I'm getting worried. We all know that unfortunatley, SKIN's premiere ratings were pretty low. What didn't help was putting the show up against Everwood or LasVegas. Episode 2 - Secrets and Lies, the ratings dropped another 19%. This has gotta make FOX wonder what are they doing wrong? They have already announced oncore ratings on Thursdays are being replaced by 24, and reports say FOX is giving SKIN 2 more weeks to improve or else it's gone. What are everyone's thoughts on this? I personally haven't seen SKIN yet because it's not shown in Australia, but as far as I can tell, the adults have better storylines. Alot of media reports are slamming the relationship between Adam and Jewel and telling FOX to focus more on the rivalry between Roam and Goldman, the relationship between Roam and Cynthia, and making Adam, and Jewel part players to the storyline. And this is because of it's too close a link to Romeo and Juliet and we can see what's going to happen, and thier dialogue is pretty bad. - Once again i can't make comments because I haven't seen it, |

Everything I've read says that Skin is basically dead. That always happens whenever I really get into a show. GRR! I think Fox made a lot of mistakes with it. First of all, they began by promoting it all wrong. Airing commercials during the baseball playoffs? Umm...wrong target audience, Fox! I watched The OC last night and they didn't have any Skin commercials, which they should have because I would think there would be a great deal of overlap between OC and Skin viewers. Also, it may have helped if they had premiered it during the summer like The OC so that kids would see it before they went back to school. Lastly, having Joe Millionaire as a lead in show sucks. They should have packaged it with The OC, like 8:00 OC and 9:00 Skin, because again, overlap in viewers and it's a better lead in show. As for the thing about downplaying Adam and Jewel's relationship in favor of the war between the fathers, that's already what they're doing and I don't like it. I enjoy seeing them try to bring each other down but I LOVE the love story. I've always been a sucker for Romeo and Juliet stories and the actors have great chemistry. I want to see more of it. |

Totally agree with ya about the whole promotion thing...I think it was awesome that FOX pushed the show so much , and alot of media reprots note that it was heavily promoted by FOX, but seriously, FOX need to work out who their traget audience is...i mean pushing a romeo and juliette love story drama during baseball season where the main audience in guys aged between 21-40? Here's my issue with FOX. I have no idea how they promoted the O.C, but whatever they did with it was right - as the O.C is really working for them...why they didn't run SKIN after than is beyond me...btw - what is following the O.C at the moment? I say SKIN is still in it's early stages and would gain and not loose viwers if it's pushed the the timeslot following the O.C - it's basic TV programming. Give me a job at FOX and i'll imporve thier ratings i say! |

What bugs me is that Fox has obviously just given up on Skin. They have noticeably stopped promoting it. They pulled the encore episode last week (don't know if they'll bring it back this week), they used to have ads for it on their main page at FOX.com, and now they don't, and they stopped airing Skin promos during other shows. I realize that they are upset with the low ratings because it's a big financial loss for them but why not change their method of promotion? They went about it all wrong. LauraVision, to answer your question, the OC airs at 9PM on Wednesdays so there is no show after it. Before it is That 70's Show and some other sitcom. They need to find a way to put The OC at 8 and Skin at 9 on the same night. |

Not yet Jenny, thankfully. But I agree with you Laura. It gets me really annoyed when networks just stop promoting shows because they start to flop. And I think Skin would definitely do best right after The OC. The only problem is, if they did make a change, I think they'd move The OC to Thursday at 8, and Tru Calling to 9, because of similar audiences. But as much as I want it to stay, I still don't think Skin will last longer than the first season, primarily because the plots aren't being used very creatively, so they're probably going to start repeating themselves soon. |

The way things are going, I'd be thrilled if they made it through one season. I have serious doubts as to whether it's going to make it past this WEEK. |
