My brain is numb. I've been working on a paper for Mammalogy class, and my brain is numb. I'm like, "Uhhh...". lol This board keeps my sane and coherent!

Gotta love papers. I think they are intended to have that affect on a person. I'm not sure why, but I think that's the teacher's goal. :lol2

I didn't usually mind papers so much. At least not in my major, which was English. I wasn't find of writing papers in Political Science, biology, all those classes that were not related to my major but they made me take anyway.

Personally, I loved writing papers. Most people don't though. I just love it.

After an hour and a half or two hours of paper writing, your brain generally goes numb. It's the getting started that's hardest for me; when I get into it, I can generally go at a pretty good clip. Just stick a CD in the computer, get my media program going, and...voila! I am a paper writing maniac! It helps that I know the subject fairly well, as I learned a lot of this stuff in tech school.

::sigh:: Back when I was in college, in the olden days, computers didn't even have CD-roms. In fact, computers were so expensive that I had this ridiculous thing called a wordprocessor, which was like a typewriter with memory. Now I am having flashbacks to when I wrote my senior thesis. Man, that sucked. ::shudder::

I used to have a word processor. Not a bad little thing, but...I'm liking my computer better.

OMG...I completely forgot about word processors! OMG! :lol

My first year of school, I had Advanced Composition in the spring semester, and we had to write a research paper. So I got my word processor from home, stuck in the disk that had my HS senior thesis on it in the WP, and printed out all 15 pages of the thing, then copied it all over onto my new (to me) laptop, and tweaked from there. lol And then I lost the paper, which is a crying shame, because now if I need to write another research paper, I have to actually go and DO it, instead of capitolizing on my previous efforts. *sigh* A former English prof (not the one from Advanced Composition) would call that self plagerization, but isn't plagerism taking credit for something you didn't write? So how can handing in your own work be plagerism? Go figure.

Gotta love having an easy high school to go to. I haven't done many papers in my life. The only research paper I ever had to write was in History and it didn't make my brain go numb. I'm gonna miss getting the easy way out soon.

Self plagiarism? There's somethin' like that? I thought you could copy from yourself.

Technically, it's called self plagerism. Whatever.

I got through high school with doing a minimum of homework, learning by osmosis, and acing tests. Not so in college. Things are different. Angel, do yourself a favor. Learn good study habits now, and get used to studying. Or something. It's wicked hard to have to learn as you go. Been there, done that.

I have the bulk of my paper for Mammalogy done. 15 pages, minus the closing. And that's just doing a good overview of several different zoonotic diseases. sheesh...now to start on the presentation portion of the assignment. That's going to be on leptospirosis.

I still have a bunch of my old English papers from college. When I feel particularly stupid, I go and look at my lovely A's and remember when stuff like that actually mattered. Nobody gives A's in the real world. :(

Too lazy to learn good study habits, but one day Zooks I'll find the time to learn that.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could get an A in the real world sometimes?

When you get to college, I'm sure you'll have all the motivation you need to learn good study habits.

no, they don't give 'A's in the real world, especially NOT for effort. If that was the case, I'd be coming close to the two-year mark at a vet clinic I worked at, instead of being let go after six months...but c'est la vie, I suppose.

It'd be great if the real world gave A's instead of crap. Then I wouldn't be trying to spend my entire time on the internet.

If the world gave 'A's instead of crap, it wouldn't be reality; it would be some drugged out fantasy paradigm.

Yeah, but it would be nice. :)

It would, but if things were always good...nah. Reality can bite, but I'm a better person for having dealt with all that crap and come out on top of it.
