From ABCMedia.net: **ALIAS - "FIREBOMB" - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) -- A mysterious Rambaldi device's powers are finally revealed -- and a renegade Sloane has its secrets. Meanwhile, Vaughn begs an uncooperative Dixon to aid the CIA in rescuing Sydney, Will is called upon to participate in a crucial CIA briefing session, and Sydney senses that Francie is keeping secrets. Here's a summary of the spoilers from www.aliasuncovered.com: Francie gives Sydney a quilt trip about never being able to do anything with her anymore. All she does is work. And Sydney, of course, feels horrible. They hug and all is right...except that "Francie" has the house bugged and Vaughn calls to tell Sydney this. Francie than calls Sark to get details on what to do now that the bugs have been found. Sydney goes into CIA headquarters to see why Vaughn called, hoping that they've found Sloane. Sydney goes to Dixon for help, but his wife answers the door and tells Sydney that Dixon doesn't want to see her. He then comes to the door to see who is there. He refuses to give her a location of a man that Sloane may be with. Dixon tell's Sydney that they (his family) are moving on with their lives. Will is in a big meeting with CIA Analyists from Havard to help locate Sloane. Will is visibly nervous...he's out of his league. However, he does come up with an idea on how to find this man associated with Sloane. |

Ok...an hour late, but I just got home when the episode was finishing. So...random thoughts: Go Sydney yeling at Kendall about the CIA not doing everything they can! S/V went to a hockey game! It finally happened! "Please would be nice." ~Marshall to Jack Ok...'Francie' is frickin' evil! "We don't talk anymore!" Whatever! You're not even Francie! Psycho! Vaughn and Will have a meeting. Nice to see them have a scene again. "I like pickles." "...overwhelmed and fat." OMG Go Will! Love how he stepped up to bat when the Harvard people gave a crappy plan! People just burst into flames! Lots of Sark in this episode...nice. Vaughn in all black...VERY nice! "Cause your really hot." ~Marshall to Sydney How awesome is it that Vaughn went to Dixon for help!?! Ahhh.. Sloane gave Sydney a kiss! Don't even touch her dude! GO DIXON! Dixon is back! I hope the CIA uses him more than Sloane did there for awhile! Zamboni. I LOVE the Zamboni! There was more to the manuscript! JJ never ceases to amaze me with the twists he comes up with! **Next weeks episode: I REFUSE to believe Vaughn is evil/bad in any way! If JJ makes him bad, I swear to god... I mean really...how many people can you make bad!? Evil Francie is enough! |

From Alias Media: Firebomb: Surviving~Episode Review by Coreen Kremer "All living creatures are genetically programmed to do whatever it takes to ensure survival, and go beyond survival to security." William Glasser There was a little girl, who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good but when she was bad she was horrid or something to that effect. I don't know how much curl Freplica has but horrid hits the mark. The interaction between her and Sydney, each wary of the other but attempting to be pals took Freplica's "creep-factor" up a notch, even more so than her killing of the plumber. In a very Sloaneish manner, she reaches out and touches Sydney's head, brushing her hair back. Then later, Sloane kisses Sydney on top of the head. Does Sydney's angelic face and empathetic manner evoke stroking and caressing from her surrounding enemies? Every person on the "who entered the household list," save the dead plumber, came up "clean"...but Jack has proven to be wily and a non-believer in the past and he questions the circumstances surrounding the death of the plumber. Hopefully the unusual and coincidental timing will shed light on the true evil living under the same roof as Sydney. This reviewer can't wait for a Sydney/Freplica showdown. Throw a little Will into the fight (provided he does not scream like a girl again) and we've got some serious pay-per-view action! As someone who dislikes surprises, Sloane certainly got me when the truth of his ploy was revealed and surprisingly, I didn't mind. Looking back through my notes, I scribbled and underlined "Egad! Why would Sloane leave the device there if Sydney were there? Wouldn't he suspect someone would come in after her!" Miraculously my scrawled diatribe was answered by Sark, who we now all know to be Slone's lackey no matter how many times he claims to be "pooling their resources." Sloane was after the 16th century Buddhist statuette of an ahrat, a destroyer of the enemy, all along. Clever, very clever. Anyone else think the missing piece was that of the prophesied face? The horror of the "doomsday" device (Marshall's description was great) and the considerable damage Sloane could wield makes me shudder but if he willingly sacrificed it to the CIA, then what does his real plan entail? How much worse can it be? Sloane upped his "creep-factor" a notch this week as well. Jumping to Dixon, did anyone else notice how he put Diane between him and Sydney when telling her "We've made a decision as a family to move on." Seems he couldn't quite stand up to Sydney alone and needed the wife as a crutch. While the "betrayal" Dixon must feel and the fear and anger at the lies his wife must feel tip the scale, the fact that Dixon lied to his wife to protect her and the children and that he now has a chance to work on the side of good, for good and possibly stop Sloane should weigh more than enough to break the scale. Disagree with me if you will, but the minute, the second that Diane found out Sydney's fiancé Danny was brutally murdered, because he was told the truth, she should be sobbing with thanks that Dixon kept her in the dark. Dixon's last comment to Sydney, about not judging her when he may have done the same thing proves Diane to be the force driving the wedge between him and the CIA. Now that he helped Vaughn rescue Sydney and has his own desk, his marriage may suffer, though hopefully not be over. Most marriage vows recite for better or worse and though Diane did not sign on for the worse when she thought she married an investment banker, she obviously loves her husband, and he has proven to be a very good husband and father. In an unrelated TV show a character stated that sometimes things are just a part of who you are, and you can't have one without the other. Dixon is obviously an excellent agent, one that couldn't stay away from that life for long, but he also made the choice to marry the woman he fell in love with many years ago. Maybe to be the best kind of agent, he needs to the grounding love of his wife. If she's his safety net, let's hope she realizes that soon because in this line of work, everybody needs one. Sloane has Emily. At the same time Sydney lost Danny, she began to reconcile with Jack and then met Vaughn. Jack has Sydney. Marshall has his mother. Call it what you will, but survival sometimes requires the support of others. Quote worthy: I admit, I truly wanted to do an article entirely dedicated to quotes because the dialogue was that good. The momentum in the episode again remained slower but the writers took the dialogue to a new level. The best lines uttered came from Will. I'd retype the entire analyst meeting scene if it didn't take up so much space so I'll settle for sharing these lines. Vaughn: "No suit" Will: "It's been a while since I tried it on or worked out, apparently, which makes me overwhelmed and fat." Will: "I realize there is nothing GOPolicitcally correct about my analysis but in the hell hath no fury department I figure this woman would pay us to harass her ex." Other dialogue gems: Weiss: "You're in bed with her right now, aren't you?" Vaughn: "I'm trying." Marshall: "I know, I know, I'm that good." Jack: " Then do it." Marshall: "Please would be nice." Will: "An oral, like in person? I'm a writer, I don't talk, I write." Vaughn: "Order the special, no pickles." Will, said with a smile: "I like pickles." Ahmad Kabir; "In this part of the world, it's better to be practical than visionary." Sark to Sloane: "Easy for you to say, Sir, you're 8000 miles away." Marshall: "Which is kinda a problem, cause you're incredibly hot." Sydney: "Every time we think we've seen the worst " One last thought: Anyone else notice that Vaughn's no nonsense attitude towards Will echoes Jack's no nonsense attitude towards Marshall? My apologies for this review delay. My only excuse is that life happens. Next week: "A Dark Turn." Richard Lewis guest stars as the agent questioning Vaughn's allegiance and the CIA uses Irina and a Rambaldi manuscript as bait in an attempt to catch Sloane. Source: ScoopMe!.com |
