I was watching Connan O'Brien the other day and Val Kilmer was on. They slipped onto an upcoming movie: Titled: Alexander (2004) Directed by Oliver Stone Writing credits (in alphabetical order) Christopher Kyle Oliver Stone screenplay Cast (in credits order) Colin Farrell ... Alexander Jared Leto ... Hephaestion Anthony Hopkins ... Ptolemy Rosario Dawson ... Roxanne Angelina Jolie ... Olympias rest of cast listed alphabetically Elliot Cowan Val Kilmer ... Philip, King of Macedonia Jonathan Rhys-Meyers ... Cassander I read once before...long before that both Oliver Stone and Baz Luhrmann were battling it out on who will take the rights to making this picture. And back then I remember reading that Oliver Stone wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Alexander's part, which made me think...NOT ANOTHER Man in the Iron Mask. Not that it was bad, but I want to see something different. Something that won't remind me of another movie. So I'm stooked about this project and waiting to see what unfolds. Colin Farrel has been a force to reckon with in the acting world...aside from what we see publically. I found the samiliar project Baz Luhrmann is doing with Leonardo... Titled: Full Cast and Crew for Untitled Alexander the Great Project (2005) Directed by Baz Luhrmann Writing credits (in alphabetical order) David Hare Valerio Manfredi novels Ted Tally Cast (in credits order) Leonardo DiCaprio ... Alexander Nicole Kidman ... Olympias rest of cast listed alphabetically Damian Golden If this movie preforms anything like his others... I love the way Baz uses colors in ALL his pictures. Aside the fact that it may remind me of Man In The Iron Mask, I'll probably go see it. Because I'm a fan of Baz's work! |

Hmmm...this could be interesting! I love Alexander's story and well frankly, I adore Colin. So, it would be great seeing him in this role! And the rest of the cast...kick ass! |

At first, Stone has Tom Cruise and Heath Ledger in talk for the role then they both turned down do to the nature of sexuality of the character. Then Brad Pitt but Jen asked him not to do it. So we end up with Colin. Leo has always been the choice of Baz. Well actually there were going to be like 4 projects on this one. Martin Scorsesse was originally want to do it and have Leo, but now he will be producing the Baz's one. Kay |

Hey Jen I don't know much about the two movies other than they are telling the story of Alexander the Great. I believe they will both be interesting to see because of the style each director brings to a motion picture. I did get to check out the link ...and it has some quality info and photos! I'd like to fine out some info on Baz's picture and see how that going. |
