My father thought it was a show about the government conspiracy to cover up the existence of aliens. "No, Dad, that's the X-Files." My mother only ever saw part of one episode because I moved and didn't have cable yet in my new apartment, so I drove all the way to Princeton to tape it at my parents' house. It was the prom episode. Maria was screaming, "Why am I so smart?!" Mom just kinda looked at the TV, looked at me, looked at the TV, looked at me. "Mom, the show is usually much better than this." |
