Information on Upcoming Roswell Novels
May 05, 2003 Posted by Kenna @ crashdown.com

Thanks to Kevin Ryan, the author of the next two Roswell novels, for sharing this information with us:
"I have written two books that take place immediately after the third season finale. The first one, A NEW BEGINNING, picks up the characters while they are still in the van shortly after they drive off. The second book is NIGHTSCAPE and takes place a couple of weeks later as the characters continue their journey. A NEW BEGINNING will be available in mid-June and NIGHTSCAPE will be available in mid-July. After that there will be two books by Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin. The first one will be titled PURSUIT.

"Unfortunately, there are no plans to continue the book series after those four books because of relatively low sales on recent books. However, strong sales of these new books might change that situation."

Let's keep this in mind and get those book sales up, folks! Stay tuned for more information as the publication dates approach!

Not that I have read any of those yet, but...I think I will have to buy them all now to prevent the series from getting canned, too, due to low sales...:thud Why does the word "cancelled" seem to be inextricably linked to Roswell? :cry2

BTW there's something I don't understand, so if anyone could help me out here... I thought the book series had nothing to do with the show after half of S1, and now they're taking off after the season's finale? Do they mean S3? :dunno

So far, I had heard on another site that Andy Mangels at
www.andymangels.com said that "Turnabout" by Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin would be the last book due to dropped sales. But on Amazon.com still has "A New Beginning" and "Nightscape" listed as future works to be released. We will see what happens. I just bought the first series of books written by Melinda Metz that started this crazy obsession. Image I want to read those first ( I know that they are "slightly" different then the tv series, ie Alex doesn't die and Jim V. is not the good guy.) Then I will go on to the other books that follow the tv series.

I have not read the original series, but the ones that I have read were pretty good. I'm sorry to see that the books are not selling very well because I started reading them after the series ended.
