1-28-02 From the Crashdown~ Crashdown.com now has heard from several separate (and reliable) sources that the UPN has cancelled Roswell. We are hearing that the order has been cut from 20 to 18 shows for this season, and that there will not be a season 4. The cast was informed today of this decision, and public release of this information is expected at any time. Production is expected to wrap in mid-March. Crashdown will follow this story and post any updates as we have them. If official word comes down, we will attempt to make that known asap, but at this point, it seems pretty likely that this information is correct. It is too early to say what the possibilities are for another network to pick up the show |

Mr. Manager decided to post, this is what he had to say~ from brendans manager:There has been no official word the show is cancelled...only that the last two episodes have been dropped. Many series have had their episode runs reduced this year by networks due to huge losses suffered after Sept. 11. The networks lost a combined total of approx. $8 billion in advertising revenue due to the fact that they ran no commercials during the weeks following Sept. 11th.There is still a slight possibility that the show could return. |

And the plot thickens... Roswell not yet Cancelled: More breaking news January 29, 2002 Posted by NetRanger Crashdown was just contacted by the 20th Century Fox publicity office for Roswell. According to the Roswell publicist, the final fate of the show will not be known until May, but Roswell has not officially been cancelled by UPN, so they asked that we correct the previous news item. The information in the previous news item came from multiple and separate sources connected to the show, who separately told the site the same information. The fact that Fox made the effort to ask for a correction is probably a sign that campaigning for the shows survival will not be a wasted effort. Please stay tuned to the crashdown news, and to the Ros 2 message board as campaign strategy develops. |

I saw that earlier this evening (my hands were a little tied up with the bug) But, I figured it was kind of odd they would announce it so soon. We've never known the fate of the show until May. Just goes to show even the Crashdown is not always official. My only question is, Do we still get a 2 hour season finale or not? |

Someone I know emailed this morning that the owner of the William Sadler board, who actually knows WS, posted the he told her that he'd gotten confirmation of the cancellation. It's all so confusing. I still hope they have some closure. |

From Sci-fi~ The confusion continues... Roswell Not Canceled? The Crashdown.com fan Web site has retracted a report that UPN's teen-alien series has been canceled, which had been rumored just the day before. A publicist for Roswell's production studio, 20th Century Television, reportedly asked the fan site to correct the report, which also said that UPN would cut to 18 from 20 the number of episodes it has ordered for the current season. "According to the Roswell publicist, the final fate of the show will not be known until May," the site reported. |
