turned everything on its head. Then I got everything that I wanted, and from that day forward I’ve just been a wreck."

Katie has a new movie coming out this fall and the trailer looks very good. It's a thriller with Benjamin Bratt. Here's the trailer link at Yahoo.

Cory~ never even heard of it. Thanks! From the one pic it looks really good. Of course I'm having problems getting the trailer to work. What's it about? When is it coming out in theaters? She's been getting alot of movies lately with starring roles. I think it's pretty terrific.

I'm sorry you can't get the trailer to work. Hmmm?!
Oh...the name of the movie is Abandon and this is the summary from Yahoo:

Catherine Burke (Katie Holmes) is under pressure. She faces exams, completion of her thesis and a competitive interview process, all of which is compounded when a police detective, Wade Handler (Benjamin Bratt) begins investigating the two-year-old disappearance of her boyfriend, Embry Langan (Charlie Hunnam), a young man whose memory haunts and obsesses her. As the investigation continues, Catherine is forced to choose between her past passions and new possibilities, even as Handler is discovering surprising new facts about Embry and his possible connection to another disappearance from campus.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for drug and alcohol content, sexuality, some violence and language.

Release Date: September 27, 2002.

I saw that poster (well same image) today when I was working on the DC store. It's not available on DVD yet (duh ) but I was looking at it neverless..

That other movie about the phone booth sounds really interesting. Now there's a weird movie. Original though, I suppose.

MISS MEADOWS

Miss Meadows is a dark comedy about a substitute school teacher with impeccable manners and grace who has no idea just how beautiful and wickedly funny she is… because she is focused solely on her mission: to rid the community of predators and evil of all kinds with her well polished little gun inside her pocketbook. Her delicate beauty and simple moral code were borne in a tragic childhood where she witnessed a horrendous loss.

Miss Meadows arrives in a new town every year. This time, she finds what she was never was looking for... Love with a Sheriff. It turns out she’s exactly who this man of the law and his task force have been hunting for.

Miss Meadows never looks for trouble, but she certainly never turns away from it, either.

Miss Meadows believes everyone deserves a second chance, but never a third.

All men want her, all women want to be her, all children need her... She is a real hero in these most un-heroic times.

"What Would Miss Meadows Do?" More importantly, what would we do without her?

Katie Holmes: "Excited" to Shoot The Giver With Meryl Streep, Taylor Swift and More

Katie Holmes has reason to be pumped: Her next movie is based on a hugely popular young-adult novel and she'll be working with Meryl Streep.

Aces all around.

"I'm really excited about it," the actress told E! News at the Global Citizen Festival in NYC's Central Park about her upcoming trip to South Africa to shoot The Giver, based on Lois Lowry's 1993 Newberry Medal winner about a society that doesn't realize it's dystopian because everyone lives in a state of Sameness, rather than have memories or emotions.

That is, until Jonas, the nearly 12-year-old boy chosen to become the next Receiver of Memory—the one person chosen to store all the past experience in case a certain bit of knowledge is needed for problem solving—meets the outgoing Receiver, aka the Giver.

And the Giver has some stories to tell that make Jonas question whether there just might not be more to life than Sameness.

Principal photography on the film is scheduled to begin Oct. 7 in Cape Town with an eye on an Aug. 15, 2014, theatrical release.

Streep is onboard to play Jonas' main adversary, the Chief Elder. The film's confirmed cast also includes Taylor Swift , Alexander Skarsgård, Jeff Bridges and Australian actor Brenton Thwaites, who's set to play the young hero.
