Quote: hope for some cake and tobasco... and his company Ditto on that one! I loved Heatwave... actually, I think they did better with the M&M characters then they did with the M&L characters as far as writing on the show went. In my head, it was MUCH different.

I remember have long drawn out conversations with candy addicts too it was good fun ranting about s3 and other things that should not have happened. It is nice to see there is still people who enjoy the show. I thought CID would have been deserted but its great to see it still going

I always had heated conversations over how they should have paired her with Kyle, they would have been so cute. Brother and sister... the writers ruined it. As for the whole Max and Tess thing I don't suppose they wanted to make it too easy for them to be together but Max still slept with her, as if Liz would ever have slept with Kyle

Clearly and Max was going to have to get his baby back... it was alien he was going to have issues sleeping with her and not using protection? What was he thinking. The writers were doomed to make the show fail.

The joke was on them really as they had a great cast with great on and off screen romances. So sweet. Never going to be anything to match it for me.

Quote: In my head, it was MUCH different. Wasn't it like that for all of us. They did some serious crap with the show. To me, the Dreamers themselves were nice, or would have been, but I think they took that whole soulmates-thing two or three notches to far because they made them go through so much unneccessary stuff, like the whole Max and Tess and alien baby-bullshit. That had NO logic whatsoever and was just to have something to split Max and Liz up in order to have some longing craziness going on - bad idea. In contrast to that, Michael's and Maria's problems were always pretty much grounded, they never strayed much from the concept season 1 revolved arounnd, which was alienation in a very general aspect: What do you do when you feel completely at odds with the world? Every teenager knows about that feeling, and the aliens in the show were just a metaphor. Now that made sense. Quote: but that we're still the same people inside I totally had that feeling when I came back here. That is so wonderful. I don't mind my wrinkles now. Quote: Stalker, you get your ass back here! It's not quite the same kind of crazy without you Awww, Spicy! Quote: Bwhahahahahaha! Best quote of the thread! Thank you. ;)

You know Stalker-- that was exactly my point! Through-out all three seasons they did do an excellent job with keeping M&M true and grounded. (for the most part) which was the theme of the show. The dreamers they just fucked up. Plain and simple. First of all, everyone knows (or should know) that the whole forever-soulmates thing is just that... two people who love each other in such a connected way that there is NO one else that can come between them. I mean helllllooooo... Did Romeo go off and sleep with someone else and have a baby with someone else all the while he was destined to Juliet? If they wanted that connection - soulmate thing- then they should have never went into the love triangle crap they pull on TV shows for ratings. Okay... I'll step back down off the now.

Quote: Did Romeo go off and sleep with someone else :rofl Good point. Yeah, you're totally right. I remember back then people used to say that it was totally idiotic that teenage couples would stay together for years like that, like they were on the show and like the fans wanted them to be. Ok, so don't pretend for them to be soulmates then, if you intend to break them up. Or else I can't take all this sappy longing going on. That made no sense whatsoever. I'll join you in ranting, Bunnie. ;)

I take it you weren't much of a Romeo & Juliet fan then? My whole point is they didn't have to bring in the triangle.. they could have played so many other angles on the soul-mate thing... I mean, why not have Liz pregnant and then you wonder if it's an alien baby or if she will die, etc... I mean, Romeo and Juliet were forbidden to be together- it wasn't their *destiny* either... but yet, they killed themselves... I think I would have liked that ending better than having to watch Tess and him. I'm not saying love triangles are bad. I mean Dawson's Creek and Vampire Diaries both had them and they were great... but then again, neither of them had the whole soul-mate, destiny thing going either. AGH?!

I love Romeo and Juliet! The Shakespeare version though. But they were kinda dumb. I always hate how they die because it's sooo unnecessary! You're so right, Bunnie, it was a really non-smart story twist. And excatly about the other triangles! I mean, I get the idea of someone being extremely responsible and thinking "this is my duty, I have to fulfill my destiny" or "I'll step back out of love because he has a road to travel", respectively. But seriously: Then stop the soulmate crap! This was where it got annoying. You can still be in love with somebody and be apart because you think it's best, but not with all this super romantic notion attached that is left intact. It can't be intact after all that happened in the case of Liz and Max. That is total .
