yes, you are. Or you were...
She gets up.
PACEY: Whoa. You're not leaving, are you?
CHRISTY: Sorry. Have to. Should have left ages ago. But you can call me... in fact you should... call me. Bye, Pacey.

END (handwritten)

She heads toward the door. He calls after her... sounding much more like the goofy, insecure sophomore he once was than the suave ladies man he's become.
PACEY: Bye. Bye, Christy.
And just as this vision of loveliness disappears out the door, another one walks in.

Later...

AUDREY: Back to the slutty Ms Jacobs. Do you think I should try and track her down? Ya know, try and get a handle on her motivations and such? Might help me with my thesping.
JOEY: (beat) Yeah, lemme know how that works out for you, Audrey.

Later; right before Dawson is about to begin filming...

Audrey gets excited, raises her hand--
AUDREY Ooooh, I'm gonna play Ms. Jacobs, the woman who seduced a young boy on the verge of manhood.
DAWSON: I know who she is, Audrey.
AUDREY: I do have some notes, though. (off Joey's look) Later, We can talk about it later.

JOEY: Can I just have five minutes alone with him?

-The following is an episode summary from a memo that was sent out by The WB Network to an affiliate:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Series Finale 5/14
Five years have passed, everyone returns to Capeside for Gail's wedding. Dawson is a television writer, Joey is recently engaged and a book editor, Pacey is a bartender, and Jen is a single mother. As Dawson readies himself to tell Joey that he still loves her, Jen collapses at the wedding reception and everyone learns that she is dying. As Jen is on her deathbed, she calls Andie to Capeside and Andie and Pacey reignite their relationship leaving Joey to admit to Dawson that she is in love with him and they live happily ever after...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-The finale may jump ahead two years in time to show what is happening in the characters' lives after college. (credit USA Today)
-On the Graham Norton Show in the UK, Katie said that the finale will "jump ahead four years just to tie up loose ends." She also said there was going to be a wedding, but not who will be involved.

-On Channel 4, in the UK, James Van Der Beek stated that Dawson's Creek would be ending with a two-hour final that jumps ahead two years into the future to tie up loose ends.

-According to a TV Guide interview with Kevin Williamson, the finale will jump ahead five years into the future and will center around the wedding of one of the main characters. The following are a few excerpts from the interview:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TVGO: Who will Joey end up with: Dawson or Pacey?
Williamson: No comment... [but] I'm going to twist and turn it throughout the two hours. The interesting thing will be, what ever happened to Dawson and his career? Where is he five years later? You know how people ask you, "Where do you want to be in five years?" Well, we're going to find out. There will be some surprises in terms of who shows up, who's doing what, where so-and-so went, who ended up with whom... And the surprises start right in the first frame. There are other surprises we plant throughout the entire episode. And it's all centering around a wedding.
TVGO: Anything else?
Williamson: Quite frankly, I want Joey to make a decision. I think the last couple of seasons I've gotten frustrated with her character sort of being here, there, everywhere. Also, it's going to be fun to play up... you know how during the first two seasons it was a very self-aware type show? Well, it's going to be fun to watch our characters rendered speechless. I'm going to finally render them speechless. There's going to be a lot of laughs and tears. And we're going to do the whole tear-jerking ending.

TVGO: Speaking of tears, is there any truth to the rumor that a major character will die?
Williamson: (pausing) I won't say no, and I won't say yes.

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

A young teenage boy's bedroom. The walls are adorned with everything Spielberg. Two teens, no more than fifteen, sit on the bed. A girl-- SAM and a boy-- COLBY are in a dramatic outpouring of adolescent angst. It's very familiar.
COLBY: Feelings and emotions have an inexplicable way of manifesting themselves in subconscious, and not always, self-aware behavior.
SAM: Your verbal deconstruction of teen angst is really outdated, Colby. There's nothing going on between me and Petey. He's just a friend-- your best friend, I might add. I have no subconscious subliminal intentions towards him.
COLBY: Just a friend, huh?
SAM: Yes -- friend. That's all. Period. End of sentence, dissertation, and post-modern diatribe. Now, can we go to sleep?
Sam falls back onto the pillow, wanting desperately to end this argument. Clearly, it's pushed too many buttons in her. Colby falls back onto his side of the bed. Exasperated. A quiet moment as the tension settles. Finally...
COLBY: Is Petey a friend the same way you and I are "just" friends?
Sam thinks about this long and hard. Not quite sure how to answer. Not sure she should...then...
SAM: Yeah...of, course...
A long moment as Colby realizes a painfully sad truth.
COLBY: That's what I was afraid of.
The CAMERA PULLS BACK revealing two awkward teens squirming in a bed of confused and conflicted feelings for one another. The SCREEN fades to black revealing an END TITLE CARD:

-The following spoilers originated from a U.S. television journalist. According to the original source, these spoilers are what has been planned for what could happen in the finale, but not necessarily what will make the final script: The series finale storylines may begin at the end of Episode 622. There will be a "considerable revelation" between Dawson and Joey, which will be very important for the end. There may be a death, possibly Grams, which will bring everyone back to Capeside for the funeral. The characters will gather together in Capeside after suffering a "communication breakdown" for the past two years. A surprise is in store for both fans of D/J and P/J. There will not be an "I choose myself" ending for Joey. The series could have an "open ending." (credit Filbounette at FF)

Considering this is the series finale, if the triangle comes into play again there's no way this show will go out with an unhappy Dawson. I simply don't believe it. So, if this is heading to a P/Jo reunion and Stela and others are correct about some unresolved Joey love in Dawson's cold evil dead heart, then Dawson must step aside gallantly (bwah!) this time instead of Troll Face 2003. Which on one hand is disappointing but still good for us.
