All New | Waiting in the Wings | 9/8c Angel (David Boreanaz) takes the gang out for an evening at the ballet, but becomes suspicious when the prima ballerina (guest star Summer Glau) is one he saw dance more than a century ago. When Angel and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) sneak backstage to investigate, they find themselves consumed with an overwhelming passion for one another as the spirits of unrequited lovers take over. Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards and Amy Acker also star. Joss Whedon wrote and directed the episode.

Okay, just got done watching it.. and I thought it was really good! I loved the parts with Cordella & Angel.. Although, I was sad in the end for Angel, it appears he is really starting to fall for her & same goes with the Professor (forgive me for not knowing all the names) I felt bad for him too as it was clearly obvious he is in love with the other girl? I also just have to add the girls looked sooo nice in the dresses.. I remember how great it used to be to get all dressed up like that.. so much fun..(LOL, that sounded pretty sad.. ) You know what I mean though.

Ok Angel, Cordy (his love intrest), Wesley (the professer dude), Gunn (Well, the black guy.), and Fred (the other girl) are their names (Forgive me if I miss spell ha ha ) and um the green guy is Lorne (ha ha had to look that one up) and (if you don't know what i'm talking about then don't ask he's just some weird charactor that has been in it once or twice) that one dude Skip, he was pretty funny (Although he wasn't in this ep, not meaning to confuse the bunny ) , anways bye bye

I feel so sorry for Wesley. I really wanted him with Fred. I like Gunn and all, but I didn't expect them together. I thought that he was just going to be the push that Wesley needed to make a move, because he'd realize he had to do something fast or miss his chance. Well, Fred and Gunn are pretty cute together. .. I remember how great it used to be to get all dressed up like tha[/b] I remember how great it was buying a fancy dress, wearing once, and returning it. heehee Actually, I only ever did that once, and it was a very long time ago. As for Angel and Cordelia - I don't see how they could be together. Angel has to be careful about how much joy he has in his life and all that nonsense. I figure that having his son is already making him pretty happy. Having a girlfriend also might push him over the edge.

Okay, refresh my memory here.. why does Angel have to be careful on how much joy is in his life?

This is from S2 Buffy. A gypsy curse gave back his soul as punishment so that he would feel remorse for all the evil things he did. However, what he didn't know is that if he felt one moment of pure joy, he'd lose his soul again and be evil. So when he and Buffy got all lovey-dovey, Angel went evil again. They redid the curse and gave him his soul back, but he could still lose it again if he feels pure joy (unless something changed and I just missed it).

Thanks guys for the info! Question is though, would that curse still hold up now? Since it's not linked to Buffy anymore? Why doesn't it hold true with the baby? I know that has to be some pure joy, if I've ever known it.

The curse happened over 100 years ago. It had nothing to do with Buffy. It's just that when he was in love with Buffy he experienced pure joy for the first time.
I wonder about the baby too. But maybe it's because there are people after the baby and he has a lot of fear relating to that. Though I suppose all parents have fear relating to their babies and whether something terrible might happen.
The thing is that he experienced this "moment of pure joy" when he & Buffy slept together for the first time, so most people think it is just linked to him having sex with someone he loves. But the curse just said joy, not physical intimacy, and he seems to be 100% in love with that baby and really happy to have him, so I don't know why it doesn't count.

Thanks Laura! I guess this is a loophole then? Because it doesn't make sense. Can I also ask who the mom is to the baby and where she is? Sorry I've missed quite a few eps since the beginning
