In a simple phrase I never get tired of hearing "What the HELL is that thing?" I think that sums up my feelings about Caleb, the newest, upcoming addition to the First's dark army. This guy sounds like trouble beyond. Way worse than the Ubervamp that Buffy slew in "Showtime." I was reading Spoilers on his first appearance (an episode away). He arrives the same time as Faith. Apparently the guy blew up the Watcher's council, will inevitably kill potential Slayer Molly, take Xander's eye, and render Buffy, Faith and Spike unconscious all in their first encounter. There's been some reference to Cain and Abel made by Caleb himself. Don't know much about Cain and Abel myself, besides the whole first murder thing. The real question I have is "What is he?" I mean the only other thing I can think of that could take out Buffy, Spike and Faith at once would be the Hell goddess Glory. So Caleb could be very much like her. Some kinda dark deity type that has aligned with the First. Either way "can hardly wait to see how it turns out."

I hear he's showing up for the finale 5 episodes. So there being only 6 eps left, he should show up in the next few weeks that contain new eps. All signs point to the episode in which Faith arrives, which is episode 18 I believe. Haven't a clue what the episode will be entitled though. A new tid bit I just heard is that Caleb is the leader leader of the Harbingers (the bringers, wacky eyes, etc) and that they've been doing his bidding and not that of the First. I originally thought they were the First's men, but I guess they really work for Caleb, of course Caleb serves the first, so I guess in a round about way they do work for the First. Oh and by the way FAITH'S ON ANGEL TONIGHT!

Just heard a casting rumor that Natham Fillian will be playing Caleb. I heard he used to play the Captain or something like that on Firefly.I never watched Firefly so this is all just speculation. I saw a picture of the guy, not exactly who I pictured playing Caleb, but I'm sure Joss knows what he's doing.

He's also supposed to be in possession of something that belongs to the slayer. Sounds a lot like the weapon present to Fray in the comics, but I guess we'll see in the next few eps. I'm not closer to figuring out what the hell the guy is. I've seen pictures of him and he looks like a very human priest. But is clearly stronger that Buffy, Faith and Spike combined, seeing as how he's gonna kick the crap out of all three of them at once."Here comes trouble" folks and it's "not a fan of quick deaths."

He came, He saw, He conquered. Buffy better get it together cause Caleb is certainly a take no prisoners type. Anyone else think Faith's getting tired of getting her ass kicked? I mean first the Beast, then Angelus, and now Caleb. It's no wonder the girl went to the dark side, she must have known deep down that she couldn't cut it up against a big bad. But I got a feeling her day is coming. It was nice seeing her and Buffy converse tonight. Was also very cool seeing the chosen two on the same side again. Next weeks a damn repeat. Grrrr Devil!

Faith has changed a bit... she's grown up, and she's beautiful The only part that really tore me up was when Xander got his eye mangled It looked so... (painful)

I liked having Faith back on the show. Her scenes with Buffy and Spike were great. I hated what happened to Xander at the end. Xander has always been my favorite. That Caleb guy is creepy. I wonder what he is exactly.

You could tell Buffy really wanted to stay and take Caleb out for what he did to Xander. When I first found out Xander was gonna lose an eye to Caleb, my first though was "oh this villain is gonna rock!" Caleb seems like the type that wounds enemies and then lets them suffer A LOT before eventually killing them. I mean he broke Rona's arm and then tossed a knife to a bringer. He could have just finished her himself, but he probably wanted her to suffer a bit longer. I knew once Caleb started toward Molly it was all over for her. The reference to Cain and Abel he made to Faith was good.It seemed to me though that Caleb doesn't even see Faith as a threat. He's sees her as a fake or something. He's gravely mistaken in this logic. She'll kick ass if she gets pissed enough.

Who else thinks that Caleb is just a male version of Glory? Although Glory didn't kill anybody, she sure injured Tara, just like what Caleb did to Xander. Not to mention, both Glory and Caleb beat Buffy's ass the first time. Also, both of them TALK a lot during fights and stuff.

I think the only similarities between Caleb and Glory is that they're both human looking and super strong. It's clear Glory was stronger than Buffy, but somehow I think Caleb's a little more matched with Buffy. I mean Buffy never sent Glory flying like that. Caleb and Glory talk(ed) a lot in battle because they like(d) to throw their opponent off balance. Kinda like Buffy does when she's fighting vampires she knows she can dust easy. If you have an enemy talking at you the entire battle without looking like their even trying, it's gonna mess you up and lead to you getting sloppy in the fight. I think that's all that happened with Buffy. Caleb surprised her and sent her flying. Also it's important to note that in every single first encounter Buffy's had with a big bad she's had her ass handed to her. I mean the Master killed her, Spike nearly would have had her mom not intervened, Mr Trick, Adam and Glory were all the same way. So It's probably best to see how she does in her next encounter with him before calling him a Glory rip off. One thing that I did notice was both Glory and Caleb were fighting like everyone that dared oppose them was beneath them. Like they were wasting their time bothering. I kinda like Caleb myself, seems more personal than Glory. He's ready to go for the heart (or the eye) he's not pulling any punches, He wants them all dead as soon as possible so it'll have a "happy ending."

First off...He's not dead. It was clear from the previews that Caleb is indeed present in the final battle. I'm kinda wondering what the hell all the black stuff on his face was... maybe blood? I loved tonight's ep when the first merged with him. Was pretty damn cool, but if the biggest baddest evil merged with him then why didn't he kill the hell out of Buffy? I mean I expected some kinda super-powered throw down, but all I got was hand to hand combat. I realize Caleb is human and has his limits, but it's the FIRST EVIL! It should have made him produce red eyes, scales or something. He should have been able to toss Buffy aside with a look instead of actually having to throw down like that. Also the First mentioned that they merged before and that Caleb's energy was waining, so it's beginning to look like Caleb is just your everyday human sadistic serial killer that just happened to make nice with the mother of all evil. It's been the First empowering him all along. I honestly thought when Buffy struck him down the First died with him (silly me, there's still a whole battle to fight). I figured they were connected and maybe destroying Caleb would take down the First as well. This is clearly not the case, seeing as how the First was whispering sweet nothings into Spike's ear mere moments after Caleb's "demise."Maybe when the final battle comes the First will truly join with Caleb (maybe to bring him back from the dead?) and that may be Buffy's chance to take the First down. The thing I was thinking about while watching the episode for the second time tonight...yeah I'm a loser, was that they haven't yet explained what event the First seized upon that has allowed it to take out the line of the slayer. I realize it had something to do with Buffy being dead then alive again, but that didn't explain it that well. There had to be more to it than that. Plus if Buffy can't stop the First as Giles said she could not before, then Buffy will have to switch tactics and reshape the events that have allowed the First to attack the line of the chosen. Because if they win this battle and the First escapes then it'll just come back again and again and again till it conquers. It's finally here guys. The end of an era.Nothing to do now, but sit back and pray it ends well for our favorite chosen one.

Can you believe it? One week. That's it. Anyway...I personally want to kick the crap out of the first for whispering in Spike's ear at the end! That was messed up! Especially after Buffy and Spike actually had a moment there. I just can't wait to see how exactly Caleb is alive. She did kill him...right? He looked dead to me. Anyway, I'm sure it's something interesting! Can't wait to see next week.
