Brief Bio: (provided by TheWB.com) A native of British Columbia, Jackson landed his first professional acting job at age 9, when he was cast in several commercials for British Columbia Tourism. Best known as fast-talking, self-deprecating Pacey Witter on "Dawson's Creek," Joshua Jackson spent the first part of 2001 shuttling between Wilmington, North Carolina, where he filmed the fourth season of the WB hit, and Austin, Texas, where he shot the Screen Gems comedy "Lone Star State of Mind" for director Dave Semel. Joshua stars as Earl Crest, an affable good ol' boy who becomes embroiled in a drug heist gone awry, headlining an ensemble cast that includes James King, DJ Qualls, Matthew Davis, Ryan Hurst, John Mellencamp and Thomas Haden Church. He recently wrapped another feature, the indie drama "The Safety of Objects," written and directed by Rose Troche. As Paul Gold, a suburban son whose coma galvanizes those around him, Joshua is part of an all-star cast, which includes Glenn Close, playing his mother, Dermot Mulroney, Timothy Olyphant, Robert Klein and Patricia Clarkson. Joshua became a leading man last spring in Universal Pictures' "The Skulls," playing an Ivy League scholarship student, who is seduced by the wealth and power of an elitist, all-male secret society. Also last spring, Joshua appeared with James Marsden and Kate Hudson in Warner Bros.' "Gossip," a drama exploring the destructive power of words. In spite of his recent celebrity, Joshua has been working in front of the camera for thirteen years. His first feature film role was in Michael Bortman's "Crooked Hearts" (1991), which was quickly followed by the "Mighty Ducks" trilogy. While playing Charlie, the coach's hockey prodigy and the team's voice of reason, he also appeared in "Digger" and "Andre the Seal." More recently, Joshua had scene-stealing cameos in Columbia Tri-Star's "Cruel Intentions" and "Urban Legend," and featured performances in Bryan Singer's "Apt Pupil" and "Scream 2." Currently, Jackson divides his time between Vancouver and Los Angeles. special thanks to http://www.joshjackson.net |
