Report from yesterday's shooting in Rosvina.
Call time was 2:00 pm (12 hours after they wrapped the previous night.) and everyone on the crew was dreading the day because it was going to be an extremely long one. They were unable to complete all of the work on the roadblock scene the night before and thus after they finished the regularly scheduled work for yesterday they had to go back to the roadblock and finish there. They were hoping to wrap by 5:00 this morning. (Also they never got to Nick's scene so as of now that scene was cut and Nick arrived in Rosvina around 11:00 Tuesday night and never got to work.)
The first 2 scenes of the day involved Jason, Shiri, Mary Ellen and Garrett in front of the Evans' house. They took about three hours to complete the various set-ups of these scenes. (The second scene involved Ma & Pa Evans driving away from the house and the locations manager had to come over and ask people whose cars would be in the shot to move and two of the people who had to move their cars were Mr. Bear and SilverFox. Neither of them could convince the show that the street around the Evans house wouldn't be empty and thus their cars should remain where they were. Oh well, they can't join Spam on the list of OTO's whose cars have appeared in the show.)
When these two scenes were completed, Shiri was released for the day and Katie and Adam arrived. The rest of the shooting at the Evans house were interior shots. Jason finished his final scene of the day sometime after 9:00 and slipped into a van and left without anyone seeing him leave. They worked at the house until 11:45 (with an hour for lunch at 8:00) and then Katie, Adam, Garrett and Mary Ellen were released for the day.
After that the crew was heading back to the roadblock scene but since the rest of the night's work was only going to involve stunt people and extras (and because we were cold and tired) the OTO's packed it up and called it a night.
During the day Jason was able to come over to the crowd for a few minutes. He signed some things and posed for some pictures (including one with Sprinkles who was still shaking from the experience an hour later and couldn't remember that Jason put his arm around her) and SilverFox videotaped the entire thing. (I'll be making a copy of the tape today so it can be seen at the OTO party.) Unfortunately he only had a couple of minutes until he was called back to work but he promised to return later which of course he did. However, the second time it was after dark and (as it sometimes seems to happen to the cast when they approach the fans at night) he was swarmed by people and thus wasn't able to spend much time then either.
Katie and Adam stopped for a few minutes before they left for the night but the crew kept calling them to the vans to leave so they didn't have a lot of time either. LTL had printed up a hard copy of the Saga of the Oogly Lady and before the vans pulled out she was able to give it to Mary Ellen who we saw was sharing it with others in the van as they left.
General information learned yesterday. The show normally shoots on an 8-day schedule. As of Tuesday morning that was the plan for episode 18 and there were no location days expected to be shot in Rosvina. As of last night, there has been a rewrite...now the episode will be shot on a 10 day shooting schedule, 6 days of which will be shot on various locations, two of which will be done in Rosvina. There is a chance that they will be back in town the end of next week but most likely it will be early the following week.
The one thing that disappointed me yesterday was that my friend ended up not working and he was bringing me the item that I was planning on giving everyone at the OTO party. Oh well, next time.
I'm off to work on my pictures (I got some good ones of Jason and Shiri that the Dreamers will love) hopefully I'll have them uploaded in an hour or so. I'll let you know when they are done
