UPN finally pulled the plug on its ill-conceived midseason comedies "As If" and "The Random Years" yesterday due to disastrously low ratings. To give you an idea of how disastrous - both series are expected to finish the 2001-2002 season as the two lowest rated series on the six major newtorks. UPN made a last ditch attempt to try and save "The Random Years" on Tuesday by airing back-to-back episodes, but despite topping its premiere numbers (1.8/3 vs. 1.5/2) in the opening half-hour, "Years" still averaged half of UPN's time slot average there last season. The network will run an encore of "Under One Roof" next week in their place and repeats of its other series in the weeks that follow, leading up to the return of "Roswell" on April 23. The third-year drama desperately needs to make an impression in the closing weeks of the season as its 63.71% average retention rate from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is only slightly above that of "Special Unit 2's" (58.24%) which was axed largely due to its substantial audience loss from "Enterprise."

Nope it's not wrong to be in denial about the cancellation cuz there's always hope that another freaking network will pick it up like last season!

I don't know about the rest, but I do know that everytime I read this line, I just die laughing... LMAO!
