"The Pilot" from season "wonderful" is being reaired Dec. 4, and "The End of the World" from season "spew" is being reaired Dec. 11. The following week, "Samuel Rising" from season "flee" is being aired (the "Christmas" episode). What is UPN's ultimate gameplan with this? Is it to throw a bone to all of the Max and Liz fans out there who have seen little of their favorite couple in season three? Is it to see if the ratings go up if a season one show is reaired-capturing fans back from "Smallville"? Is it a set-up, giving fans background information on Max/Liz so new viewers can understand the Max and Tess sex and the search for baby Spot? What is UPN upto? Since the "Smallville" pilot is being reaired Thangsgiving evening, (and was already reaired once before), I doubt that it is being reaired 10 days later, so it is not a "head-to-head" match-up between the pilot episodes for each series. Does UPN know that many of the fans are in revolt because of the changes to their show? Is this an attempt to gauge if Roswell is still worth saving? It was announced in Variety and elsewhere that UPN is looking to develop several new dramas to fill in their schedule in place of "Roswell" and "Special Unit 2". Will either or both of those shows just be moved in the schedule or just replaced? Why choose "The End of the World" as the second show to reair? Why not "Blind Date", "Leaving Normal", or "Sexual Healing" if a "Max and Liz" show was the primary reason for the selection? Many fans, (including this one), will never watch "The End of the World" ever again. What is UPN's endgame in all of this?

Love,

Rick

Hey Patricia! :waves hands: I have to agree with you ;) I loved EOTW.. It was a very powerful episode and can't wait to watch it again.. I think my hate started when the whole Max and Tess started Kissing and rubbing toes :eek that made me sick :o I don't think the EOTW was the end, I think it was a little later on when Max started screwing around with Tess and impregnating her that would of been the end to end all ends :rollin :rollin

Edited to say Welcome ;)

And I don't know why! I guess it's just all the emotion it had. I missed that during S2 up to that point, so it was a nice change. I still remember how I felt watching it and hoping that it would all get better. I thought, "Hey! Once Max finds out about this, he'll never leave her". I be naive. I haven't watched it since then, and I guess a year is enough time to have gotten over it all...but I'm not entirely sure.

Don't feel bad, Bette! Being naive is better than being jaded. It means that Hope is alive in our hearts & we really look for the upward trail...

I like to watch EOTW because, like Jen, I tend to wallow in the emotion of it... especially the echo of "might have been" or even "would have been"...

OOO I am happy! I never saw the pilot eppy.

I hated what EOTW did to the plot, but it was a good episode and future max was so HOT! Plus, it makes for great parody fics.

It is not that I didn't "like" "The End of the World". The emotion was first class, the plot-line was sound, the sci-fi was good, the premise was intriguing. It stood out in "season spew" (along with "A Roswell Christmas Carol") as one of the two really great episodes-on par with the quality of season one. It is the feeling of absolute dread I had when I watched that episode for the first time. I just knew in my gut that Roswell was over. JK and the "writers" would take it too far and destroy the dream. And they did. That is why I cannot watch that particular episode ever again-along with the last six episodes of season two. Never again.

Rick

Spoilers have come out that Liz and Kyle will developing "powers" starting in February. The reairing of "The Pilot" could be background information on Max healing Liz and why she is developing those "alien traits" now. Trying to get "new viewers" up to speed as it were. (As if there were any new viewers at UPN.) Why "The End of the World" though? To point out all of the plot-holes that developed from "Departure" and other episodes? There is NO WAY that those plot-holes can be fixed. It just doesn't make any sense?

Love,

Rick
