Just wondering if anyone else is going to be watching?

Season Premire~ Jan. 16th 9/8c on the WB
Welcome to Glory, the Island of Happiness. Well, that's what the billboard says, anyway. The seemingly idyllic small island town in the Pacific Northwest is a breeding ground for eerie events, bizarre happenings and peculiar inhabitants where truth is often stranger than fiction, and sometimes even deadly. Infused with his trademark pop culture humor, Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson's Creek) brings a scary murder mystery to the small screen each week with this creepy, picture-perfect hamlet.

Series Premiere | GRIM FERRYTALE
Welcome to Glory, the Island of Happiness... or so they say...

Compliments to the WB;)
Choose Episode ... Grim Ferrytale
Wunderkind novelist Mike Dolan (Eddie Cahill, Friends, Felicity) returns to his hometown after "loosely" depicting the denizens of Glory in a best-selling murder mystery about the bizarre events surrounding his own father's supposedly accidental death. With the picturesque, yet freaky, town of Glory as the backdrop for his story, Mike used his family and friends as fictional fodder and an exorcism for his personal demons. With a flair for the dramatic, no one was spared from full disclosure and exaggeration of the truth normally kept behind closed doors.
Now, at 25 and four years after his wunderkind success, Mike hasn't written a word, and doesn't exactly get a hero's welcome upon his return home. He's looking for a new lease on life... a chance to do something right, and maybe once and for all solve the mystery of his father's death. As he mends proverbial fences and plays amateur sleuth to unravel the mysteries lurking beneath the placid exterior of Glory Island, he may get his wish, and may even find some new inspiration.

Mike's boyhood friend, Rudy Dunlop (Jay R. Ferguson, Evening Shade, The In Crowd), whom he pegged in his book as a gay village idiot, is now the sheriff of Glory Island. Still haunted by Mike's notorious characterization, Rudy isn't exactly ready to jump right back into being "best buds" with Mike just cause he's returned home. Better yet, since Mike is the law in these parts, the roles have reversed, with Mike now playing the part of sidekick as he trails Rudy in search of answers to the many bizarre murders in Glory.

The third side to this crime-solving trio is Ellie Sparks (Poppy Montgomery, Blonde, Relativity), a creature of strange and morbid appeal who is a forensic pathologist and the town's coroner. Slightly removed from her own emotions, she has an uncanny ability to dissect the intentions of those around her. Since Ellie didn't grow up in Glory, and hasn't had her name dragged through the mud in Mike's book, she's one of the few friendly faces he encounters.

Reconnecting with family is even more difficult for Mike, yet a key first step towards redemption. His eccentric mother, Mitzi (Frances Fisher, Titanic), was unflatteringly painted in his book as imbalanced and bipolar, which may be only a slight exaggeration. His older sister, Sara (Amy Stewart, E.R.), inherited the local newspaper after their father's death and reluctantly gives Mike a job as a reporter. She's a tough workaholic competing with the nearby larger Seattle paper, and some might say Mike's "fictional" description of Sara as "icy cold" isn't that far off target.

Mike's one ally in this splintered family is his younger sister, Sam (newcomer Emily VanCamp). A funky and deliberately different 16-year-old, Sam strives for some edge and spice in the otherwise quaint but quirky town. Her best friend is the cute and clever Zane Walker (newcomer Ben Crowley), who has known Sam since birth and hopes their eternal flirtation will spark into romance.

Zane's mother, Hazel (Theresa Russell, The Believer, Black Widow), owner of the town's diner and aging bombshell, had the dubious honor of being the murderer in Mike's book. While it may just be a coincidence, everyone in the town knows that her guilt in the novel might just be related to her scandalous real-life affair with Mike's dad.

The series was created by Kevin Williamson, who serves as executive producer. Co-executive producer Randy Zisk (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) directed the premiere episode. The series is produced by Dimension Television in association with Outerbanks Entertainment.

Well, okay I did watch it, and, I liked it. It wasn't that bad. It had a few parts that freaked me out a little. I like the concept. Although, I don't think they should of tied up that letter, they should of left it a mystery a little longer. The board game, was so unexpected.. the end with the mother was a little cheesy..and next weeks looks a little devilish... I'll stay tuned a little longer, I have always loved Kevin Williamson... Well, up till the part when he tore P&J apart (shhh) But that always happens doesn't it? I just wonder if this will only be a short term show.. kind of like that coca- cola series they played over the summer, what was it called..hmmm... mind slipping.

All New | The Devil Made Me Do It | 9/8c

Mike's (Eddie Cahill) newspaper interview with a local musical prodigy (guest star Noel Fisher) goes awry when it seems the teen has been possessed by the devil and is the prime suspect in the murder of his demanding piano teacher. Meanwhile, the investigation of the young boy forces Sheriff Dunlop (Jay Ferguson) and Ellie (Poppy Montgomery) to confront their own personal demons; and Sam (Emily VanCamp) and Zane (Ben Crowley) intervene with the hopes of ending the seven-year feud between Mitzi (Frances Fisher) and Hazel (Theresa Russell).

Jen - Coca Cola series? What?

I agree that they wrapped it up too soon. Not just the letter, but the whole thing. I think they should have left it like a cliffhanger and then finished in the next ep. And having it be the man's wife was a bit too predictable, but I have heard of enough cases in real life of one spouse murdering the other so I guess it's not all that hard to believe (unfortunately).

One thing I liked is that it seems like they are not afraid to make fun of themselves. Early on I was thinking it was going to turn out like a Murder She Wrote rip off. Then later the sheriff makes a comment "This isn't Cabot Cove." Like they knew people would be thinking that and decided to address it right up front.

I think there was a lot lof good acting, but the lead wasn't that spectacular. The sheriff and the medical examiner were the best.

Coca-cola series :lol2
I really explain things well don't I? LOL I still can't remember for the life of me the name, but it was that show, where the guy went to the "prestige" school (living not so) anyway, he falls in love with the girl that lives/works at the gas station.. they get together only to find out they are brother & sister... hmmm... anybody remember that show? I guess I'll have go search around for it...

As far as GD goes.. you are right, I was least impressed with the lead (guy that wrote the book, right?) Well, he is cute enough.. but he just didn't jump out and grab me... crappy acting maybe? And the sheriff is my favorite! He had me laughing quite a bit.

There was this boy who seemed to be possessed and the author guy and the sheriff (names? what names?) were investigating. But then someone found out he'd been reading books on possession and had rented the Exorcist about 10 times recently. I was only half watching the second half so I can't remember exactly but there was something about a murder, like they should the kid had done it but then his mom was claiming she did it. I don't remember who ended up as being the killer.
