I think this was the most fun to watch because it made ME see what really separates Clark from Lex.

Separates Clark from Lex? Interesting perspective! Not that I want to see any separation between them. I found it interesting here that Lex wanted peace between Jonathan and Clark, Lex dressed simply, Lex was trying to get along with his own father. Even though it appeared that Clark was emulating Lex, he was showing behaviour that Lex wouldn't.

I thought one of the many interesting things here was the perspective we got of an assertive, self-confident Clark. Take away the moral considerations, and you get something of what he might be as an adult.

The more harrowing and awful moment was when Clark told Jonathan he wasn't his father, and threw him against the truck.

that was quite a scene when Clark told Johathan he wasn't his father...if that's what Clark thought. But isn't it true ideas pop in our head but depending on our rational thinking we decide what we really want to feel or say?

As for the separating between Lex and Clark. Lex feels alot of hatred towards his father and things he says or doesn't say is something we'll have to see in time.
But as for Clark...I don't believe he has any true anger towards either of his parents...so whatever he chooses to say or not, i feel is what will make him the better man than Lex in the long run.

OK, sorry to bump up an old thread but I'd really like to talk about this episode.

I hated it. H-A-T-E-D it. Even (especially?) the Clark/Lana kiss. The whole thing was absolutely dumb, dumb, dumb.

Why can't the scriptwriters remain consistent? I mean, come on, folks. In 'Heat', they tell us that Clark's heat vision is triggered by him thinking about sex.

*spoiler, though I think everyone's probably seen this episode...if you haven't don't bother*
If Clark is looking through Chloe's and Lana's clothes, wouldn't you say that would trigger heat vision? In all fairness to the 'Heat' script (which I loved) he should have set their clothes on fire.

Same because later, in one of the Superman movies, Lana and Clark have sex. Wouldn't you think that he couldn't?

Oh, and in case you have not guessed from my last couple posts, I'm new. ;)

And I get what your saying ML- I thought the Heat plot was ridiculous. Only in the sense that they made it trigger over Sex. That was dumb, dumb, dumb. Didn't make sense then and it won't later on either. :tantrum

But hey-Clark in the leather this week. YUM. :grin

Thoughts of sex bringing on the heat vision was a little silly but they were emphasizing that growth and hormonal development trigger his power development. He was suposed to have learned to control it so future dates wouldn't get crisped. Personally, I think he should have some accidents (with the heat vision!) before his powers are totally under control but they didn't ask me. Opps! Sorry, Lana!
Red could have been much better if we'd been able to see more of the consequences of his actions. The ep felt too rushed, especially at the end but many eps do.
I'd have liked to see him having to do a lot of extra chores or get extra jobs around town to pay off the debts he incurred.

Because I was a C&L fan.. until every freaking time they would kiss it would be fake. Due to some bug or personality disorder. :lol :lol Now, it's just gotten so old, that I really don't care one way or the other. Sort of like when you call sheep as a joke-- the third time around no one comes/cares. ;)
